    Narrator Pheonix looked at her, confused. Xino is no longer a Narrator, he said slowly. I was created to fill his place in this thread, and in other places he would have otherwise appeared.

    Nekorb screamed. That hurt. A lot. His scream died off as the pain faded. The Investiture was pushing against his soul, trying to get in, but the wall was holding it off. He still had a spike through his leg, however. Hopefully these people knew how to properly sterilize wounds.

    Pheonix looked at her quizzically. What do you mean?

    Exactly. She fell to the Master of Shadows, as did Xino. I am his replacement.

    Narrator Pheonix let out a nervous laugh- but it was strange. Instead of being a noise, it was an absence of noise. I'm, uh, actually not Xino, he said, still in the strange sounds.

    Narrator Pheonix nodded and leaned in close, whispering something unintelligible to the odd non-figure. The figure hesitated for a moment, then nodded twice. The pair left the restaurant in silence.

    Narrator Pheonix waved back, a little nervously.

    Narrator Pheonix peered around the corner and saw Star. His eyes widened.

    Nekorb swallowed. "What... what are you going to do?"

    Ooh, can I have one?

    Draug shot down the street towards the Radiant house, Lashed as hard as he dared. He'd managed to deal with two of the Voidbringers, but one had taken off earlier to chase Doc, Cassie, and Jamie. He was pretty sure they could deal with one Voidbringer, but he was still worried. He was supposed to be protecting these people, after all. As he approached the house, he saw the car they'd taken in the driveway. That was a good sign. As he got even closer, he saw Jamie and Cassie in the backyard, and felt the tension inside of him relax. He landed on the rooftop overlooking the backyard and waved at the pair. "Hello! Did you get home okay?" he called down.

    Nekorb let out a small gasp as he spotted the figure. "Who- who are you? Where am I?"

    Nekorb opened his eyes. Where was he? He tried to move to sit up, but found he couldn't. He was chained up. What? he thought. Why am I chained up?

    Nekorb collapsed as the toxin spread through his system. "Help," he whispered as he fell. "Please..." Then he fell unconscious.
