“My instincts haven’t fluctuated either,” Price said, looking warily to the two gods and the necromanced boy. Negation. It was their instinct that had done this. “You said instincts are natural,” he said, looking to Negation. “And that you all don’t choose, but if that is the case, then why does no one have your instinct?”

flamesinger theory The Universe
I think I am here. replied to John Flamesinger's topic in Roleplaying
“The sun will explode?” Cheh asked and suddenly got very worried. “But, But, you can stop it right?” He asked John, scrambling for words. “You said you could control fire, isn’t that what the sun is?”- 502 replies

“Just keep holding my hand. I don’t know if I can transfer it to you from range yet,” he said and watched her smile. He envied the ease in which she could do it, show that emotion without second-guessing herself. Well, Rob supposed everyone could do that. But the truth was years of practise meant it was difficult for Rob to show emotions even if he tried. He didn’t even physically think he could cry anymore. Slowly, he led Ashlyn over the surface of the water to the deep end, which felt soft yet solid underneath their feet. Their steps created small ripple surface which travelled the length of the pool. “Oh no, it looks like I’m slipping,” he said jokingly and began removing his hand from hers very slowly, one finger at a time. His tone didn’t match the words though and so the joke just seemed deadpan. “Looks like you’re doomed.”

“Just about,” Alask said, watching her slight-off movements but too tired to connect it to any particular thing. He looked where the other woman had gone, almost certainly one of the guilds, judging by her confident body language. But it wasn’t Alask’s business to pry into who met who. He nodded his thanks to the waitress and strapped the baton to his side, as well as activating the safety on the taser and keeping it in his pocket. “You shouldn’t need those,” Shez said. “You have me.” But what if I need to hurt someone who’s not breaking the Rules? “You shouldn’t want to. You should only hurt people when the Rules are broken. And then I’ll hurt them.” But what if they’re not breaking the rules, but still doing something bad? Shez paused. “I still get confused by this morality thing, Alask. Good and bad. What are they? Morals are labels.” That doesn’t make any sense. Shez hummed and Alask stood from his stool. “Mart’s at the Forge?” He asked Lena.

Wes kept up the eye contact, then slightly nodded, tapping his pencil against the chair he sat on. It didn’t really matter who else knew, he supposed, just that people had been saved. And the people who really mattered anyway would know. It was a point Wes deeply wanted to concede to the girl, but deep inside he didn’t find it a satisfying conclusion to his problem. Why? He thought. I’m not like those politicians, who want to be popular and on the news. I’m not selfish, or narcissistic, am I? But still, the treacherous thought that he wanted to be noticed, for others to know what he did still lurked around, like a spren keeping to the shadowy places of his mind. Was it bad to want recognition? “You’re nice,” Wes said, looking down at the pencil he was tapping the chair with. “Did you come here to help people as well?”

“And so without further ado, the first people to be promoted tonight are as follows: Mr. Itiah squinted at his notes. Who the storms was Mustafa? “Michael Austen! Wesley Miller! Seom! Zan! Anthony! Tels! Get up here and collect your certificates, and a promotion of Assassin I. You all are underlings no longer!” The crowd went wild clapping and Wes paled. He’d been chosen?

“Strengthen anything,” Rob said, walking forward. “I can harden cloth into blades, or turn play-doh into armour. It’s still the same material, I don’t change it into something else like Leona can. I just... change their properties.” He walked to where the water met the edge and stretched out his hand. “I can also do it for other people. Do you want to walk on water?”

“I... guess,” Wes said quietly, reading from the square. He looked up to see her stare at him, strong and unflinching, and he immediately cringed under her gaze and looked down. He pulled his cloak over himself again, tried to appear smaller. “It’s just, I don’t know. Like trying to work with an axe above your head when she’s around. Or any one else of them really. The high ranks, you know?” He focused his eyes on the projector screen behind the boss woman to give himself an excuse to not look Wes - the other Wes, in the eyes, and caught glimpse of the faces of the missing team. Help, yes, he could help them. Make a difference in their lives. See their smiles. He could imagine the victory from here, the team looking at him again. You’re actually pretty cool, they’d say, or something to that regard. The sound of someone else getting a questionnaire woke him from that daydream. No, he hadn’t succeeded. He was still here, in the meeting room, with the broken coffee machine in the corner and a messy stack of questionnaires on one of the desks. And with the Righthand standing in the same room. “And sometimes, I can’t help but imagine the powerful people get all the credit for the good things,” he said quietly, treacherously when the Righthand was so near. “No matter what anyone else does.”

Price nodded, sat down with Sagitta. Gods. The surprise had already set in and set his mind aflame. The fact that the gods even existed was crazy enough, but two of them were here, talking to Price? Wait, did they say Entropy was currently a Tühinine General? He felt a stab of pride at having a god as part of his country. But still... if Entropy busied themselves with the war effort, why didn’t they just use their power and end it? “It...” he started, but yes. It was rare. Very rare, in fact. “It took a lot of interesting circumstances, I assure you. Maybe Probablility was watching us before you and decided to have some fun.” Quickly he glanced back to his closed ledger. Study weapon applications. It seemed haughty, to even imagine to contain the power of a god. But, he suspected if it was successful, he’d be the most successful Tühinine in history. Maybe that would make up for not being a soldier. Maybe he’d be enough then. He shrugged. “Who knows?” Then answered it. “Truth, probably.”

They were gods. Actual gods. Price stared wide-eyed at the Cahayan boy, who'd been dead only moments prior. And dead for a while, Price had seen it with his own eyes. Tearing his eyes from the gods he looked at Negation with a new light, then took out his ledger and scribbled ceaselessly. The Gods are real. Study combat applications immediately. Snapping the book shut he looked at Negation in disbelief. It seemed Sagitta was shocked too. "Sure," he said, when she asked whether they could sit down. "Though I am unsure why you'd need to ask. You're... gods."

As Zokora started Mr. Itiah checked his watch. The smokestone had malfunctioned! He frowned for a second, maybe he'd have to get one of those metal-circle watches some day, even if they did look a bit odd, with all the gears and all. As Zokora finished Mr. Itiah flashed another smile at her and the audience and took his own microhone, switching it on. "Thank you for that riveting introduction, Zokora!" He said and looked to the audience. Slowly, he made his way over to center stage, talking as he did so, running over the schedule in his mind. First up, the speech. Something about the beginning of the guild, how far they'd come. Gesturing slightly to Vio to begin the music ( @Oduim's Chmapion ), he also nodded slightly at the head chef and food began being prepared for after the promotions. "You know, every time I look at this guild, attend one of these nights, I'm always caught off-guard by how far we've come. No, I don't me or you specifically, but us." He gestured to the crowd with a sweeping gesture, the Ghostblood tattoo on his palm reflecting the glow of various spotlights. "Sometimes, I remind myself we started out as simple assassins. That was all. An assassin guild before, but now, we've grown so much, endured and evolved over these long decades" "Over the years, guilds have come and gone. We've seen the vanquishing of enemy guilds, like the Uninvested," the crowd chuckled lightly at the memory of the long-extinct guild. "And we've seen the birth of new guilds, like the Scholar's guild." He was about to mention the Church as another new guild, but reminding the audience of that probably wasn't a good move politically, even if they had mended that issue. "And now look at us! Attending our own event in our own city, to celebrate the success of various Ghostbloods who have done wonders for both the organization and the world! Even in the Ajax Invasion, possibly the biggest event to strike the Alleyverse in 10 years, brave Ghostbloods not only contributed directly to the removal of the Vortex, but alos to the downfall of his army and the ending of the invasion." He smiled. "Not bad for what was once a simple assassin guild, right?" "So," Mr. Itiah said, spotlights swiveling on him to emphasize his next words. "Without further ado, it's time to announce these Ghostbloods, who will be receiving a promotion through our ranks. After that, there will be a short break, before he announce the annual medals of honour and valour. Then, we party!" Mr. Itiah ended his speech and as the audience clapped in anticipation an underling ran to give Mr. Itiah a stack of certificates before leaving the stage. "Let the promotions begin!"

Price looked up as the sky was swallowed by clouds and lightning, then immediately disappearing again. Instantly his mind shifted to a rumor he'd heard about a specific drug some herbalists made, that caused hallucinations. But that wasn't quite right, Price hadn't eaten in a while and even then, those drugs couldn't be activated and deactivated on command. Stepping a little to the side, so he wasn't fully behind Zura he stared at Tion and the stranger (=Gati). "And..." Price said, building on from Zura's question. "Why have you come here?"

Just A Short, Friendly BATTLE TO THE DEATH
I think I am here. replied to AonEne's topic in Inactive RPs
Holy storms, Itiah thought as all of the other Itiahs were frozen and he landed on the rough ice. The thread is moving way too fast for me to keep up. Maybe I should move fast too to make up for it. Itiah became a blur, speeding over the ice and treading on A.C’s footsteps so it didn’t cut him. Runnng forward he tried to jump tackle A.C just as the other Itiahs began to thaw.- 123 replies

The stranger’s nonchalance unsettled Price and he backed away, behind Zura. A part of him detested going behind a Cahayan in a time of danger; most likely Cahayans were the danger, but now it seemed this... stranger, whatever nationality they were (Price couldn’t tell) was enough of a worry. Negation? Did they say they were Negation? Then, another man appeared claiming to be Sensation. The Sensation. His clothes were weird, they seemed to have some sort of ink. Perhaps they were merchants, with all of those weird inventions that were of no practical use. Price frowned and looked at the both of them. “I think it’s interesting both of you say we’re irregular, when you two are some sort of travelling merchants maybe claiming to be gods.” Price narrowed his eyes at Tion. They must have overheard their situation and thought it was the right moment. “Go to someone more gullible for your scams.”

Ice. I liked ice. Laughing Itiah spread his arms and a dozen and a half other Itiahs appeared around him. We all pointed at A.C. and charged forward with enhanced speed and strength. Each of us was the real Itiah, and each of us was not. That was a perk of never knowing whether you existed or not.- 123 replies

Someone appeared out of the bushes and Price stood up shaky, stepping away. They said their own theory on instincts, that it was natural and not the gods’ choice. But... why did they use words like ‘us’ when describing the gods? “Who are you? And...” he looked around at the neighbouring foliage. “And how did you get here? We’re in the middle of a forest.”

I politely decline the soggy bread. Wait, I think as I remember my actions before. I had been written in third-person before, in this sme thread! Itiah realised this was all part of his enhanced-existential crisis, a constant changing of perspective and POV so even the audience was confused to what I was doing with my vampire powers. “Um, so do we fight?” Itiah said, readying my weapons.- 123 replies

“We don’t,” Price agreed. “But then, it means that even if bad people can do more bad with instincts, good people can do more good. And maybe that’s all that matters. If I got to choose...” Price paused. “Everyone would start out with one, and then judging on what they did with it, good or bad... they’d get to keep it or it would disappear. That seems the best option.” Price looked at Zura’s drawing. It was nice, but Price wouldn’t say that. Being alright with a Cahayan was a long away from being happy friends. “Or maybe the gods don’t have enough time to decide that. Maybe they’re above our puny struggles.” He laughed, a short, sharp ‘ha!’ than anything resembling a natural happiness.
