  1. Anyone? ...What attack on Swan? I never attacked Swan, I never even voted Swan (seriously, that is, they were my poke an hour into the game) and by the end of the turn I was tentatively village reading them for their final post. This reasoning of yours isn't suspicious, it's just wrong. Edit: I would write this off except for that I'm pretty sure this is your only post, and in it you only referred to Azure as Azure and Tuatara as Tuatara. You never mentioned Ostrich or Opal in the thread. Perhaps in a doc? I know that's kind of ridiculous but it's still something I noticed.
  2. I'm really curious what the vote history was. I might have to painstakingly figure that out but I won't complain if someone else wants to.
  3. Penguin unvoted me with a green that I had to look close to see, though it otherwise matches mine. It is! And thanks. This style just so happens to be starkly different from my normal one. I think I'll drop it slightly but not entirely.
  4. I don't see the correlation between that and not caring, though I suppose it's possible that you do. This more than anything is what honestly makes me want to drop the formality thing because it's just... wrong because I do care. And if the tone I'm going for gives off the opposite vibe then that's my bad and I'll fix that by talking normal, even if it's less fun.
  5. I suppose that's fair enough, even if you're wrong. I guess I was feeling especially poetic right then or something. I'll try to drop the manner of speech a bit come next cycle cause once it starts interfering with how people read me then it's gone too far. Which is a shame, but ah well. I did feel obligated to make it- I was confused by their vote switch. Though that's likely not what you mean. I'm disappointed (in who, though, I'm not sure...) that you imply that I do not care. I merely skimmed the actual content there, mainly noting how many there were, which apparently was my mistake. I don't particularly like any of the options for voting, though I guess since it's D1 that shouldn't be a surprise. This most recent Swan post reads genuine to me, however.
  6. This is simply the same issue Penguin found. It's just my way of speaking this game. If it's a problem and interfering with people's reads, then I can stop, but I'd rather not as it's pretty fun It is exactly what I said when I wanted to understand the motive behind someone's vote, as that's what I was asking. I worded it like that because I'm speaking weird/formally this game and I can stop if you want. I too find it interesting that myself and Albatross are your two foremost suspicions yet you mark us as not e/e (though I cannot fault you for this as I have done it myself before) and also that you don't vote either. Not that I'm complaining. But I suppose this paragraph was rather useless as I cannot fault you for that either, as I again have done something similar as village before. That being said your train is rather interesting and I'm not opposing it even if I won't join it. The Tuatara train died down. Noted. I just woke up, so do with that what you will. It was a welcome surprise that I'll be able to get to each rollover before it happens, thanks to the push-back. I think I mentioned Elephants once, in my Mavset-im example post? There was another animal there too that escaped my memory, though I'm fairly sure they aren't in the game. I did that purposefully, or tried to. Exactly. Depending on the ridiculousness of the question, this wouldn't be too difficult. Why me over Albatross? When comparing how many 'posts of note' you gave each of us, Albatross is clearly ahead. And I explained mine, though in all fairness you haven't seen it yet since it's in this post, above as I'm typing this. Or I guess by the time you're reading this you have seen it. Hmm. An interesting thought experiment.
  7. I recall saying that I would explain if it was wished of me each time. No one asked me to. Not stating a reason for a vote is not something inherently suspicious on its own. You might have a point if I don't have a reason for my votes and retractions, but I do, and I think you're overstating how much I did this, as I only can recall one or two, and even that's a stretch. Melon Dingo. This is not a retaliation vote, and it may not stick, but I'm not sure if I'll be on before rollover. You subtly slid in earlier how we shouldn't grab the Scholarforms, a damaging comment amidst what was else a well put-together analysis, and now this. I am no stranger to paranoia. Or being a presence in the thread. I don't fault you for this- though Ethid may be softspoken, I certainly voice my opinions. Though I'm dominating the thread simply because no one else is. And because Rhinos are rather large creatures. ~ Ah, Mouse showed up. And irked me by voting Tuatara. Along with telling the elims exactly who to give their hypothetical Scholarform gemstone to. Not sure how to feel about that. Edit: Caught Heron's remark at the end about Lion's identity. I myself have predictions for Vulture, Scorpion, and Beagle, though I'll keep the specifics to myself.
  8. I don't think a conversion through Scholarform would ever happen without the villager's consent because even if you have a gemstone you cannot use the powers without consuming it with an action. This doesn't necessarily mean conversions can't happen, though, because there probably are some villagers out there who would turn given the chance. Or perhaps not, that's not something I've ever put thought into before and is an interesting concept. I don't believe I've added my thoughts to the team size. 19 players is a tough one to guess, with no clear-cut size that makes sense, with 4 being a bit under standard and 5 being a bit over. My gut goes with 4 as more likely because of Warform and Scholarform, which is funny seeing as those were your exact reasons for going with 5. I get why you say that the villagers 'should' get extra lives and the elims 'should never' get Scholarform, but that doesn't mean that we will or that they won't, and the distro likely is patterned after the option that the elims could get both. This is a fair point, I admit. I didn't see any red flags but I saw no green flags either. Edit: @Steeldancer Magenta Albatross That is unrelated to anything else in this post. I reread some things and changed my mind, and I can further elaborate if anyone wants. I need to reconsider before I vote, but I will vote. Hopefully before the cycle ends, though if I foolishly sleep through it I apologize. I may be back in the next few hours, and then may be back in the last one, we'll see.
  9. If you mean my formality, I assure you this is simply something I'm doing in an anonymous game to lessen the chance of my identity being discovered, with the added bonus of it perhaps being more difficult for Mavest-im to imitate me if they so choose to take over my body in the future. Like, I can talk like how I normally do, but where's the fun in that? If the formality wasn't it then idk what was, cause it's not like I'm actively trying to phrase my posts a certain way or anything. But yeah I'm seconding Hyena's request for elaboration if you have it, even if I kinda think the request was a way of further trying to validate their vote. Anyway, back to formality. I'm voting for Albatross because of their vote on Tuatara. To me, even though Tuatara makes points I don't agree with, the way they made those points seems village to me, largely because of how blatant they were about it. I would think an elim would be more careful. This in turn makes Albatross look suspicious to me since they jumped onto an easy train, but you can't really share this reasoning unless you read Tuatara village as well.
  10. This could potentially work, but another less-damaging way would be to simply wait until someone can no longer speak in PMs. The food for thought here is excellent, however. My village reads as they currently stand are Vulture, Tuatara, and perhaps Lion and Hyena.
  11. The odds are the same, going by pure probability. But I don't think Swan deserves to be killed for their vote. In my opinion, if the elims are looking for a train to pile up on, they are more likely to pick Tuatara's over Swan's if both are village. I find it mildly interesting you vote Swan for piling on Weasel when you have no indication on Weasel's alignment. I did the same for Albatross and Tuatara, but I think Tuatara is village. You have no idea if Weasel is village. If they're elim, Swan likely isn't. Learning both of Tuatara and Swan's (or whoever the competing train ends up being) alignments could potentially be very useful later on when considering how the D1 votes went. If one is elim, the other's train likely has elims as well. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
  12. Can you perhaps elaborate? I may be able to offer further clarification on anything misunderstood.
  13. I don't disagree, and that's not why I voted you. In fact, that's exactly what I did. We just happened to pick opposite sides, my vote fueled by how you used yours.
  14. As much as I disagree with Tuatara's thoughts, I have a hard time believing them to come from an elim for various reasons. Upon rereading their post a few times I think them village. As such, I will vote Magenta Albatross for leaping onto their train without a second thought. Heron also would qualify for being voted for this, but Albatross truly put the train into motion.
  15. Consider me... confused. *** Ethid did her best as she walked, alongside her people, to keep the memories of the distant past in her mind. It was hard, in this form, but this form was necessary. Soon she would be able to live in the Rhythms once more, but she would have to stand the dullness a day's journey longer. Her past seemed like she had heard it in a story rather than lived it herself. The memories surfaced as if drawn with water- there, for a moment, but soon dried up- leaving the surface bare and hot. Ethid was hot. The sun beat down on her and even in her current form she felt the heat in its fullness. How could she make it one more day? Ethid knew the answer. She would make it because she must.
  16. Yes, thank you. I agree with everyone disagreeing with this. You point out how basically every role available to us is 'elimmy' or 'useless' and advise those who get an extra life to say so, which isn't smart. I'm not sure an elim would be this blatant, however, so I won't vote you just yet.
  17. Wait, I really don't think I understand Mavset-im then. It was my understanding that- okay, say Elephant is Mavset and Axolotl is a villager with Scholarform. Elephant targets Axolotl with their kill. The writeup then will say "Elephant died, they were Mavset!" and we'd know that now someone was abducted and is the actual Mavset- that being Axolotl, who Elephant now has control of. What happens in that situation, then? Would the writeup say "Elephant died, they were a villager with Scholarform", taking Axolotl's role and applying it to Elephant, even though the person who started with Elephant's account now has Axolotl's? Or something else? If you can I'd appreciate if you made up some scenario like this to better illustrate this because I honestly have no idea.
  18. I think when Mavset-Im uses their kill, their original bodies' death will be announced and we'll know. So until then we shouldn't be any more paranoid than normal. I also don't think the role would make the team smaller, seeing as that's the only ability they have and it doesn't change the ratio all that much.
  19. I'm liking Vulture's thoughts for the moment. I believe their interaction with Penguin was caused by a misunderstanding and nothing more; when I read through Penguin's post nothing struck me as off except the way they worded a few phrases. That in itself is NAI. My comment about Dingo, however, I do not think stemmed from a misunderstanding and I would still like an explanation for that. I similarly agree with Vulture about going for the gemstones the elims prioritize first. These in my opinion include Scholarform and Warform at the top, the latter edging out the first, and perhaps Workform/Meditationform and Nimbleform, depending on a variety of things. Ideally we have three villagers going for Warform, but there's no reliable way to coordinate that and by claiming you've taken Warform you've also made it useless, so do us all a favor if you do and don't say a word. The same goes for all the forms. I don't think we should try to coordinate anything about taking gemstones because it'd be too difficult to do that and keep the elims in the dark about who has what. The fact that Hyena prioritized Mateform so high is interesting to me. @Steeldancer, do forms stack? Or when you take a new one does it get rid of the old one?
  20. And leave the elims- who I'm sure have a very good idea which gemstones they want- to snatch them both from under our noses? I don't think so. Edit: Those who are PM happy should be careful- making one uses an action, rendering the creator unable to take a gemstone.
  21. Actually, my name's Ethid. I don't much like conversing, but I'll do my best. To be honest, I didn't as much as glance at the old PMs belonging to this account, though there were many. Maybe I'll have to do that later. Personally, I would like to avoid using the no exe option at all if we can. I will vote. Coral Swan was evil the last time these accounts were used, so why not give that a shot? If there is a reason other than simple RNG for your vote, do tell. Though I'd be surprised if there was.
  22. The stars are within my reach once again.
  23. Journal of Solemnheart, Day Seven Post-Illumination, Taldain So I am dead. Not today, it seems, but dead all the same. Technically I am dead any way. A missive I received from a planet called Nalathis seemed to have a similar peculiarity before the death of Endownment, but I have not been able to track down any more information. But I am... a Cognitive Shadow, tied to all three realms by strings waiting to lose enough power to be cut and fade me into oblivion. And at least my Physical ties will be cut, soon. Perhaps today. Perhaps tonight. Perhaps the next day but I think no later. If the power of Preservation is activated I may draw further breath, but I have seen my home and its sorrows and I have seen the stars. So, here is what together makes a... will, I believe is the term? Azure Mouse, while it is you that have certainly killed me, you did so with honor and did not let the words of the damned go unheeded. For that I thank you. If somehow you find this original journal... look in its back cover. You may find it Illuminating. Opal Lion, the new Vessel... if you are on Sel still, please take care of Opa. Melon Dingo... no. Just... no. Saffron Iguana, I would appreciate if you took up my work. Farewell, until we meet again. -Solemnheart
