  1. Deteca waited to give anyone who wished a chance to speak, scowling deeply when the Stranger insulted her guild and nodding when one Denizen stepped forward to offer a more peaceful solution. She concealed a sigh at Voidus's ultimatum, but nodded to that as well, and watched the gathered Dark Alley members disappear. She sighed again and turned to the surrounding TUBAists, most of whom had stayed quiet - possibly out of fear, possibly out of respect - throughout the exchange. "That's likely the best we'll get," she announced to them, "so adhere to it, okay? If you want to work with the DA, please do. If you're averse to the idea, as I'm sure many of you are, don't feel pressured, 'cause you're not." She tried to smile, wondering why it felt so unreal...and remembering the night before. Of course that had to happen right before a worldwide catastrophe. As TUBAists began to trickle away, she checked her phone and winced. This had taken longer than she'd thought, and Tena was probably annoyed with her. She glanced around to see if anyone wanted a word while she was still here, [if anyone does, feel free, we can stick it in here for continuity], and walked out the door.
  2. Are you guys singing?
  3. I cried, quietly, in this nothingness that mirrored me for a few minutes. But that would never help anything, so eventually I stood and began walking. Where? I didn't know, and it didn't seem to matter. Until I saw something - someone - in the distance; then I started making my way toward them.
  4. When Sharders use the term, we mean when you write something and post it, but it turns out that, while you were writing your post, someone wrote what you were going to say (or something like it, or answered the question, etc.) before you did, making what you said redundant. For example, if someone tells you what it is before I post this, I will have been ninjaed (rather ironically).
  5. Ack, I've never taken an AP test, but I do hear they suck. I'm sorry. *hugs*
  6. This is such an accurate depiction
  7. You could send this to Brandon or Peter or Adam - I bet they'd enjoy it, if nothing else.
  8. I love how this thread has spawned both a roleplay and now a fanfiction.
  9. You guys scare me. These are great.
  10. That is incredibly frightening.
  11. Terror. Death. Agony. Death. Begging. DEATH. I startled awake, but everything felt wrong. Jamie slumbered on my bed. I sighed, watching her. I was pretty sure I had a crush. How could I not, when she had hair like - I blinked, then did a double take. Her hair seemed off. I crept closer to examine it; just a normal red, right? Was it more shiny than normal? Feeling like a creeper, I touched it lightly...and jerked back my hand in horror. My fingers came away wet. Blood. That was why her hair color was just a little off - it was soaked in blood. It was nothing to kill her, an ambiguous voice whispered in my soul. She had no protection, after all. She was only with you, and you are nothing. You're uncertain and weak; you haven't sworn the Ideals so many here have. You have no training. You only have a home because you uncle felt sorry for you, as well he should! You'll never be able to repay him; you don't really matter, after all. "You're lying," I whispered, scrutinizing the room for Joy fruitlessly. "Uncle James doesn't mind having me here. I might not be as powerful as some, but at least I'm - I'm not a burden..." I trailed off, not believing my own words. Oh, Cassandra, you are nothing. The voice took on an oddly familiar cast, and amused hatred beat at me from all sides. I know. I've watched. Joy appeared, glowing brightly. I've watched you for years, and even when I bonded to you, you've never been anything but worthless. She pulsed brighter, another flash of degradation slamming me. Never. Never. I fell to my knees as even my own spren laughed at my incompetence. Dully, I remembered my parents dying, my dog's fur as slick with blood as Jamie's hair. Never. Images of the Radiants here dying flooded me. I stood alive until the end, too hopelessly small to be bothered with by the Voidbringers who swarmed our home. Never. I drifted away, eyes too wide and dry, teeth clenched and set, curled into a ball. Joy's Light expanded, filling my vision until I was blind. Never. Nothing.
  12. EYES ARE WATCHING US
  13. Yep. RP3 hasn't started quite yet, but it probably will soon, and you can read what we already have while you wait.
  14. You're a House Lord now, which sounds less impressive than it probably is
