  1. I enjoyed this series a lot. I really do not mind elves and dwarves and all the old fantasy tropes as long as they are handled well, and Sullivan did an excellent job. Also, I would like to point out that the books were initially picked up by an indie press, but then that press went under and Sullivan got the rights back and self published, and then was picked up by Orbit or whoever his publisher is.
  2. 59: I believe Brandon has said that Odium could leave the solar system if he wanted to, but he would have to leave a bunch of his power behind and he's not inclined to do that.
  3. Yeah, with Legion Brandon is experimenting with a different format of storytelling. It's more like a serial than a series...but I'm not sure you could even call it a serial because a true serial probably wouldn't have finished off the Isreal mission in one book, and would have been even shorter than Legion was. So yes, it's like Shardlet said, episodic.
  4. What was the tradeoff when Harmony changed the threshold for snapping?
  5. I love this idea. I think you can do great things with it. Have you read Brandon's 3 laws of magic? The third one says that you must consider the ramifications your magic system will have on the rest of your world. So, as others have indicated, how will this affect how people view casual touch? What will this do to the economy? Will chiromancer craftsmen exist who focus on making items that give different effects? I can imagine someone with a peaceful soul crafting relaxation chairs that would sell for a premium. Or a warrior who forges chiromancy enhanced weapons. But that would mean he would have to specialize in both combat and forging and at least dabble in chiromancy, which would probably be very difficult.
  6. Buy, I'm pretty sure the Letter hints that they all knew each other. WoR will reveal that Elhokar already knew what the Cryptics were at the end of WoK and he has some nasty, sinister plan hatching.

Also, I think that Ferrings are the result of mixing allomancy with feruchemy, so maybe an allomancer can't be a full feruchemist unless they gained the allomancy from lerasuim or the Well, aka TLR.
  8. The Alethi are in a war that the Parshendi started by assasinating their king, right after they signed a peace treaty. Taravangian, on the other hand, has ordered the assassination of dozens (at least) of rulers. Not only that, but he also ordered Szeth to make a spectacle of it and murder hundreds if not thousands of innocent bystanders in the process. This can only result in untold chaos and death, as has been pointed out. These are acts of war that Taravanigan initiated against other kingdoms who have not wronged him or his nation in any way. He seems to believe that what he is doing is necessary, but his methods are all wrong, and are as likely to lead to widespread chaos and destruction as the Desolations he's trying to prepare for or prevent.
  9. Come get your Metallic Arts Trading Cards! Find the rare Twinborn Combo Cards to learn the names of every possible twinborn combination, along with descriptions of how to defeat them in battle. Can you find and collect all of the super rare Compounder Cards? With these cards you will be fully equipped with the knowledge of how to defeat any Metalborn you come across. Disclaimer and warranty: Do not try fighting Metalborn at home. We are not responsible if you try to combat Metalborn and are injured or killed in any way.
  10. It's a good theory. It makes sense that Skar would do this. I will say that Brandon didn't actually say there was an Asmodean like murder. I'm not going to find the quote because I haven't finished that series and don't want to stumble on a spoiler, but it was more along the lines of there being a disappearance that he thought the fans would be talking about more, and that he wasn't going to imply that figuring it out would be as easy as Robert Jordan thought figuring out Asmodean's killers identity would be. Ok, that was a really complex sentence...but hopefully I got the idea across.
  11. Buy. It's her flashback book, and there really is no reason for Brandon to hold back since it was pretty obvious in WoK that she had one...so drawing it out any more would be pointless. We'll learn who Thaidaikar is.
  12. Hmm, good catch on #3. I put the #1 and #2 down to the fact that Stephen seems to be on the verge of losing control or whatever it is that Ivy is worried about.
  13. I think the WoB that you're referring to is more about the amount of Lerasium it would take to become a savant. If you have access to that much Lerasium you basically hold enough of Preservation's body to become the shard, which would mean that whoever holds the shard would have to divest the major portion his or her body.
  14. I'm pretty sure there was mention of some kind of catalog, or at least a system for organizing books into subject matter.
  15. I think the people of Sel are going to give Odium a run for his money if that's what he thinks.
  16. What software did you use for this?
  17. Make sure you read this absolutely true and accurate story before you decide to go back and kill Hitler.
  18. It's an easy mistake to make. It looks weird. <-----look, i after e, even with no c
  19. Oh, right, a normal bloodmaker probably wouldn't get along with a hail of incendiary rounds as well as Miles would.
  20. Yes, there is this little theory I proposed awhile back that the prophecies that led to the Hierocracy were true, and the same visions that Dalinar is having. P.S. It's i before e in this case, even though that rule doesn't apply all the time. I made the same mistake in another thread and someone pointed it out to me.
  21. You're forgetting that Miles kept dynamite around so he could blow himself up if he ever got tied up, and he used it. No way an incendiary round is going to do anything to him. Napalm might be an effective, if horrifying, way to wear down a bloodmaker's reserves of Health.
  22. Here's the quote: http://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=977#85
  23. Harmony's metal, maybe.? Also, the men in red and gold are obviously representatives of a cigar company on the southern continent. And that the southerners discovered a fourth metallic art that requires smoking cigars that have metal shavings in them.
  24. Here's another quote:http://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=977#174 So...yes it looks like the atium is reforming, or is about to, and someone knows something about it.
  25. When you consider driving across several states to attend a book release. Some of you are actually considering flying in from across the ocean. Madness. Man I wish I still lived in Utah right now.
