  1. He knew, for instance, that you shouldn't dip apples in mayonnaise - without knowing what either of those were.
  2. Ashley watches all the other women shoot off into the distance. She wonders dryly whether or not they'll notice she's been left behind.
  3. "Erased her memories. Left her an empty slate, ready to be filled with anything she wants."
  4. Kemos put his earpiece down, hand shaking. Was this really happening? Were the blightweavers truly going to war? He supposed he should have expected it, given the return of the Fallen King. Still... this was a bold move. Bold as any they had done while the old man had been Witherlord, and at the height of his powers. He supposed that was why they were calling in extra help. He sighed and turned to one of the communicators that a particularly savvy Myrkaal had hooked up somehow. He tapped it once. "This is Kemos, leader of Ashborn, servant of the Fallen King, hailing the Curse of Death..." Kemos tapped the communicator impatiently as he waited for a response. At last, it came. He leaned forward to hear the answer. "Yes." He breathed a silent sigh of relief. "Where should we meet?" he asked in return. "To discuss terms." @Enter a username
  5. Ashley sighs, following at a slower pace.
  6. "Rishmaveta has shattered my daughters soul," said Jeffery with a tone full of ice.
  7. Ashley allowed a slightly chuckle at that. "Yes, I suppose. It... well, you'll see." "Almost directly east," she said, pointing.
  8. X's avatar consoled Ene in the fact that xinoehp had missed most of his own milestones as well.
  9. "Ghosts," said X-6574. "I know how to handle ghosts. How do I know that?" He hummed thoughtfully to himself.
  10. "What are Cognitive Shadows?" asked X-6574.
  11. X-6574's viewport flickers back to life. "Where... where are we?" he stutters.
  12. "It attacked my lab," she explained. "It's saliva landed on me and did... this." Ashley extended her arm. Dotted along the sleeve of her worn and used lab coat were spots of pure white.
  13. "If you're looking for monsters," said Ashley, "you needn't look too far. There's one about a day's travel from here."
  14. "Some can," said Gerald. "Legendary swords are more likely to be magic, although sometimes their value is mostly symbolic. Yes, I am Gerald."
  15. Gerald tsked. "Well, we'll work on that. If we're lucky, the sword is magic and gives you the ability to use it."
  16. "A... creature," said Ashley. "It attacked our lab." @Channelknight Fadran
  17. Shadow whirled around Jeffery as a blue gemstone appeared in mid-air in front of him. Gently, almost reverently, he pulled the gemstone from the air. He closed his eyes and reached... * Memories swirl inside the sapphire stone. They rush past in a river, oldest first. He is familiar with the ones that come at first, though he remembers them through different eyes. Suddenly, a flash of red. A flash of brightness and pain in faded and dull recollections. Now unfamiliar years race by. His daughter grows, and her father is not there. Those who watch closely might see a slight wetness at the corners of Jeffery's eyes. A reunion (too late? who can say?). The recent past flies past in a blip as he presses onward towards the truth that he has already begun to fear. Nath's offer. Jared's pursuit. A dangerous dealing he cannot stop. His daughter at the feet of a goddess of death. A silent forest lit by a moon in a starless sky. A pair of golden scissors. And then... nothing. * Jeffery opened his eyes. The tears were gone. "Rish has gone too far," he said, his voice colder than a rock in the deep void of space. "What she has done will not be excused. Cannot be excused." Decrin's gaze was intense and questioning. "Does this mean..." "Yes," said Jeffery, meeting Decrin's gaze with solid black eyes. "This means war." @Nathrangking @Vapor
  18. I don't know what to do :P. Kings_Way, I guess. Maybe a villager, maybe an elim bus. Who can say? I know stalling the game doesn't help us, though.
  19. Ashley caught the pack and opened it carefully. She inspected one of the food items inside, which appeared to be some sort of colored gelatin. She sampled one. Fruit flavored. Delicious. More important, however, was the fact that they were willing to share food. Few people would kill someone they had just shared a meal with. Hostiles cleaning up after the main attack would be more likely to engage on sight, since there was no conceivable other reason for her to be in this area at this time. They could still be agents of the mimes here to capture her. Mimes were honorable folk- the kind that would give food to a captive. But that would still mean they weren't planning on killing her straight off. And to be honest, they didn't really seem like mimes. Ashley debated whether or not to give a fake name for a moment, then dismissed the idea. If enemies were looking for her specifically, they wouldn't need her name to identify her. She'd gain more by being honest and earning the trust of these people. "I'm Ashley," she said, letting her exhaustion seep into her tone. "Thanks for the food. I haven't had anything to eat since yesterday."
