  1. honestly, same here.
  2. I think it means that you'll either A. Do it all for Lady Edelgard B. Cut a bloody path
  3. I mean, it's not like I try to hide that fact . So, in summation, if you think you'd get along with James, you'd probably get along with me.
  4. I mean she's pretty powerful, but I found her to be even more fragile than Lysithea and Annette (Although, I may have just gotten some really bad RNG, and Black Eagles was probably my most unbalanced line up, with Byleth being at least 10 levels higher than the rest of the characters by the final chapter of Silver Snow).
  5. James is probably my favorite RP character of mine. Of course, he is my first, so that is probably a bias of mine, but I really like how his character has developed over the course of TKND. Though he's not without any struggles in writing him (For instance, I had initially wanted to write a Lightweaver character, so writing a Bondsmith was quite a bit different than I intended.) However, of my- albeit minimal- number of characters, he's definitely the easiest to write, and I think the reasoning for that is quite simple. James Freeman is a somewhat fictionalized rendition of me. So when I come to scenes where I have to think about how James will react to a given situation, I first look at what I would do. Now that's not to say that we are entirely the same, and that there's no differences between us, because those do exist (For example, James is probably a bit more extroverted than me, by nature of it being an RP where character interaction is super important). But I guess that's my nugget of wisdom to aspiring RP writers: Write a character that's similar to you before you tackle the wildly different ones, Or, to say it shortly, "Write what you know." As far as other people's characters go, I really like reading Shana, written by Sorana. She's very ruled by her emotions, but that's precisely what makes her so interesting. I find her myriad of support relationships really interesting to read, because they're all so different from each other
  6. You know, I actually quite liked it how it was. (But then again, what can you expect from a meme but something odd, but endearing)
  7. It's actually going much better than I expected. I expected to have to go through the whole learning curve of the game again, but I've adjusted to the new control scheme rather well.
  8. I'm working on it as we speak
  9. "I am Ferdinand Von Aegir"
  10. "It's my pleasure." James said with a grin, "It's always nice to meet new people."
  11. James held out his hand "James, and you must be Ashlyn?" he asked
  12. The only skepticism I have with Cultivation having a hand in the shattering of Honor is twofold. Odium notes to Dalinar that if he were to be freed he would immediately go after Cultivation. Honor and Cultivation were also fairly obviously involved in some form of a romantic relationship. Thus, it isn't uncommon to see Cultivation played as the Vengeful Lover, who is after Odium's metaphysical head.
  13. I have the general plot figured out, but this is all I have at the moment. Also, it is so nice to know that other people besides me find this story interesting. Duly noted on the POV stuff. Generally I want to keep chapters to 1 or 2 POV switches, and in the best case not at all. Also, I'm glad you liked the Innkeeper's song- that little ditty was inspired directly by 'Master of the House' from Les Mis, and was my indulgence in this chapter.
  14. Thank you for your kind words Jay! Characterization was one of my larger worries, given that Jerrin's dead by the end of the prologue, and Aeven is kind of fulfilling a 'mysterious character' archetype
  15. Please let me know what you think!
  16. James walked into the kitchen, the delicious smells assaulting his nostrils. "Well, I, for one, am famished." he noted.
  17. Welcome to our lovely corner of the internet @Grim_Aeonian! You know, one of the things I love most about Stormlight is the whole focus on people changing and becoming better, forgive me if I speak amiss, but if such a philosophy spoke to me strongly, I cannot imagine how strong it must have been for you. I look forward to seeing the unique perspective you'll have on the works of my favorite author. Welcome once again, and I hope you enjoy your stay.
  18. Well, I just bought HK on Steam, and am attempting to play it with a keyboard. Wish me luck
  19. This is merely my curiosity speaking, but what brings you to this conclusion? Everything I've seen about the show thus far leads me to believe that we've got qualified people who are knowledgeable about the source material showrunning and writing; and from what little we saw of the table read, the actors involved seem to know what they're doing.
  20. James turned around to the sound, and saw a new face staring back at him. "Hi, I'm James" he said with a welcoming smile. @Aragorn
  21. James smiled warmly, "I agree wholeheartedly"
  22. James walked up to where Shana and the happy couple were standing. "Congratulations!" he exclaimed, going over and shaking Jace's hand. @ShadowLord_Lith
