Getting some help for an awesome music shop and this site.
Joe ST replied to Rubix's topic in 17th Shard Discussion
watch out, your tuba may be filled with spikes -
I've been chatting with weiry and the other wiki staff and we believe this is probably Brandon intentionally trolling. Poor weiry Also poor Scadrians, 100M -> 15M is a heck of a destruction

The Coppermind's Birthday Extravagapalooza!
Joe ST commented on Chaos's article in Brandon and Book News
A huge HUGE thank you to all of you who have contributed so far this month Here's an update post -
No apologies needed, thanks for bringing this up again and we look forward to seeing your article. Feel free to tweak the navbox link yourself. Many of the templates have some documentation but yeah I think we all agree that the general documentation of everything is kinda lacking, so we're getting around to it. Similarly the magic template I have no particular suggestions other than to maybe get it moved to a different name and free up magic as a general template for other magic systems, or something. For now it sounds like you're doing a good job of coping without it which is great

Thank you for adding the detail you've done a great job so far and I hope we can keep you interested in helping out. If you ever have any questions then ask away we are happy to help our helpers feel better about editing and such

I don't have a good answer for you I'm afraid. Really as much as possible is preferred, but not just retelling the story, so I'd class your point that you asked about as sensible to add. We want our character pages to be as close to completely describing the character. The only point it becomes too much is for the mains where you have insanely large amounts of info which may be better to summarise and then describe detail elsewhere in event articles or something. Our policy is fuzzy at this point as we aren't very good at writing about characters in general.

I second this, weiry is a saint. I also nominate Zach for his amazing work on the interviews and just genuinely being a fantastic person.

Talking to us is a good way of getting things done, and talking about stuff you want doing works too. The flora&fauna => lifeforms change is completed and was done by the five admins, but if you want some kind of difference in the category system now is the time to speak up since we're planning to overhaul it in the near future. I can maybe provide you a page which only includes cosmere magics, but it might also be feasable to do what you suggest, though we'd probably just have a 'cosmere magic' or something to do with investiture as the name, and then leave the rest of the magics in the magic category. Mentioning the articles you want reviewing in the article workshop is the best way to bring them to our attention, and we will generally take a look at everything you do and tweak the tags appropriately.

It's probably some time after the ball ends, knowing Eric and the rest of the admins.

no need to apologise for not knowing what should be left alone. really it's best if everything under the '== Notes ==' header is left alone, and the same goes for all the {{}} things at the top of the page/sections. All of the rest of the things are good for changing. I would hesitate against removing things in general though, and if you're rewriting a section make sure to not lose any of the references tags. Move them around to make sense with your new prose, but try not to remove them. Replacing {{cite}}, {{dispute}} and {{clarify}} tags with {{ref}} tags and/or better prose is encouraged if you ever come across them, and they will be reviewed with a little more scrutiny than other changes. Thanks again for your contributions

We tend to try and keep categories and templates off of user pages (aka your sandbox pages) and we have a pretty standardized footer to our articles so try not to change those. Really though, anything goes, and if something doesn't then we will come and chat with you. Thank you for contributing

The main problem with this idea is that they get quickly out of date, and you end up having to include that index thread in the next set of index threads when the next person can't find it. The cosmere 101 is an obvious starting point, and there's probably other such things for the other subforums.

but then who is superman? I would guess TLR is a good candidate, with his vast magical prowess, XD

Kurk this has been my understanding since State of the Sanderson December 2014?

Thanks for showing us Peter

Those are some awesome answers indeed shall we just topic merge?

In the vein of wikipedia’s wikiprojects, I have recently made a few pages which will help people who are looking for a way to contribute to the coppermind but don’t know where to look to find things that need doing. They are a set of pages which list the status of various articles, so you can see which articles really need help. As a new contributor, adding content to the articles in the good or stub categories of your favorite series would be a reasonable place to start. Alcatraz Cosmere wide Elantris & <a data-ipb="nomediaparse" data-cke-saved-href="http://coppermind.net/wiki/User:Fbstj/Project:Emperor"href="http://coppermind.net/wiki/User:Fbstj/Project:Emperor" s_soul"="">The Emperor’s Soul Legion Mistborn: Trilogy, Wax & Wayne, Crafty RPG The Reckoners Rithmatist The Stormlight Archive (warning: this page is huge, there’s just so many articles relating to it it’s still not very usable) Warbreaker Each of the sections corresponds to one of our article status categories. So the first section lists articles relating to particularly notable subjects, like major characters and places, or particularly important events in the plot, things like that. The exemplary articles are those which are especially well written and laid out, and who’s content completely describes the subject. The complete articles are in general much shorter than exemplary articles. They usually cover topics where there is not enough information to write an exemplary-length article, but they do contain all possible information on the subject. Following this the articles nearing completion are those which just need to be reviewed finally by the admins to make sure all the information is accounted for and correct, as well as correctly cited. The articles in these above sections probably won’t need much attention, so are probably not the place to start for new contributors. The good and stub sections contain all the other articles. The difference being that good articles contain a lot more information than stubs, which usually have less than a paragraph or two of content. In general, good denotes a page partway between stub and exemplary. These are a great place for new editors to start, so if you see a subject you know things about, then open the article and add what you know to it. You don’t necessarily have to cite your work or even write it in flowing prose. These things can easily be added later, just add the facts you know so the article has more information. On to the attention needed list, which contains pages which are missing most of their content; especially pages for notable subjects which currently are very short. Again these pages just need information so please add what you know so that other visitors can find out about these subjects. The last sections are for pages with markers that indicate what kind of attention the page needs. These mostly involve finding references either in the books or some form of Word of Brandon. The dispute and clarification lists contain pages where some of the facts aren't quite correct, so if you feel up to fact checking then go ahead and see if you know how to fix the issues. The missing citations list contains the articles with the infamous [citation needed] label. A lot of these may be facts talked about in the books, but some may be from interviews or other interaction with Brandon. If you know where the fact exists, then hit the edit button and find the {{cite}} you want to replace. If you don’t know how to use the reference templates, just write in where your reference appears, for example {{cite|Elantris chapter 4}} or {{cite|http://....}} if it’s a link, and someone who knows the reference templates can come format them. This will push the article into the potential sources list which shows all articles with ideas about where a reference can be found for a citation request. I totally admit that it’s a daunting task to start editing, especially with the complication of the references system. So if you want to help but don’t understand something, just send us an ask, or email me or send me a pm on 17S. You can also ask omnia-fortunae-commito (WeiryWriter on 17S) or Windrunner or Eric (Chaos) over on the 17S. The project pages themselves are very basic and rough right now, so if you take a look and find yourself thinking that some other information would be useful, just ask and we’ll extend them to include other information or to better explain what the lists are.

Well hey there Aidulin, and welcome to the site. It would be great if you could contribute your knowledge to the coppermind, instead of splitting focus to two different sites? I get that you want there to be a presence on wikia, but the majority of people are going to find things through google (like 80% of our traffic comes from search results) I personally would think it more useful to improve the copperminds pages to be awesome and complete, rather than distracting people with two places to edit, with potentially conflicting information (just because both sets will probably be incomplete in different ways). It's great to have more wikiers around, but the coppermind could really do with the help rather than dedicating your time to reinventing the wheel.

Yeah making the interview site better for mobiles as well as better in general would be much easier than making an app for it
-
I'm looking into it, tho I'm kinda confused as to why it has started playing up as nothing changed since days ago EDIT: talking with the host I think we found a fix, the server software seems to have sprung a bug recently which hit us for some reason.
-
maybe also add {{ref/transcribe}} or something close by *shrugs*
-
I agree, it can be made the actual article now. Thanks so much for doing that Weiry
