They lived in fear that the She'ap would one day break through and feast on them. This day became a colloquial inevitable known as She'apickles Day. It was held in the same regard as the Frashokereti, awesome and frightening, and soon the Pickles constructed a religion around it called Picklish, not to be confused with Ticklish, the religion of their neighboring colony of ticks.- 111800 replies

Parshendi. Listeners. Singers. All the same? When'd the names "listeners" and "singers" divide? So they lived on Roshar with Cultivation and Honor. Then humans brought Odium with them to Roshar after destroying their last home with Surgebinding. Parshendi gave them Shinovar. Then...what? Used Surges forbidden to the Parshendi? When did the humans start fighting the Parshendi? I seem to remember something about the humans gradually taking over the homes of the Parshendi. And what's the deal with the spren abandoning the listeners for humanity? I don't remember any of the spren saying anything like that. From what I remember of Syl and Pattern, it seems like they fear the Parshendi and seek to eradicate them for fear of being forced into bonding with them.

Dalinar and co. have been discussing the Heralds as a possible resource in fighting the Voidbringers. I think this idea is hella cool, and it would totally add sauce to the story, but... Taln is mad. Ash is kinda mad, or at least horribly depressed and wants nothing to do with humanity. Nale is bordering sociopathic. Ishar is...somewhere in Emul, I think? Trying to conquer it in some crazy war, which seems the mark of a madman to me, despite what Ashyn says to the contrary. Moash killed Jezrien, and it seems like he intends to do more. I don't know where the other Heralds are, but the Desolation is back and they're choosing to remain hidden, so...

Ninjad Mare? Narrator Night is confused. Are Kelsier and Jasnah divorced? or engaging in a perfectly acceptable "sharing of the goods"? (That means a three-way, for all you brutes.)- 111800 replies

Let's talk about spren politics
The Night Watcher replied to The Night Watcher's topic in Stormlight Archive
Quite possibly. It makes sense that the nahel bond grants unconscious access into the other's mind, as it is a linking of spirits — which, as far as I know, is more powerful than the realm of thought. -
Let's talk about spren politics

Reading all these makes me think of another thing. Timbre was given a name by Venli, yet all the other spren had names from past life. So did parents name their children, or did they name themselves? Because of Timbre's situation, I lean towards the second -

Throughout my reading, spren were the focal point of my curiosity. There was a brief look into Shadesmar in Oathbringer, but even though it was over 100 pages of content, I felt I learned barely anything. If Brandon was intending this to prolong future information, that's pretty impressive. I remember Jasnah mentioning Cryptics are like lighteyes, but Syl also said something similar of the honorspren. I wondered if that was part of their rivalry, one side thinking themselves the superior and thus denouncing the other side. Ivory mentioned that both these spren types were not very well liked by others. Why is that? Another thing that bothered me were Ico and his crew. (I think they were lightspren, so that's what I'll call them.) They were sentient but I don't believe they were one of the spren capable of bonding. I always assumed the only sentient spren were affiliated with the Radiants. How many other variants are there capable of complex thought? And how did they get those abilities? On a side note, I remember Syl saying that she knew spren who hunted some form of lesser (fear?)spren. Do sentient spren view lesser spren in the same way humans view animals? Really, despite all this tangent, all I wanted to know is if you think Brandon will delve further into Shadesmar or if it is a side point that is interesting but somewhat moot.

And the rest of the week was some variant of rainbow in honor of gay pride. He chose the day's order of colors by laying a handful of Lucky Charms on the table. The other Hoa'rses and She'ap took bets.- 111800 replies

So...how do you think Radiants do the do?
The Night Watcher replied to The Night Watcher's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yes, this is exactly the issue I wonder about in reference to Shallan and Adolin... It certainly won't help his "I'm-inferior-you're-a-god" insecurities. -
