  1. "Yes. But then again, in the end, that's what everything boils down to."
  2. "Absolutely," replied X's avatar. "Or perhaps had an agent do it for her."
  3. "An Author," piped up X's avatar.
  4. Gerald shook the arm. Out fell the dark red rose. He held it up quizzically.
  5. "Maybe the arm has something that could help with that," said Gerald, only partially joking.
  6. Gerald sighed. "Apparently the arm has a sense of humor," he said, returning the dogs. "But at least that confirms that it has more than that random stuff that fell out earlier..."

  12. "Except recently, of course?"
  13. "How long has she been corrupted for?" asked Jack.
  14. The man shoots upwards, blowing up the lightbulb. "Too yellow, too small, too not a sphere. The orb is reddish-orange, about the size of your head, and perfectly spherical. It also produces power, not consumes it. Pay attention."
  15. The voice thought for a moment and decided not to get into the whole mess of saying anything definitive about Schrodinger.
  16. It was enough to drive anyone round the bend.
  17. "I would have remembered if I had ever met someone as stupid as you," said the man through gritted teeth.
