According to Brandon, the population was pure Terris, which meant the powers were strong when they did appear. However, when the lines diluted, the Terris blood weakened to create a non-true feruchemist - a ferring. This does not actually make genetic sense, but it might be a part of the cognitive/spiritual DNAs that matters. Someone is spiritually very Terris, but not cognitively, they have no powers. Same for the spouse, who is strong cognitively but not spiritually. Their child, who happens to be strong both ways, is a keeper. Still sketchy, but better.

Felt to me like the Vogons and Adams' habit to add laregly irrelevant parts to a story. I have lines I might share soon. However, I cannot send first paragraphs in fear of giving a whole story away. I might give the opening (I wrote those in a fashion that slides the focus around, I'll give it just up to where it shifts)

Cosmere Battle Royale; AKA Who Would Win
Dysphoric Kitten replied to Gamma Fiend's topic in Cosmere Discussion
A really boring physics class drove me to both draw a few mistborn sketches and to compile the following list: Hammond vs. Jasnah - philosophy contest Hrathen vs. Sazed - debating Wayne vs. Raoden - infilitration/spying/blending in. The judge will be a kandra Shallan vs. Galladon - drawing cryptic symbols Qwaan vs. Dalinar - prophecy. Dying people will serve as judges Gaz vs. Clubs - being unpleasant Lestebornis vs. Wit - talking appearrant nonsense, being hard to understand Spook vs. Parshendi - hearing things -
[game] Buy or Sell?

Buy, but not alone. He will clear some parts but others (Hoid, Dalinar & Kaladin (via visions), Sylphrena, dying people, maybe even other Shards and 17thsharders) will provide us other parts of the puzzle. Mistborn FTL will give us cross-world magicsystem usage. -

Good reasoning Shardlet! I ceremoniously take my hat off, for you have got some skills! One note: I did not mean to say 'night advantage', I meant to say 'being used to mist tactics' (mist is said (MB1Ch1) to not only obscure the sight (in the various ways it does), but also diffuse sounds and make them harder to locate/decipher) Despite the above two lines, I submit to your control, oh Shard of Reasoning. -
Meaning of "Shadows Of Self" - HOA Clue?

Really? I just saw it as a distinction between normal text and book's name capitalization. -
Cosmere Battle Royale; AKA Who Would Win

But both have subcrews! We see Breeze's in recruiting, and hear that Ham is "Head of Security", which means both have more allomancers with them! I wouldn't say that it is very easy to heal a blade injury, how much of his minds would it take? I see what you mean. I still think he could Steelrun some more, but he seems to not do that much, not his strategy. Not the Tin people. The Scadrians, who are used to dealing with it. They have been trained to fight in there, they know what to do. The Rosharians, on the other hand, would be disoriented. Not that most fights will happen then, only skirmishes and Scadrian raids. I wonder what blades would do to a Kandra. (assuming they do not hit his spikes) -
(Whispered) mine precious! He does not know we stole you from Hoid, to give us the power!

Cosmere Battle Royale; AKA Who Would Win

Epically done, McMillion! I still disagree with everything you said about Sazed, though. You seem to have forgotten the rest of the crew, as well. It was quite clear to me that blade injuries are not healable, but I might be wrong. I thought his biggest advantage against standard soldiers is his Gold, while against empowered ones, it is Steel. In both cases, Tin and Pewter, along with Bronze, are of importance. Zinc might help a bit. Also, I assumed (and you matched my assumption here), that we only have the eight metals and Gold. If we gave the Mistborn the rest of the metals (think Bendalloy and Cadmium), they could have a great advantage. Oh, and never forget - Scadrians have the night advantage. It there are skirmishes then, they have the upper hand in those. -
Meaning of "Shadows Of Self" - HOA Clue?

Agreed. There is a theory/question I have for Brandon, but I do not know how to contact him or ask him in a way that will not distort my wording. If someone accidentally changes a word or two when asking him, the whole question would read entirely differently. -
I know that. But he never mentioned the WnW series, either. I am just speculating, based on what I know of him. Besides, I have not counted them in in any way. I just said that there was a possibility. Do we know how many Wax and Wayne novels there will be, by the way?

Sell. There is no need. Harmony can supply them with information, and so can being human. The Kandra Dogs have no use anymore. Ironeyes will appear in SoS. -
Cosmere Battle Royale; AKA Who Would Win
Dysphoric Kitten replied to Gamma Fiend's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I chose points in time where I believe they are balanced. At that time, Elend was no mistborn. Besides, we have a keeper on his side, and please remember that even mistborn are in very serious danger against a keeper. But if you have answers to both scenarios, you may present them both. -
Actually, not exactly. Sanderson is planning mistborn to be structured so: Trilogy 1 (Mistborn/Vin) (Wax and Wayne - filler novels. not from the original design) Trilogy 2 (Tech reaches TV level, fifty years after WnW) (probably another filler, like WnW) Trilogy 3 (Hyperdrive spaceships) So, it won't be the next couple of books, it will be in at least four (Shadows of Self (WnW 2)+ second trilogy) before interstellar travel.

I would say that actually separating a shard from it's power will create an ex-shard. Slivers are different, at least to me.

Cosmere Battle Royale; AKA Who Would Win

Army Kholin versus Army Venture Special units included (with Kel's and Kal's crews) Kal's crew has decent training - above that witnessed in the climax. Dalinar has no blade, Adolin has his. Vin has TenSoon, Elend is no mistborn, Sazed is present, and has his minds more than half full. No Atium. Both spheres and coins can be found easily in camp. There are mists, but Vin cannot draw on them more than when she killed the Lord Ruler, which is to say, she can only draw on them once, and it is only as good as a few refills. There are highstorms, it is outside, and both have some kind of actual settlement. Setup is like a two-way siege. Both have enough food for the whole battle. Marsh is not present. Nor are other inquisitors. No Koloss, no Parshmen. Wit is somewhere else. Seems fair? -
Skaa, time to go digging. (it might take some time - audiobook)

[game] Buy or Sell?
Dysphoric Kitten replied to firstRainbowRose's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Sell. Too soon. One of the 'four who shall bind us' will spend some time in Shinovar during BoEP, and we will get to know it better. Edit: I am aware of the new name. However, I used and liked the working title so much, it completely stuck. -
In relation to ruling the world, I agree with Creon from Sophocles's Oedipus the King. In short, Creon, who is Oedipus's brother-in-law, tells Oedipus that he does not crave to rule, because Oedipus gives him the same privileges as Oedipus himself, but without the responsibility and without being blamed for being a bad king. (original text in spoiler dropdown) I would be Asmodean from WoT. Well, I would probably also do some awesome things like saving people (I will spend some time as a special forces squad, then tire and just quit) and using a sweatshirt as if it was a , exploring evolution all that, but most of all, I would refine art to the highest degree.

Correction: every power is taken from the heart. I am assuming each granting point has only one power linked to it, and so Atium can never grant it all, although the whole spiritweb is stolen - only one attribute can be granted per spike. If I am wrong, and double-heart Atium can do that, the Lord Ruler is a moron. He knew everything about hemalurgy and made inquisitors with heart-spikes. For them to have Atium, he stole from skaa mistborn, which was considered a waste by both inquisitors (I think Marsh says this in MB2 or MB3) and other people (just think about it). Why not just go with the 2Heart-Atium, then give them the extra spikes they need to complete the standard set, so they have double-powered and triple-powered powers? (inquisitors can pierce copperclouds - double bronze. why not make the pulses easier to hear with triple bronze?) QED Thus ends my ramble, and my point is proven.

ChayShan and Feruchemical tin. You store it to concentrate better, then it is much easier to continue in it. This is not mixing up systems, but if you have two seekers, they can communicate. If you are interested, I can send you a link to an explanation of this. Also, flared Bronze against extremely tiny copper. What happens? By the way, I hate Aluminium. I think Sanderson is abusing it to no end right now. I mean, the whole idea of a coppercloud is that it is the only way to protect your emotions. The fact the aluminium does the same, and at the same time it is allomantically inert, ruins the whole thing for me. I need three things for it to work: A. Aluminium is not compoundable, and if it is, only in very small quantities. This is because it is erased in the process. B. Duralumin is, instead of allomantically inert, affected more easily. Same for emotion - if you Soothe or Riot someone wearing Duralumin, the effect is magnified. C. There must be an explanation.

Seems like a pretty solid theory. I like it.
