  1. Plus Kaladin's Windspren, and Shallan's illusion that had Plate on.
  2. No, I remember the thing with Dox's wife, and I know that Sanderson would absolutely use something like that as a character backstory thing, just in this particular scenario it doesn't seem like what he would do. Solely making a character strong because she was sexually assaulted seems like pennies when compared to the amount of things Sanderson likes to do to important characters like that.
  3. Previous Bondsmiths may not have been able to overcharge, and it may even be unique to Dalinar's section of the three Bondsmiths. We don't know yet. Yes, perfect gemstones exist, but in this scenario and the likely eventuality that Odium launches an attack during the Weeping, he will likely have stolen most of the perfect gems like he attempted to do with Honor's Drop, causing even more issues.
  4. Vasher needed to stop hiding, needed to reveal some things about his Phantoms, as he had plans that would require someone else knowing about them. Stormlight spoilers in the full explanation: Pretty sure that was just Vasher trying to take a load off his conscience. I'm sure he feels guilty for doing that to so many people over the years. Those Breaths are his emergency supply, in case he was unable to acquire enough Breath to stay alive at some point or needed to do something suitably dramatic. I don't think he intends to take the throne again, but he wouldn't have set up a bank account of Breath without foreseeing a potential use. There was always a plan for Vasher to return and so he likely set up a tale to pass down about how he would return and what he would look like, along with descriptions of the other Scholars in their lesser forms to prevent just such a deception. Don't take any of this as complete assurance, my copy of Warbreaker has been lent out for a very long time now, so I'm working off of what I remember.
  5. I don't consider that a complete curse, though. After all, there is a period of time in which no highstorm regularly passes over Roshar. Lift would be able to Surgebind during that period while everyone else would have to rely on the extremely limited (proportionally to what it was before, at least) Stormlight in the perfect gems. Granted, this becomes less of an issue later, but for now, with Odium likely aware of this limitation among the Radiants, it has potential to be a boon as well, should Odium choose to launch an attack during the Weeping. It is fairly lopsided for now, though.
  6. Hey, don't worry. My stuff is that good stuff, that TUBA certified stuff. At least it is today. I probably should have specified in the beginning, honestly.
  7. There's not really a wrong way of replying. If you're responding to multiple portions of the same message in different chunks, you can quote the sections by highlighting and hitting the "Quote This" box, or just quote the whole thing at once if you're in one of the threads where there's a lot of conversation threads happening and only want to respond to one person. EDIT: Here's the thread on Site Rules if you want to look through it: Elhokar is a fun character, to be sure.
  8. Welcome to the Shard! Who is your favorite character so far? Also, would you like some bread? Also also: I like your name because I'm a major Roman nerd.
  9. I see you've been experimenting with Silk a lot recently. It does work nicely for making the wispy spren shapes.
  10. Yes, the boon and curse are there, that wasn't the point of contention. With the Nightwatcher, most of the boons and curses are more cut-and-dried than what Cultivation gives you. Cultivation gives you what you need, the Nightwatcher gives you what you want. The lines are significantly blurred. To use the example of Dalinar, the boon and curse were very nearly the same thing: the removal of Evi from his memory and cognition. This allowed him to forget and forgive himself in the short term, while assuming that was the curse, when instead the curse was that the memories would come back eventually. This alone, though, was not solely a curse, either, because it allowed him to resist Odium's offer to be champion. There is no black and white when you're someone like Cultivation, who can see the future to an extent and whose whole purpose is to make things grow. There are only shades of light and dark.
  11. Alright fair, thanks.
  12. Is there a specific person to ask about rating Nightwatcher things like there is for Epics, or should I just leave it here and allow it to be more open-ended?
  13. I think most of the changes regarding old Radiants vs new Radiants is the fact that Honor is dead. They used to have direct involvement with a mostly immortal being that had a vested interested in keeping them structured, allowing them to keep a much more rigid form of their Orders. With the difference in time, the Radiants are a more idealized version of what they actually may have been as well, distorting the perception further for our friends within the story. Whether the Orders will even out will depend on several influences, including how strict of an influence these first-generation New Radiants give for the future and whether another Shard becomes directly involved with the development (be it a new Honor or an Honor/Odium combo or Cultivation or some combination of all of these options) or if it's left entirely to more mortal influences. I wouldn't trust, though, that the ones we see at Thaylen City will be the leaders. I don't think they're all going to survive, which might cause some issues for the future of their Orders if they remain the only ones in that Order, which is a stretch with the flood of new Radiants bonding spren of all types (except for the ones that aren't bonding, like inkspren and lightspren).
  14. Throw Clubs in there just for the laughs. Trio of gruff soldiers.
  15. There would probably still be a curse.
  16. I prefer to call it Steve.
  17. Clubs and Galladon would be hilarious.
  18. I would be surprised too. It doesn't seem like something he would do.
  19. It is odd, to be sure. I have yet to find a way.
  20. NO IT ISN'T
  21. Don't take Ark's cookie. My bread is much more wholesome. PS Ark I'm not letting you get all of them in one fell swoop.
  22. Hello! Welcome to the Shard! What have you read so far? Also, would you like some bread?
  23. Welcome to the Shard! What's your favorite Sanderson magic system? Also, would you like a cookie?* *TUBA certified cookie, of course
