  1. Maern strode quickly across the university grounds, mumbling darkly to himself. He’d gone to the investigators figuring that getting information from them would be difficult; he hadn’t expected for it to be completely impossible Apparently the seemingly record-setting passive-aggressiveness of the last set of investigators he’d encountered was downright minimal when compared to others of their occupation. Why, they were even worse than the Archives keepers when you had to explain why you hadn’t returned your books on time! He knew that, logically speaking, if the skindancers were caught at all it would probably be by the people whose job it was to look for them, but for a moment he indulged himself in a fantasy where (using crack investigative skills) he caught the skindancers red-handed right under their smug, arrogant, and predominantly noble noses. He was smiling to himself at the imaginary looks of complete and utter bewildermint on their faces when the snowball smacked right into the side of his face. Completely taken by surprise, he took a misstep off the paved path and faceplanted directly into a snow bank. Sputtering and irritated, he pushed himself to his feet. “Hey!” he called out in annoyance. “What was that for?” ----- In lieu of Bard... @Elkanah @Experience and I think @Haelbarde My brain is feeling absolutely dead right now. >.< Nonetheless, I've practically promised to get some analysis out, so I shall! I've noticed that people have begun to start analysis of earlier cycles than the last, looking more carefully into the whys and wherefores. I wholeheartedly approve, although I'm feeling a little too brain dead to do that myself. In lieu of any better ideas, I think I might as well just pick up where I left off last cycle analyzing votes. I'll start with continuing the chain of votes on Lopen, one of the players tied for the most votes. Cadcom never did wind up moving his vote off of Lopen. I find the open bandwagonyness of this vote interesting. I'm not sure if this adds up to suspicion or not; I'll check back on this once my brain is sane again. This is the only vote that Bard casts this turn, fitting with his pattern of inactivity up to this point. This seems to have changed in the current cycle, which is good to see, but it doesn't help my suspicions that they had to be basically forced into doing it. I was going to go into more detail, but I've been ninja'd a couple times and I might as well respond. I feel you, Elkanah. I think that we ought to aim to get our targets to the point where they have a decent chance of being expelled. I think that if we set off with that goal in mind then skindancers will be less willing to bus their teammates, and we should get more out of each person's votes.
  2. They "accidentally" used a Fireball spell to clean up the spilled wine.
  3. Maern breathed a sigh of relief as the Masters gave his tuition. He could pay that and have easily enough money to cover lodging, supplies and other expenses. Finances were turning out easier to manage than he'd expected, considering his less-than-noble status. Which was a relief- and a much needed one, considering the circumstances. The skindancers had struck again- although exactly where, no one seemed to know. Apparently there was a student in the Crockery, and another who had been attacked under suspicious circumstances. Rumors were flying, and sifting through them to find the facts of the matter was nigh-impossible. Whatever it was that had happened, Maern hadn't been able to stop it. And he was still no closer to knowing who the skindancers might be. His lead on the fire at the Archives had availed him nothing but frustration so far- the culprits, whoever they were, had yet to be caught, and the people he’d approached for details about the incident hadn’t exactly been the most helpful. He doubted that the people investigating these new incidents would be welcoming either. Wait a minute, he thought suddenly. Someone survived this time. He’d gone to question the victims in the Crockery. As he’d more or less expected, none of them were able to recount their experiences in anything resembling normal conversation. This latest near-victim, however, had escaped insanity. Might they have caught a glimpse, a clue? --- @Young Bard, interested in some RP? WGG=Wounded Gazelle Gambit. It's when the eliminators attack one of themselves and then save them in order to build trust. Firstly, a post count. Looking at it, I see that the total amount of discussion is beginning to trend upwards again, which I take as a good sign. Let's keep it up! I'm beginning to realize that spreading my votes out last turn wasn't a good idea. I was actually considering changing them, but then the cycle ended... Oh, well. The issue with spreading the votes out is that even if the targets we select do wind up being eliminators, they aren't really going to be more than slightly inconvenienced if the votes are too widely spread. Both Bard and Lopen got off with nothing more than a 2-talent deduction. With that little of a penalty, it becomes much more feasible to bus a teammate. For that reason, I think that we should try to condense our votes more this turn. As for the attacks this turn, I think that Bard being the skindancers' target and Striker succumbing to the Mews makes the most sense. Whether or not it was a WGG, I'm not sure.
  4. He recieved bakin' instead. (The cook had failed Parrot in college.)
  5. Sheln blinked. That's... all? "In Colorado." he said slowly. "But your people already know that- they've tried to attack us there before."
  6. Hasty words, said Samuel mildly. I never said Fate wanted plot. Not here, at least.
  7. Samuel lauged, a little sadly. Child, Fate's nature is to co-opt. Did you think he came up with we the mimes on his own?
  8. Of course you're allowed, said Samuel. No one ever said you weren't- and you wouldn't have to listen to them if you did. Of course, he continued, raising a finger, just because you created them doesn't mean that other people have to respect your wishes for them. He gave Nameless a serious look. That's something that Fate had to deal with too, you know.
  9. They don't know his motives, though, or even if he's a perfect logician or not.
  10. Their name was Finaglius Minakian C, and they were not a Narrator.
  11. No, said Samuel, but they don't declare it, do they?
  12. "Equivalent to an oath," said Sheln. "That's what you have, right? Oaths?"
  13. How are the people on the island supposed to logically infer anything about what he would have said?
  14. You push me away, said Samuel quietly. You push all of us away. Do you want to end up alone?
  15. Canon? said Samuel What canon? I see no canon here. He stepped forwards and poked Nameless in the chest. I see only words spoken by a soul desperate for recognition.
  16. Nameless's Narration echoed across the landscape, stopping everything in its tracks. Mime, character, Narrator- all froze where they stood as they felt the painful clash reverberate through their souls. Excuse me, said Samuel in an even tone, manifesting himself from silence in front of Nameless. I think you'll find us harder to ignore than that.
