Hoid has the best for Hoid in mind. He's searching for a way to do a certain thing involving someone precious to him (a mentor of some kind, the one who was originally named Hoid) who died, but as to what that way is and how it would affect the rest of the humans is unclear.

Is human is stretching it. He was human at one point, but according to Sandman, he really isn't anymore.

Well, they are probably like that because, well, honor and all that. The Stormfather more of less lays down the rules for them, so he accepts the Oaths for them as well, as the largest chunk of Honor left.

Decreased power, likely. There really wouldn't be any reason why a spike chain wouldn't work, up to a certain point where the charge is negligible.

I had a sort of similar thought a while back, but the main issue with that is the amount of Stormlight needed to power something that large, no matter the use. It would be interesting if the fabrial was there to help with the Oathpact/trapping Odium thing or with putting Honor back together. Or the most crazy thought: it's there to combine all the Shards together, which would mean due to the fact that there's not enough of them for each Shard, more multi-Shards are on their way.

I get the feeling he's end up some kind of Shenanigan Ideal Radiant. On the one hand, he has a Blade. On the other, he doesn't have a spren beyond the Blade until he (probably) gets to the Third Ideal.

Kind of, but Nightblood has multi-Shardic chunks of Investiture, including apparently a sizeable helping of Ruin's Investiture (sizeable as in it's more than the background bit in everything). That...sounds like a really bad idea.
