  1. Because she's The Creator incarnate, and can do what she wants.
  2. True that! I lean heavily on the secrets of Plate being revealed next book. Brandon can't hide the truth forever!
  3. Do you suppose the lesser spren act as the framework? Because that makes sense to me, that the lesser spren direct where the stormlight solidifys, given that stormlight is (highly likely) not sentient. Overall, this theory makes a lot of sense to me.
  4. You know you're a Sanderfan when you see this book and think "really? A Mistborn knockoff? Come on, have some respect!"

    Shardplatecast!

Not so much relavent to the content of this episode in particular but I think its particularly amusing @Chaos Chaos: Shardcast comes out Thursdays Shardcast: *Comes out on Fridays* Chaos: Fine then! Shardcast comes out on Fridays! Shardcast: *Comes out on Saturdays* Chaos: *Glares* Shardcast: *Grins smugly*
  6. True, however, if you think about it, theorizing is quite the creative pursuit. Though, as a whole, I tend to view the Shard as a microcosm of the larger Sanderfan community: we've got artists and roleplayers, theorizers and speculators, Arcanists and Archivists, musicians and meme-makers. Though honestly, given only 34 people have taken the poll, it might be a bit early to judge the overall trends.
  7. I personally feel that a combination of the proto-radiant spren theory and the solidified stormlight theory is the best option. Especially given the fact that Kaladin attracts Windspren in Shadesmar (no easy feat) right before he attempts to speak the fourth oath (associated with gaining Shardplate in the Windrunners according to the Gemstone Archive) However, the "geometric outlines" described in Jasnah's experience, don't seem to match the feel of the cousin spren idea. However given that we know investiture generally follows the general phases of matter; it seems to me that stormlight as most often described, is the gaseous form of Honor's investiture (akin to the mists). So it makes sense that the lesser spren act as a catalyst for a sort of crystallization process for Stormlight.
  8. I'm a Lightweaver. I'm honestly surprised It's not more prevalent, given the general creative disposition of the Sanderfan community.
  9. I'm happy to say that it's a wonderful film. Carol was a pretty dang compelling character, and Fury had some solid character-building. Also, the 'en media res' approach to the story really reminded me of Stormlight.
  10. Well, I'm 2 days late, but happy 1 year anniversary of me being on the forums! Time flies when You're discussing theories, participating in Roast Battles, and having an overall great time^_^

  11. I'm not against female characters, what I am against is poorly written characters. So long as Captain Marvel is a well written, believable character with personality, I'm in. (To tell the truth, I'm now so invested in the MCU I'll see it, and cultivate my own opinion). To tell yet another truth, the storyteller in me rebels whenever entertainment/good storytelling becomes less important than a political statement.
  12. Aw, thanks. As a sidenote, I worried that such a fun thread had died by the time I got around to it.
  13. You know you're a Sanderfan when you hear about a huge storm coming in and I was like "Highstorm", and then I asked what direction it was blowing in from (hoping it would be east). Nope. Turns out it's coming in from the west. My reaction as follows. "The wrong way... It's blowing the wrong way. They called it the Last Desolation, but they lied. The Everstorm comes!" Everybody else in the room:
  14. Thanks, I'm looking into it. Sounds good so far. (now just to wait on my library to pick up a copy of the first book)
  15. Well depending on your preference, book 7 is either wonderful, or the beginning of the slog.
  16. Well, given the content level, afraid I'm gonna have to pass. Hope y'all continue to enjoy it though.
  17. Best coaster to have a cuppa on by far These are so cool!
  18. SA 4 Release Party?
  19. Ok, I'm looking into reading Malazan. I'm pretty fine with learning curves, but I can't find a decent description of the content level. Is it more PG/PG-13 or more R?
  20. I concur with this sentiment. @Ashspren, you take care of yourself now. Hear?
  21. But, if the Heralds don't have bodies on Braize, how exactly do they get tortured? Hooks and flames and whatnot. Unless you think that Kel's experience with Hoid is anything to go by for all Cognitive Shadows.
  22. You have me hyped! Storms that's good!
  23. I'm learning French at the moment, and Tien is literally a French word, and it's not ok
  24. We Mistborn need not make sense...
  25. Just when I thought I was over Tien...
