  1. Well, look at this quote again: This implies that the speaker is part of a group of heralds who chose "that creature" (Szeth, most likely) to carry Jezrien's (my lord's) blade, probably with Jezrien as a part of the group included in the "we".
  2. Burning a hemalurgic spike might be painful, but I'm not suggesting that Miles' armbands are hemalurgic.
  3. I do see the scar on the surgebinding chart, but not on the chapter heading picture of him. Hmm...
  4. That quote from Brandon is probably the most confusing thing I have ever heard from him.
  5. Of course, but then he would have to store health in the goldmind, then take it off and shave it down and swallow it, then burn it while charging a new armband. So he would still have change his armbands out regularly.
  6. Can you even charge a metalmind from another metalmind? Also, how would charging shavings work? Wouldn't that be like trying to charge a thousand little metalminds separately?
  7. Jez could have given his blade to Szeth.
  8. Ok, I have a question. Does Miles swallow the gold that he has Health stored in? Or is he able to burn it directly from his armbands, since the pierce his skin and are partially inside his body?
  9. Reading this topic, I'm pretty sure that Crossroads of Twilight is probably what got me to stop the first time through. So maybe I'll just have to finish Winter's Heart for my reread and then try to get through CoT before moving on.
  10. So now we have magicfishspren to theorize about. Cool.
  11. Awesomesauce. Szeth is the herald who still has his honorblade. (Joke)
  12. So is a Ryshadium a person too?
  13. Yes, other people have definitly had the visions. In fact, I believe that the Vorin Hierocracy was caused by priests having these same visions.
  14. I recently reread the first several books but I had to stop at Winter's Heart, it was just so dull and I've already read it and I remember that the only thing that happens of any consenquence comes all the way at the end as a sort of cliffhanger ending. I don't remember if I even read the last two Jordan books the first time thorugh or not. I want to get through these so I can read the Sanderson books and finally finish the series, but I'm not really looking forward to to the last 3 Jordan books.

He's not allowed to steal real things because it is illegal. He is allowed to steal accents because they aren't tangible things that can really be stolen (the person still has their own accent, after all) and so is perfectly legal. He's a kelpto, so he has to steal something. Telling himself he is stealing accents is how he gets his fix, so to speak. This reminds me of Brandon's lectures for his writing class, which filmed and poted on writeaboutdragons.com. In the lecture he talks about character flaws vs. handicaps. A flaw would be something the character needs to overcome, like laziness or arrogance. Wayne's kleptomania is more of a handicap by Brandon's definition. He doesn't have to overcome it. Instead, he has to cope with it. He probably won't ever stop having the urge to take things, so he "steals" accents and "trades" things.
  16. I love how he uses "Sandersons Third Law Of Magic" in his writing, which states that you must consider how magic will impact the rest of the world. I love all three laws but this one really makes all the difference. WoK is a perfect example of this. You can see rotspren and how it reacts to water and anesthetics, so the medical field developed much sooner than it would have without that. You can soulcast food and shelter for armies, which changes the logistics of battle drastically.
  17. You're up again.
  18. You all are probably missing some critical Aspect to the clue.
  19. Heh, sorry but he doesn't count as being "immaterial".
  20. Still not the correct version of the planet.
  21. No, but you have the wrong version of the right planet.
  22. No, but good guess Aether.
  23. Immaterial meglomaniac monarch.

Yeah, it's a character quirk. He's not allowed to steal since he's a lawman still, so he trades things and "steals" accents, which are intangible and therefore will not be missed. It's like a smoker chewing nicotine gum. He's a compulsive thief so he finds ways of making it ok.
