  1. The game may not have begun yet, but may I propose an pre-game amendment to Rule 201? The rule says "In mail and computer games, players shall alternate in alphabetical order by surname," but not all of us may be comfortable with revealing our real names. Given this, I propose that "albhabetical order by surname" be replaced with "numerical order by member number", something as equally immutable as a name. (Your member number is the number in the link to your profile). Also, here is the rules doc.
  2. I respond in the affirmative, and suggest a new thread be made.
  3. Jaxevist walked with his head down, trying his best to ignore the crowds of workers and drones that the group passed by as they made their way towards the center of the Outpost. It was fairly pointless, of course, as his latent powers made the... altered ones instantly apparent to him regardless. But at least it meant he didn't have to look at their eyes. Most people would have called the gazes of the lesser Hyxali empty or even soulless, but he'd spent enough time around Hyxali workers and drones to be able to read their alien expressions. It wasn't that they pointedly ignored him, pretending that he was no more than a piece of garbage on the road- he'd seen his shares of those in other places, but not here. It wasn't that their expressions were angry and vengeful, full of unreleased frustration. He'd seen his shares of those, too, and he sympathized with them. It wasn't even that the stares were empty, loss and sorrow reflecting in hollow gazes. He'd seen that, too, and it twisted his soul- but the stares of the Hyxali were much, much worse. They were adoring. Hate me! he wanted to scream. I'm a monster, not a hero! But it would have done no good. He'd lost his temper and shouted at a group of workers once before, and they'd just kept staring at him with those grateful, child-like expressions. That was why, when his gaze caught a face frozen with horror staring at him, he was almost relieved. ---- Abigail watched through the window with astonishment. Walking down the tunnel towards Rekaerb's dwelling were a set of people she'd never thought she'd see again. Fadran, Nath, Ene, Vapor... with, of all holed, the High Chancellor. He was second only to the King himself- what was he doing here, in a backwater colony? And, more importantly, what was he doing with everyone else? Curiosity got the better of her, and she stepped through the door to get a better look. She scanned the line one person at a time, noting the newcomers- until her eyes fell on the last person in the line. A holed. A red holed. For a moment, she just stared. Red. The red of pain, of blood, of fire. Burning and bleeding and screaming, the world falling to pieces all around. Consuming, energizing, enthralling- She snapped her eyes shut, breathing shallowly. Focus, focus, focus, she thought desperately. Rainclouds, dark and full, spilling deep blue from the sky. Washing it away, away, away... She opened her eyes again, her breathing steady once more. But she was careful not to look directly at the holed of The Color again.
  4. Then they realized that they were also bucks. So they became currency.
  5. "Anyone else want to come?" asked Santonio. Elaine held her hand up with only a little uncertainty. With a sigh, Jaxevist followed suit. @AonEne @Enter a username @Mist "Thy loyalty does thee credit," spoke the green. "Alas, thy friend must answer for his crime. It is not mine to decide whether or not he shall be freed, but the King's." @Nathrangking
  6. Well, shoot. I know very well I am not elim, although I don't really have anything to prove it. This must mean that the elims- including Drake- are very confident in winning this turn, even with a total lie. There's simply no way for me to realistically persuade people off my vote, so... Guess I lose again :P.
  7. The solution, of course, was that he had done it twice.
  8. Santonio suddenly took a deep breath, his eyes flashing open. Green light flashed as the transfixing released. The green holed said nothing, looking to the white for guidance. "Fine," spat Santonio in a clear and rasp-free voice. "You can come too, if you want."
  9. "That's just how greens talk," said Jaxevist. He sounded... resigned. "Every color of holed has their quirks. Trust me, it could be a lot worse." "I hold none of thee captive save one," rebutted the green. "Thine transfixed friend assaulted an imperial servant in the execution of his duty. He will face trial for his crimes." He flicked his gaze to Vapor. "As for the King's request... I can assure thee that thine friend's freedom shall not be compromised. You are, after all, honored guests."
  10. The ostrich suddenly realized it wasn't a marble.
  11. "Well," said the green, "thou art welcome to try again, when we visit. But you shouldst not consider your victory certain." "Indeed, you should hearken to thine friend. Conflict will profit you nothing. Dost thou wish to be enthralled?" Shadow continued to pool into Santonio.
  12. His blade was stopped by a flash of green light, freezing it in place. The holed snorted. "Oh, are we exchanging pointers now? If it be so, perhaps I can match thee." He leaned forwards. "I would advise thee not to antagonize the being which shall soon rule thine land." Behind him, tendrils of shadow began to stream into Santonio's frozen form.
  13. The green holed looked at him impassively and vanished the segment of the bridge Fadran was standing on, leaving nothing between his feet and the bottom of the chamber besides a few hundred feet of air.
  14. It was at that moment that the vanishing spell took hold.
  15. The green holed thrust out both hands in a dramatic fashion. Two bursts of green light shot forth, one at Santonio and one at Nath. The green light freezes the target(s) in place, transfixing them utterly. "Cease your rumblings, dog," proclaimed the green. He turned to the rest of the group. "Must we repeat ourselves? You, girl," he gestured to Vapor, "come here, ere I decide to enthrall thee." @Vapor
  16. The ostrich got confused and started acting like a marble.
  17. Pheonix swallowed. "Okay," he said, feeling strangely nervous.
