    [Probably just sick of all these hallways,] muttered Bacon. [I know I am.]

    [This is a really big base,] said Bacon after several minutes of searching. [How many hallways are there?]

    "Hey!" said Erif, moving his sword to face Wrath. "Shut up!" And with that eloquent utterance, he charged, weapon raised. [Uh,] said Bacon. [I didn't think of it. Oops.]

    Re: "Not a perfect copy" also Re: "This is (more or less) a dream" Certainly the dream eater will have an advantage considering the power of the idea it's copying, but it will by no means require Onyx's assistance to defeat. If Ista is incapable of defeating it on her own, then the inspector does have contingencies. And go ahead! If I controlled Wrath I'd just need to ask you a bunch of questions anyways. Just keep in mind that it is aiming to cause as much emotional damage as possible.

    It's not a perfect copy or anything, but this is essentially a dream. So things are possible here (at least in appearance) that wouldn't be possible in the real world. Wrath laughed. "Hello, Ista. Fancy seeing you here. You look lovely, as always." [Onward!] declared Bacon triumphantly. [Onward!] declared Bacon a little more quietly.

    The goo began to solidify. Its emotions were a whirling storm of images- but as Ista opened her mind, they suddenly reflected her thoughts. Her hopes, dreams, and fears all played out in the mind of the strange entity. It began to take a familiar form... Who scares Ista the most? "Goodness!" said the inspector, grasping around for something. "I... would not recommend engaging with it, madam. They are one of the few things that can harm you while in this space." [What did we come here for if not to recon? These are disposable bodies anyways. Well, except for Cricket and Natsu. Maybe they should wait outside. But let's go see your sister!]

    Bacon gasped. [You don't mean... surely not!] The surface of the bird-thing was etched with fine patterns that seemed oddly familiar to Ista. Were those... faces? As Ista studied the strange creature, it twitched against its restraints, letting out a strange hissing scream. The lights in the room flickered. More of the vines began to melt and flow into the creature, causing it to grow. The inspector stood up, pushing Erif aside. "Did you bring this here?" he asked Ista sharply.

    [I do?] said Bacon, bewildered.

    The vine shattered into fragments. Black slime oozed from the broken vine, pooling together into the form of a eyeless bird with tattered wings. The inspector abruptly turned. "A dream eater?" he mumbled, bewildered. "But how...?" The bird let out a screech and struck at Ista with viciously sharp claws. [Who's the person she's talking to?] asked Bacon curiously.

    [That was Ciara, yes?] muttered Bacon softly.

    Bacon carefully peeked out of the room to make sure that presumably-Ciara was gone.

    Bacon did his best impression of a pigeon statue in his hiding place above the woman's eyeline.

    The inspector blinked. "What vines-?" "Shark the vines!" snarled Erif. "What do you mean you can't reverse it? You were the one who set it up in the first place!"

    The screen was covered in symbols presumably only intelligible to the inspector. The black veins on the vines were larger now. "I, I," stuttered the inspector. "Oh, dear..." "How do I reverse it?" demanded Erif, pushing the sword closer. "Tell me how to bring them back." The inspector sighed, slumping in his chair. "You can't. I can't. I've tried."

    Sure would be nice to be able to Narrate for this, thought Bacon. Oh well.

    Bacon flapped up into the air in anticipation.

    Bacon looked in the direction the suit of armor had gone with a puzzled expression on his face, then followed Shoe.

    The man turned. From this angle it became apparent that what had appeared to be his glasses were actually twin crystals extending back into his eye sockets. "Ah!" he said. "Yes. That is me, the inspector. What can I do for you...?" He adjusted the rims of his 'glasses'. "Oh! Erif! I-" He was interrupted by Erif pointing a sword at him. "You trapped my family in a time loop," he snarled. "Explain yourself."

    Bacon looked up. [Coo?]

    "Someone's still here," said Erif, pushing through the vines and walking over to the partially-open door and pushing it open. Inside, a glasses-wearing man sat hunched over a small screen. He was muttering to himself, too quietly to be heard. He made no response as Erif entered. "Hey," said Erif. "Do you know where I can find the Inspector?"
