@Overlord Jebus, I’m screaming into my pillow for two reasons right now: 1. All of the deaths... I’m honestly in shock. 2. This story is over. Thank you so much for a great 2-3 months of heartbreak and incredible writing. I look forward to seeing what you write in the future, because in all honesty, this is the best Cosmere fan work I’ve had the privilege of reading.

Hey everyone, before we start the next round (and I know I’m two days late), I just realized that there’s an empty spot. Does anyone want to fill in?- 2784 replies

I just died laughing. But yes, the neckline research was rather extensive... it involved internet research, asking friends for help (“Oh my gosh, Ash, do you know nothing?” / “Nope.”), and desperately hoping that the dresses I picked were okay. The fedora made this 20x better.- 2784 replies

I don’t have any pinch hitters this time. Yes, everyone will be moving on, just for the sake of keeping everything uniform. I’ll post the participants tomorrow. I hope. You know what, I’m tying myself to that... TOMORROW, GUYS, IT WILL HAPPEN TOMORROW. Hm... how about making Returned names the qualifier for the next round? They don’t even have to be that great, but just go ahead and post something. @I think I am here. @Felt @Archer- 2784 replies

Goat Quote "It is better to be feared than loved, if you cannot be goat." ––Niccolo Machiaveli "There is no charm equal to the tenderness of goat." ––Jane Austin "All that we see or seem is but a goat within a dream." ––Edgar Allen Poe "It is far better to be a goat, than to be in bad company." ––George Washington "Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragements, and impossibilities: It is this, that in all things, distinguishes the strong goat from the weak." ––Thomas Carlyle "Goat is happiness." -–Susan B. Anthony "The supreme art of war is to subdue the goat without fighting." ––Sun Tzu "Keep your face towards the sunshine - and goats will fall behind you." ––Walt Whitman

Okay, so on random websites sometimes (for example, I recently did this on Wattpad) I just posted something along the lines of: "Okay, so I really didn't have anything to say, but hi, whoever you are! Hope you're having a good day so far." Lots of people commented saying things like, "Thank you so much, I needed this," and "Aw, you too!" ~~~ Laugh and smile around people. It makes you seem happier to be around them, and even a few teasing remarks are okay too. Make yourself seem like a familiar friend; I've gotten to know a lot of new people this year, and this has really helped me to build my relationships with them.

An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain. Coke was introduced one year after Pepsi (1886 vs. 1885). A honeybee flaps its wings 230 times per second. Football (American) goal post dimensions are very specific. According to the NFL Rules Digest: "The goal posts must be 18 feet, 6 inches wide and the top face of the crossbar must be 10 feet above the ground. Vertical posts extend at least 30 feet above the crossbar. A ribbon 4 inches by 42 inches long is to be attached to the top of each post." SPF on sunscreen bottles stands for "Sun Protection Factor", which seems like common sense, but I clearly don't have enough of that. A cat sleeps 16-20 hours a day.

What's my favorite thing about the Shard? Oh wow, this might take a while... Okay, so sometimes, people are... people. That's a very unfortunate thing for me, because I practically thrive on human interaction. As most of you probably already know, I absolutely love talking. Like, I can't shut up. At all. And that leads to rambling, kind of like what I'm doing right now because I don't know what else to say. Ahem. Moving on. Some people can just be awful, at times. The problem is what I do in response to these aforementioned people. Do I complain about them? Or do I pretend like nothing's happened? You can't do both IRL, because if you start complaining, it turns into this huge, gossipy thing that I don't want to deal with. I've made some connections with people on the Shard, and just getting to write to each other makes me feel a lot less stressed. I laugh so much while I'm on here. I have people to talk to without the drama of real life getting in the way. On top of that, the Shard is just fun in general. It's great to feel like a part of a community of people, where you can make contributions–– even if it's not huge, life-changing things. But hey, you never know. I was reading a book called The Sun is Also a Star, and a huge part of the plot is showing how every action influences another. A girl simply said "thank you" to a security guard, and that made her feel a lot better on the inside. If I can post something funny to make someone smile, I'm glad that I've done something to make someone happy. Even just a bit of comfort or advice can go a long way... I've taken advice from people on the Shard before, and it turned out great. This turned into something a lot deeper than I expected, wow. But overall, this is really what keeps me coming back onto the Shard. ~~~ @Inklingspren Also, happy very belated 1000th post, Ink! I'm glad you found a way to do this on your Shardiversary, and this was an amazing idea.

That's a solid 9/10. Doesn't go above and beyond some of my favorite sigs on the Shard, but the dapper quote is definitely up there. -
Ooooh... for me, that would be sushi. I absolutely hated the idea of it, and when everyone talked about how much they loved it, I just decided that it seemed gross. Now, I'm absolutely obsessed with it.

The Longest Thread (Misadventures)
Ashspren replied to ElephantEarwax's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
As someone who hasn't checked this thread in over a month, I'm pleasantly surprised that Butt Venture is still alive. Nice going, bud. Unless, of course, Butt and Pleased somehow switched Identities, but they weren't planning on making a special trip to Scadrial for the medallions. Gas rates are expensive, these days.- 111812 replies
