    "Oh yeah," Jamie grinned, "I know not to overburn my metal. It's something I learned from a dear friend. Don't flare your metal constantly, even during a fight. Flare means to burn the metal more, and get more out of it."

    "Well, the metal doesn't last forever. Some burn quicker than others. Pewter burns fairly quickly, so I carry quite a bit." Jamie said, then shrugged, "Burning too much can be very bad, 'cause you don't notice pain or exhaustion until it's fatal."

    "Oh. Hi Cassie!" Jamie smiled somewhat awkwardly at Cassie. "I'm sorry for leaving, it's just that I'm tired and your friends are a bit overbearing."

    The comment was made (mostly) in jest, but this feels like something Ark would do.

    "I dunno. It's luck. Like I said, I'm not a scholar." she stood up, leaving the coffee cup on the table. "I'm gonna go outside for a bit, so I can relax." she grabbed her pack and meandered outside.

    "As I already said, I've got pewter Allomancy. My Feruchemy is a bit odd. I can store up luck, or Fortune, and use it later to make myself lucky. I've used it once or twice to avoid fatal wounds. It's really useful, especially with my pewter."

    "Um. No. I wish. Most Metalborn can only use one power with one metal. They're called Mistings if they Allomancy or Ferrings if they use Feruchemy A few can use two powers with two metals. That's me, a Twinborn. A smaller amount can use all metals with one power and are called Mistborn or Full Feruchemists. A tiny fraction of all Metalborn ever are Fullborn. They can use all the metals with both powers."

    "There are sixteen metals, which both Metalborn use. I have a sheet some where with all 36 Allomantic and Feruchemical abilities. And um, yes, someone can be both an Allomancer and a Feruchemist. You're looking at one." Jamie finished and took a deep breath. She had drank all the coffee, and was starting to feel a bit fidgety.

    "Why?" Jamie asked, "People marry based on who they love, not how powerful their kid's gonna be. Plus, marrying an Allomancer or Feruchemist doesn't ensure you'll have a kid who has powers."

    Jamie tentatively shook Ben's hand. "Ok. I'm no scholar in the Metalic Arts, but I'll explain a bit to you. As the name implies, the Metalic Arts are rooted in metal. The first art is called Allomancy. It involved metabolizing metal to gain power. The second art, called Feruchemy, allows you to store attributes, like speed or strength in metals and draw them out later. In both the Arts, the type of metal is important, as are your genes. Both powers are hereditary."
