  1. The man inspected her for a moment longer, frowning, then lit up with understanding. Ah. Roth must have given you a token. My apologies. He smiled. You said you were looking for someone? What is their name?
  2. The man frowned. You are not an Ennuller. Why are you here? How are you here?
  3. She found herself inside what appeared to be a waiting room. A man sat behind a desk, typing at a computer. Neither the man nor the room had any color at all. Hearing Beosta's yell, the man at the desk looked up. Hello. Can I help you?
  4. Beosta fell through the wall as though it were not there. @SpiritOfWrath Sequence took them all to Onyx's realm. The guide showed up and welcomed them. Also, this happened.
  5. "Shall we go, then?" said Bacon, resuming his normal form. The X marks an alley that appears unremarkable.
  6. The map appeared to be of the surrounding area, with an X mark in the center.
  7. Good night. May all your dreams be bright.
  8. "Sorry about that," apologized Bacon. "She isn't normally like that..." "Hmm. It appears to be some sort of map folded into an imitation of a flower."
  9. The guide wept silently for some time. "I'm sorry," said Bacon eventually. "Clearly this isn't-" The guide gasped. Her hair blew back, revealing her face- with only smooth skin where her eyes ought to have been. You must find them, she gasped, lunging towards Shoe. You must find her. You must destroy her. Take this. If any remain, perhaps they will help you. A red origami flower spun from her fingertips and floated gently down in front of Shoe. The guide leaned back, her posture relaxing. And then she was gone.
  10. "Do Ennullers often go rogue?" added Bacon. The guide was silent for a long moment. In the days when Silence ruled, such a thing would have been impossible. But he does no longer. I fear... I fear that in his absence... Oh how we have fallen... "See what I mean?" muttered Bacon. "Crazy." I wish I... I wish I could help you. Guide you. Am I not meant to guide? Oh, Fate! Where is my name? Where has it gone?
  11. Why do you ask of her? She tilted her head. And why do you not speak?
  12. I... my memory is not what it once was. But... yes, I remember now. She is an acolyte- or was. It has been a long time... I imagine she is an acolyte no longer.
  13. The woman stood there silently, waiting for a question.
  14. "Well, she'll show up for anyone if she's needed. Oh, and here she is!" The guide was there, hair blowing in non-existent wind. You have a question, she spoke.
  15. Bacon shrugged. "Yeah, or if she ever heard of an Ennuller going rogue. I mean, it's the only thing I can think of, really. Do you want me to summon her?"
  16. "So have I, counting the one we just met. And the other one was partially crazy and possibly a ghost, with weird floaty hair and no eyes and everything. I suppose we could ask her, but I wouldn't get my hopes up."
  17. "I always got the impression that they were a very strict, very orderly order, with a very singular purpose. But I suppose I only have offhand comments from Onyx to judge by, for the most part."
  18. "Ciara." Bacon rolled the name around on his tongue. "I haven't heard the name before, but then again, I haven't met many Ennullers." He pulled out a piece of bacon-flavored gum and began chewing on it thoughtfully. "To tell you the truth," he said, "you're honestly probably right about needing help. A real shame that instructor of Beosta's didn't believe you. If there is a rogue Ennuller running about, I can't imagine the rest of them being too happy about it."
  19. "That," declared Bacon, "would be a very strange occurrence indeed. I was under the impression that all of the Ennullers worked together." He frowned. "Granted, I'm not an expert... Hm. Did you catch her name?"
  20. "Well, if one would do, they wouldn't- wait." Bacon's frown deepened. "He was working alone? You're sure?"
  21. "Not exactly, I just... wasn't expecting that. Really? A Narrator? And the Ennullers took her away?"
  22. Bacon performed a spit take. "She was a WHAT?" he exclaimed.
  23. "I don't think I internalized it properly. It must be because my brain is made of bacon." He shrugged, then frowned. "Why would the Ennullers want your sister? She wasn't developing any ascendant abilities, was she?"
  24. Bacon blinked. "...what?" He seemed genuinely surprised.
