Mint Heron. Begone, fowl creature, from this land. I hereby banish ye, with the powers invested in me, for I alone know what cometh. Fear me, and my name, a wizard cloaked in green, a wise man, in many ways, a burning spark in the night sky. You have earned my ire, and with it, my wrath, and with that, my anger, and with that, my vexation, and with that, my rage, and with that, my excessive use of my reservoir of synonyms. Oh gosh what am I even doing.- 1054 replies

I'm sorry. I wish I had time to RP or something with you guys. I just don't. *cries* I would totally love RPing too. Also, tbf, I'm an Elim, and there's not a whole lot left for me to do except troll you guys at this point. Which I would totally do. Except I also don't have time to do that either. *cries*- 1054 replies

Umm. Mauve isn’t an Elim. Nice try, though. Good to know we’ve still got some mystery up our sleeves. But really, Mauve is in fact an Elim, he’s just trolling you. Face it, with no windrunner, you’ve already lost. WHICH IS IT!?!?!?! BWAHAHAHAHAH- 1054 replies

Sage Kangaroo replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Lol. If I was really an Elim, would I have told you my real role? It's far more likely that I'm a worldhopper who pulled Elsecaller for a cycle, and, lacking a spark of originality, just gave you what was, at that moment, true. I'll protect you! I've been protecting you one way or another this whole game, actually. Couldn't have our most helpful, most vocal player dying on us, could we now? This was, in many ways, the inevitable outcome. I'll have you know that I have access to knowledge beyond your wildest dreams; I have seen the future, and this was the only possibility. Like I've said, I've seen the future, if through a hazy and distorted lens. I was pretty close. Don't you remember? Day 14 -Coming storms ever rage, heralding divine fury. Divine heralds raging, Everstorm comes - 14 days. That should tell you all you need to know. These are your final days, Philosopher. Use them wisely. No, please don't claim. Give me this one wish, this last vestige of difficulty in this game that was, in many ways, all too easy. On another note, has anyone guessed my true name? Knowing such things can have the possibility of giving you power over a person...- 1054 replies

Uh. Wow. Ok then. That's pretty impressive. I wish I had that much time or commitment to actually getting something done. I really don't. I'm not exactly sure how accurate that would be, though, given all the variables. I mean, clearly it's a bit off. I do wonder, though, what it would look like compared to the Village statistic. Hello Alv. With any luck, I'll be at least two for two now. Violet Axolotl.- 1054 replies

Just had a quick second to read over today, and I think that neither of these lynches have anything behind them. But Vulture's looks like it's got more behind it, so I'll side with Dragonfly here. Probably won't post during the night cycle, or for most of the next day cycle. Sorry.- 1054 replies

Sage Kangaroo replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Ah, yes. I remember that game. I could see that being true. I could see it being totally false, too. If you could give a couple reads, that would be lovely. I'd like to hear what you think, even off the top of your head. More ideas and opinions are usually better, even if they're wrong. It will also be good to have new reads circulating. Hello! Actually, I just don't like Scorpion. It has nothing to do with whatever his alignment might be. He just annoys me, really. Honestly, all my reads are really weak at this point. We've killed so many villagers, and not hit a single Elim, that I'm starting to question both my methods and the makeup of this game. I really hope that there aren't more than 5 Elims. Yeah, that would be annoying.- 1054 replies

Anniversary Game 4/Anonymous Game 1: A Fresh Start
Sage Kangaroo replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I haven't really noticed, but that's not really the point. Looking back, I do see that you've been more active than your post replies, but I was specifically responding to the attitude that post seemed to be revealing. And, while I'm sure none of us want to be told that, sometimes we have to be told things we don't want to hear. And I feel I need to say that "More fun and works out better" for you isn't necessarily what's best for everyone else. I'm fairly certain that there are plenty of people who "have more fun" and feel it "works out better," while doing fairly awful things. I would include an example, but comparisons don't tend to work out well in these sorts of situations. This isn't really the most helpful attitude. If you won't contribute because you don't feel like your contributions will be effective, and if you don't stimulate discussion because no one else is, than you won't really be the most helpful villager. Hmm. I probably over-reacted to that. I read it more as: "I'm not posting because I don't have anything to respond to-" Looking back, I do see that you posted a bit more than I had realized. But that's not the best attitude. "-And my suspicions are vague because I don't feel like taking the time or effort to form them, because it's failed in the past and seems to be failing everyone else right now." Yeah I misinterpreted that post. Sorry about that. Kind of glad I actually went back and looked over your posts, because this was almost one huge scathing rant. Glad that didn't happen. Guess I was in a bad mood. This. I really wasn't trying to be offensive: That's never my intention. I do see that a bit of my frustration leaked through into my post, and I apologize for that. Also, reading over your posts made me realize that my suspicions of you kind of lacked a basis besides what's happened in the last few cycles, and were largely countermanded by a readover of your posts. Scorpion. And I once again find myself in the unfortunate position of having taken my vote off of one person and not having another person to put it on. -sigh- I will say, before the end of the cycle, that I don't really like the Toucan lynch. I'm kind of rushing to get this post in before cycle's end, so I don't have a whole ton of time to explain myself, but Toucan has been pretty active and helpful the past few cycles, and a read over of their RP allowed me to see how much they were actually saying via RP; I had sort of dismissed it as "Just RP." before. Dang I'm learning a lot this game. What fun. Anyway, I think Toucan's not the best lynch. I disagree. I feel like she's been pretty obvious in questioning and analyzing certain players. So, Weasel. I feel like they're more suspicious than Toucan, even if that's not a lot. I also feel like we'll be losing less by lynching them. Sorry Weasel.- 1054 replies

This isn't really the most helpful attitude. If you won't contribute because you don't feel like your contributions will be effective, and if you don't stimulate discussion because no one else is, than you won't really be the most helpful villager. Two votes do not a bandwagon make. Fuschia's vote is a bit bandwagon-y, but even they tried to put some thought behind their vote. And that came after your post, and still only brought your "bandwagon" to a grand total of three votes. The points you made really didn't help you, and I'm not loving your attitude. And as far as Ivory goes, I've seen plenty of things to back up my trust in Ivory. And while it's possible that they're just a very good player who's managed to pull the wool over my eyes, I feel like that's not accurate. Although that's probably how I'd feel if they'd pulled the wool over my eyes. So yeah. IKYK. Anyway, I'm going to stick with my gut because I don't particularly feel like taking my vote off of you and adding it onto one of the many other nascent bandwagons, or perchance starting a new one.- 1054 replies

Anniversary Game 4/Anonymous Game 1: A Fresh Start
Sage Kangaroo replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Ok, I did read over all of Beagles posts, and was actually rather disappointed by the lack of things to go off of. Beagle had a whole ton of posts at the beginning of the game, but in reality, most of those posts were very fluffy. I did comment on that back when I thought Beagle was an Elim, and looking back, I have to agree with myself. Part of the reason Beagle was such a huge influence was because of PMs, and because of how discussion revolved around them. They didn't say a whole lot of really in-depth things; they were just super active, referred to as super active, and had a bunch of people who trusted them for a while. I didn't see a lot of their suspicions that would be in any way relevant at this point, and I'm not sure how much they really can effect the game at this point. I'm starting to wonder if Gorilla killed Beagle just because they knew that he would end up being a huge discussion sink if he stayed alive; People would continue debating his alignment, arguing over whether or not to lynch him, and end up not getting a lot done. And yeah, that's pretty much all I got out of Beagle. Honestly, I think that despite the lower post count, Dragonfly has actually been more active than Beagle, with deeper analysis and more actual contribution to the game. I realized when looking over the game that I was attributing a lot of Dragonfly's arguments for Beagle to Beagle himself, rather than Dragonfly, and the same thing was happening with Onyx. Anyway, I do really trust Dragonfly, which is why this bothered me; No. Scorpion. I'm sorry, but I'm pretty sure there's no way that Ivory is an Elim, between their activity, the tone of their posts, and their actions. Their voting habits might seem a bit off, but honestly, we haven't killed a single Elim yet. So, at this point, pretty much all of us have iffy voting patterns. Another thing I noticed when I was looking over the game is that several people have actively voiced suspicions of you, especially towards the beginning of the game, and that you didn't really respond to most of them; Instead, they sort of just slid off. Also, you've kind of been hiding in the shadows, and done some pretty suspicious things yourself. Yeah this is really odd. What the heck? I'm really confused by this. Also, not super happy with it. This is really interesting. I'm not super suspicious of Albatross just as a whole, but it is very interesting that Penguin died right after voicing some pretty decent suspicions of Albatross. I could see an Albatross lynch. However, it seems kind of odd that Elims would make that kind of mistake. Kind of have to agree, actually. I'd be interested to see what happens with the Weasel lynch, just to get more info out of Axolotl. I took my vote off of Gecko because I didn't feel like leaving it on, and I was starting to realize that their actions weren't really that Elim-y. Later, Gecko actually commented on the fact that I had just stopped talking about them, and that it seemed rather odd, and I explained then that I had realized that it was really just their play style that had made me feel odd. Also, I feel like an Elim probably wouldn't have acted the way they had, early on, although it could have been a cover. Clearly it wasn't, but at the time I wondered if it could have been an IKYK. As for taking it off of Beagle... I didn't want to feel like I was voting for someone just because they were active, and I wanted to get as far away from that as possible. So I took my vote off of Beagle. Voting on someone just because they're active is just against what I stand for, and I didn't like being accused of it. As far as the Weasel lynch goes, I think Weasel could be an Elim. I don't honestly have enough of a read on them to adamantly say one way or the other, but I could probably see them being an Elim. The sudden jump on them early in the cycle was kinda odd, though. The people I trust most at this point are probably Ivory, Toucan, and @Quartz Zebra, who I'd like to hear more from. I actually have a village lean on Vulture as well, but I'm not sure. Everyone else is basically either suspect or neutral at this point. The reason I've put a vote on Scorpion is because I've A; got a bad gut read on them and B; their vote on Ivory feels way off and C; I agree with the other suspicions voiced of them. I would be open to another lynch, though, if I see a better option. There are probably more things for me to say, but I'm running low on time. I will say that I'd appreciate being PM'd; I don't like making PMs myself, but I always enjoy being in them. Plus, it's a very good idea for us to make use of the time we have with them open.- 1054 replies

Anniversary Game 4/Anonymous Game 1: A Fresh Start
Sage Kangaroo replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Overall I get a possible elim vibe from Kangaroo. They appear sort of village, but I can see an elim making most of the posts they did. Well, to be fair, we've only lynched villagers so far. Not sure what else to say about that. And as far as what Elims would and/or could do, the best Elims look like villagers anyway. It's sort of the point. So while an Elim could most likely have made the posts I did, it doesn't exactly say anything. Yeah... I really haven't payed a whole lot of attention to Mauve. I admit I've been guilty of just scanning posts that weren't directly related to Beagle; I really thought I was onto something there. I noticed it yesterday when I realized that Zebra had been pretty active and talkative, but I had dismissed their posts. I had to go back and read over their stuff again. Actually, if they have been "shifting around without real input" then that would explain why I haven't really been able to get a read on them. As far as Magenta goes, Magenta's end-of-cycle post yesterday read pretty village to me, in content and tone. Admittedly, their posts at the beginning of this cycle were a bit odd, but I'm not sure that's a great reason to lynch them. I do sort of see the connection that Penguin made (Although Penguin is another player I've somehow sort of missed.) but it just seems flimsy. I'd go so far as to say all the kills last night were strange. Taupe Gecko was possibly the most normal of the kills, as he appears to have been killed by the Elims, and he was pretty obviously villager. Still, it doesn't seem like the most logical Elim kill. Then there's Beagle. Beagle was clearly killed by Gorilla, as Gorilla couldn't have attacked himself. So, just looking at what appears to have happened; Elims kill Taupe, Gorilla kills Beagle, Elim Worldhopper/Dustbringer kills Gorilla. Now, seeing as the Elim dustbringer must have killed Gorilla, why? And why would the Elims kill Gorilla? Were his reads too close to the truth? And why the heck would Gorilla kill Beagle? Did I miss something? Was Gorilla suspicious of Beagle as well? Basically what I'm saying is, I've got a lot of questions. More questions than answers at this point. Yeah... I'll be interested to see what I think, too. There's quite a bit to go over, which is a bit of good and bad. Beagle had a whole ton of posts, which means a lot to analyze, but he also had a whole ton of posts, which means a whole ton to analyze. I've got a really busy day ahead, so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to post, let alone look over Beagle's stuff. However, I will try to get some analysis done on Beagle before the cycle ends.- 1054 replies

Anniversary Game 4/Anonymous Game 1: A Fresh Start
Sage Kangaroo replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Ok. Fine. I was wrong. There. I said it. Now for some thoughts. This makes me a little more suspicious of Flamingo. As several other players have said previously, it seemed unlikely that both Flamingo and Beagle were Elims; I hadn't really considered this point until now, as it really didn't make much difference until one of them died, and personally, I though Beagle was more suspicious. Clearly, I was in error there. However, since Beagle was a villager, it makes a whole lot of sense that Flamingo started off by attacking them, then suddenly switched sides. I think, anyway. I'm definitely going to have to go read over the thread again, with Beagle's innocence in mind. I'll admit that my view of him as evil has likely colored most of my other suspicions, and I'll have to form some new ones. I would suggest that everyone do the same, as Beagle being village really does give us a whole lot of things to think about. I'll hopefully post again tomorrow, with some in-depth analysis of players.- 1054 replies

Anniversary Game 4/Anonymous Game 1: A Fresh Start
Sage Kangaroo replied to Orlok Tsubodai's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I feel like I should say that I'm pretty trusting of Zebra. The main people I trust are Ivory, Zebra, and... Yeah that's about it. Oddly, those two people now trust Beagle a little more than I'm happy with. This is, of course, not to say that I'm distrusting of everyone else, it's just that I tend not to trust people very much. Also, I'm rather disappointed I missed the end of last cycle. I would definitely have put my vote back on Beagle, for a number of reasons. Also, I'd like to say that it seems unlikely that everyone in the PM were village. I don't know that I can say for certain, statistically, that there was probably an Elim among them, but I would say that historically, most such groups tend to get a player wrong. I'm a little bit suspicious of everyone lurking on the fringes. Toucan is slight village lean for me, although like I've said previously, RP in large quantities is bad for my brain. I'd also agree that we've probably got either a pretty small Elim team, or the Elim team has a lot of lurkers. I'm not totally convinced Onyx is evil, but I would like to see them die for info as well. As for Beagle... That bad read I've had all game persists, and although I'm a little bit worried about myself tunneling, I don't feel like that's quite right. Although, of course, one never does feel like they're tunneling while they're doing it. It might just be that I like to stick with my gut, and changing my mind hurts my pride a little bit. Especially when I've been this adamant about something. But I guess to be a successful villager you have to let go of bad reads. I'll see how I feel about Beagle after tonight, assuming I'm not dead. I'd suggest trying to get the lurkers to be more active in whatever way possible. So, I guess I sort of have to agree with Beagle here, as much as it pains me to say it. But he's right: BE ACTIVE. And that, my friends, is exactly how emphatic you can make text on the Shard. Huh.- 1054 replies

Tuatara looks very village to me. They really do just look like a bad villager. (Sorry Tuatara.) It's not uncommon to jump around when trying to save yourself. Besides, several people have posted suspicions of Flamingo. I personally think it's odd that they went from attacking Beagle to adamantly defending and siding with him, and their voting pattern seems a little bit arbitrary as well. Also, I think that their lynch will give us a good deal of information. There is a little bit of a wagon, but most of the people voting for Flamingo have cited some reason or another, and all the reasons all look pretty good to me. (Besides Tuatara's. They just look frightened.) As far as the PM goes, I also wouldn't mind some snippets from that. Someone saying that there was such a PM would normally concern me, as it could also either be a cover for Elim communications, or an attempt by Elims to manipulate villagers, but the fact that it's you saying it makes me think it was probably a real thing. I can't help but agree. See: My suspicions of Beagle.- 1054 replies
