Are we sure this would work? The Oathpact is weakened. The Everstorm is something new (of old design). Will a single Herald on Braize stop the Fused from being reborn? I am not so sure... Edit: But it can't hurt if they try to kill Ishar/Tezim ;-)

I agree that Jezrien is dead dead. And now I take your explanation so that it allows me to think Jezrien went Beyond. Also, I am very happy that Brandon Sanderson is never going to reveal any information on what's beyond. Still, I'm a bit sad they killed Ahu. And I'm looking forward to learning how the other Heralds will react to this new threat.
-
I read this as Jezrien's soul is trapped in the gemstone. Actually, this is my hope for him. I'm not a religious person and I don't believe in an afterlife - in heaven or elsewhere. Oddly, I hope the Beyond is some kind of afterlife where Vin and Elend, Elhokar and Eshonai, and many others live on in some happy state. I wish for Jezrien to go to this beyond after his burdensome life. I am, however, not sure if this is possible due to his peculiar death.

I'm so happy that there are others who miss such things. Sometimes I feel all the other Sharders but me finds all those Heralds, Worldhoppers, hidden clues, or invested objects, are able to translate coded and foreign languages, and understand Realmatic Theory like expert scientists. Nice to see that's not the case . Jezrien is according to Brandon really dead. His soul is somehow trapped in the gemstone. Do you think he still might be saved? At least his soul freed? Oh. damnation you Moash again and again!

What about Cultivation? Both, Dalinar and Mr. T, visited the valley. And while I'm not on the "Mr. T bonding the Nightwatcher"-train, I am a true believer of the "Mr. T is a plant"-theory...

What @Invocation said. And you have to count in crem as well. Roshar is eroding and moving. It's a "magical natural" phenomenon as Roshar was built by Adonalsium using mathematics:- 43 replies

From OB, ch. 62, right after Shallan stabbed herself with the scissors: Sounds just like in the picture. If you draw many of they might crawl over each other.. But interesting catch that there are exactly nine hands! I've never counted them Btw. Do we know what the swirling stuff in the lower left corner is? And haven't we seen Shadesmar during a Highstorm? I can't remember correctly, but I think it was on one of the ships. The spren seemed to draw energy from the storm. Something like that...- 43 replies

But per WoB (see the first one I quoted above) we can assume it is a spren. Sometimes WoBs are vague or even misleading if interpreted too enthusiastically (happened to me more than once). But I think his answer was quite straight forward on this account.- 43 replies

I totally bought this idea (read it in another thread which I can't find anymore - one of those many Sibling discussions). But what if we are overthinking them. @earthexile may be right in that the stormstriders are lesser spren accompanying the highstorm. Just because they are much larger doesn't mean they are more powerful or more intelligent than windspren. That would be a bummer ...- 43 replies

Oh! The joy you are feeling seems to drop out of the photo ! I never cared much for Kelsier in TFE, but he grew on me in SH. So I'm happy he is still around. If somebody had told me that Moash is going to kill Elhokar in OB, I wouldn't have been mad for being spoilered. I would never have believed them if they said that I am going to cry for Elhokar before reading OB. I would have hated being told about the Lord Ruler. It took me a while to figure out what's going on, but it was so cool finding out.. The epigraphs.. It was my first Cosmere book and I went in clueless.

I just reread Dalinar's scene in which he sees the figure in the highstorm (OB, ch. 19 "The subtle art of diplomacy", 31 years ago). Note the rude gesture Dalinar gave the thing . Hopefully this spren has a forgiving nature if it ever becomes more important... Now I have to look up the Eshonai scene.- 43 replies

@CrazyRioter is right. If you have the time and the opportunity, reading Warbreaker before Oathbringer might also be a good idea. Warbreaker is not a series, but as of now a standalone book - though there might be a sequel sometime. If you don't know it by now: You can follow Brandon Sanderson's process on his current projects on his website brandonsanderson.com (on my phone I never see the drop-down button; have to click on Spensa's (the girl's in the top picture) forehead).

I didn't meant to say I really believe Aesudan could have switched her eye color. I just meant that it is more believable for me than Hesina switching from being lighteyed to being darkeyed. I also think that we shouldn't read too much into this WoB. But the idea regarding Graves... I really can get behind that. Have to look for potential curses in coming rereads. Lirin on the other hand... I hope not. I really would prefer if his character/his confidence has nothing to do with anything "magical".

Dalinar also saw them in the flashback when he went for his knife.. As far as I know, we don't have much information on them. But WoB says those "stormstriders" are spren that move with the Highstorms.- 43 replies

Here is a WoB that fits what @Void89 said above: "A very complex system of things..." Sounds like a very loose relationship to me. I don't believe that Hesina would be someone who considers visiting the NW. Rather, I would buy that Aesudan changed her eye color if somebody tries to sell this theory (I don't).

Great. Thanks! I completely missed that Defending Elysium is set in the same universe as Skyward. I will heed your advice

It can go back down? Starsight.. Hm.. Still not sure whether to read Skyward..

Wohoo! Thanks for sharing @Winds Alight. I check the website unfrequently and apparently always right before the numbers jump up. Having those updates here as well is fun!

Wish I had parents that started me reading SA at age 13. But I can't blame them. I was already in my late 20s when WoK was published . But I love that age doesn't matter at all here. The discussions in this forum are high class - thanks to you all whatever age you are! Edit: Thanks @Dalakaar for the poll. It's interesting to see the statistics.

Are you afraid of Sanderson been unable to finish Cosmere?
equinox replied to IcaroRibeiro's topic in Cosmere Discussion
If you want to make sure that you can read the finale of a book series, you would have to wait until the last book is published before you start reading. In this case, many book series - especially from young, less known authors - would not be finished as publishers won't bring the second book to the shelves if the first didn't sell. After what happened to certain other series, I can fully understand that people hesitate to start an unfinished series. But I trust Brandon Sanderson that he doesn't just abandon his fans. Also, SA is a 2x5 books series. I expect some closure in book 5, which is not decades away. And most importantly: as @Philomath already said, the single volumes contain many interesting story archs that can stand on their own. Journey before destination indeed. -

On my phone, I can't see the drop-down button, but it is right there on the top. A click on Spensa's forehead does the trick. (Though it was just a bug on my phone specifically. Otherwise I would have explained it right away.) -

I don't know. I just love the books he writes and I don't care, if I die before I get to read the Cosmere's conclusion. And I also can live on, if Brandon Sanderson decides not to write the conclusion. I simply enjoy the world he created and the characters he gave life - with or without final ending. And: The progress bar of the SA 4 Outline just jumped to 25%. Even if I can live without having full closure, I love how open Brandon Sanderson is with his fans! -
I sometimes get the feeling, that Adolin presents himself more "simple" than he really is. On the outside, he shows the cool prince in fancy clothes, but he can be quite thoughtful and smart. He brings books to Shallan to help her getting a grasp in politics, he has a keen mind for tactics in battles... He is like this kid in school that is part of the cool in-group that doesn't want to show his intelligence to his peers. BUT: He also avoids responsibilities sometimes. He needs to overcome this if he wants to proceed with Edgedancer oaths. But the same applies to Lift... All in all, we are not often enough in his head to really understand him.
