    Erif groaned, sitting up. "...what happened?"

    The food must be gone. How terrible! Oh well. There was more food, just there... perhaps it would also be as interesting. The crystal of the inspector's eyes/glasses flashed. He stumbled- And suddenly there was an image of two people in conversation. The inspector, and... the guide? "-the Witherlord-" she was saying. She seemed agitated. The inspector let out a cry of alarm and suddenly- The group woke up back in the real world, on the gigantic etched symbol. The dream eater, which had been perched on Ista's head, was fading into dust.

    Everything vanished. It was dark, cold, and empty. And hungry. So hungry. Always hungry. And there was so little food. But this food, this food... This one was full of surprises. It had been one food, then it had been another, and now it was another. This had been good. ("My goodness," said the inspector, awestruck. "I believe we are now hearing the dream eater's thoughts! Who could have imagined?") But now... now the food was no food. This was not good. Where had the food gone? Had it all been eaten? ("Keep it up!" the inspector encouraged. "I wonder...")

    "It seems to be trying to overload us with sensory input..." the inspector finished writing something down on his clipboard. "Yes, go ahead." She would probably enjoy it

    A tornado blew through and lifted them all into the air. A zebra and a man in a top hat drove by on a tandem bicycle. "Tea?" offered Berin. "Hmm," said the inspector. "Fascinating!"

    "Would you be interested in experimentation? I'm curious how the dream eater would respond if you projected, for instance, confusion."

    "Fascinating!" exclaimed the inspector, scribbling furiously on his clipboard. "An emotional response... yes, yes, this makes sense. Now, can you still manipulate the connection? I would very much like to see how different emotions affect the dream eater's approach."

    "It probably hasn't absorbed enough energy from you to create multiple entities yet. Tell me, how were you able to get it to switch from feeding on fear to feeding on joy?" Erif was chattering his teeth, utterly bewildered.

    There was no response from the figure. It was as though Tull didn't exist. "Something is indeed not right! You are currently being fed upon by a dream eater."

    "Do you remember me?" asked the inspector. "Or... those people?" He gestured to Tull and Erif (who was trying unsuccessfully to get someone's attention.)

    Bacon entered the portal and appeared at the other side. "Man," he exclaimed, brushing a suspicious-looking white powder off of his clothing. "Traveling by photon beam certainly is one of the experiences of all time!"

    Bacon shrugged and walked through the portal. "I could, if you wanted me to."

    Bacon conjured spacesuits around everyone in the group.

    "So, where is this Ennuller friend of yours?" Bacon waited for Shoe to elaborate. No further elaboration came. Oh well.

    "As a punishment for trying to rescue your sister?" But he's embroiled in plot, is the thing. With Nogard!

    Ah. Sorry. Bacon was suddenly thoughtful. You know, I figured we'd learn more about your quietude when we visited Ciara. She was the one to curse you, wasn't she? Imma assume you mean TP. Selppaenip is with Subversion and Nogard and firmly out of reach until @NameIess returns. TP gleefully vanquished the pineapples, making sure to take many prisoners.

    Bacon took a consolatory bite of pineapple salad. "On the planet where this Ennuller friend of Natsu's is, it sounds like."

    "Hmm," said the inspector. "It seems she has become engrossed in the dream." He walked over and waved his clipboard in front of her face to test her reaction.

    Bacon lamented Selppaenip's absence as the pineapplenado descended upon them.

    "Ooh!" said Bacon, catching several pineapples and turning them into pineapple salad. "This will be delicious."

    "Something caught your eye and you had to buy, eh?" "It was attempting an attack via fear, but for some reason it switched tactics. Ista, did you attempt to sway the emotions of the dream eater?" Bacon, Shoe, Beosta, Livetha, Yrank, Castom, Cricket, and Natsu. Three humans, two stoats, two Narrators (and a partridge in a pear tree).

    "Actually, we're still in exactly the same place! The dream eater has merely rearranged this pocket of unreal space to suit its needs. As for your friends... I believe they were trying to find me." "Something hold you up?" asked Bacon on the other side.
