[DAWNSHARD SPOILERS] Rysn's RoW Interlude Prediction
Czernobog replied to Shardsplinter's topic in Stormlight Archive
Truly off the wall would be if Change was the POV for the Rysn interlude. (Apoolgies...the pun was screaming for release.) -
It interfered with the Windrunner's ability to lash the other Radiant, yes, but the Windrunner himself was wearing his full plate. The other Radiant's plate provides protection against lashings, but the Windrunner's wearing plate does not interfere with the Windrunner's ability to apply lashings. My point is that a Windrunner's Plate is highly unlikely to interfere with the Winderunner's agility and ability to apply lashings. i.e. Khaladin in Plate would likely be more agile/deadly, not less so.
-
Dead plate certainly intereferes with both a Windrunner's lashings as well as use of surges when wielding Jezrien's Honorblade (according to Szeth). And while the Windrunner Radiant from Dalinar's vision could not lash his companion Radiant while he was wearing plate, the Windrunner Radiant was wearing his own plate without any observable ill effects. It would be exceedingly strange for a core component of the magic system to interfere with itself, or somehow lessen its effects, especially when it is granted only with higher progression.
-
Possibly so. This is the only one of the ten I can remember being explicitly named.
-
The tenth name of Honor, Elithanathile, means He Who Transforms. Is that somehow related or connected to the dawnshard Change?
-
Please don't let Sigzil be the Mazrim Taim of the series!
-
Wouldn't it be wonderful if Hav happened to be wandering around Urithiru.
-
My thoughts on that front are here.
-
And Lopen, being Herdazian, has Singer ancestry. So the Rua/Lopen non-verbal interactions fit.
-
Reminds me of a hypothetical discussion years ago with friends regarding vat-grown muscle tissue, sourced from cells from a pig: would it be considered Kosher or halal? The food would no longer be from an unclean animal, because it's just muscle tissue growing in a nutrient bath. It doesn't chew the cud, but it also no longer has split hooves, because it's just muscle tissue growing in a nutrient bath. Etc., etc. Interesting to ponder.

How Did It Get Here And Other Questions
Czernobog replied to Child of Hodor's topic in Stormlight Archive
I've always wondered...is there a definitive WOB indicating Nightblood was awakened on Nalthis, as opposed to, say, Roshar? Couldn't find one in the WOB coppermind (using someone else's copperminds can be so challenging ), but my search terms may be off. -
Nikli say says So...upon what grounds other than Roshar have the Sleepless' hordelings trod, to witness a world ending? Ashyn? Threnody?
-
Not certain why, if Cultivation possessed a Dawnshard, she would give it away. Especially to a "lesser"-mind human, where it would be less effective against Odium.
-
-
Or "different" could merely mean that (at the time of that quote) one dawnshard is not currently held by any mind.
-
Not certain I agree. When he was conversing with the other Sleepless, he said he had one more idea to deter the expedition, but he needed help.

How Did It Get Here And Other Questions

Yay! Much appreciated, and cannot wait! -
I immediately assumed Nikli was siah, once tattoos were mentioned. Didn't expect him to be dysian.
-
He has an aviar, but I don't remember a larkin in any scenes.
-
Chiri-Chiri, the bound one used by Nale...where/who has the remaining one?
-
So was that Chiri-Chiri? Maybe a larkin bonding a mandra leads to a temporary supercharging effect, similar to a Windrunner speaking an Oath?

1) I was a long-time itenerant lurker. It was when I discovered this post by Wisdom, containting the most beautiful ketek I had ever or have since encountered, that I created an account; never replied or liked, but merely admired from afar. 2) I now grow cranky if Shardcasts appear later than I think they should. 3) The new expanded video content is quite fun.

Reading Radiant admitting that other proto-personas are trying to form and emerge, I had a fun (though pretty unlikely, I think) ride in a thought train careening off the rails. While reading that bit, for some reason the phrase "shadows of self" sprang to mind, not due to events in the book bearing that phrase as a title, but merely as the phrase itself. Knowing that Brandon likes to throw curveballs in upending expectations... Could Veil and Radiant be considered shadows of Shallan? If so, might there be seven more personas forming, and struggling to emerge, leaving Shallan with nine shadows? As I said, probably not, but fun to ponder.

That would be the literal interpretation, yes. Degradation of spirit via division is more the direction I was pondering.
