  1. After Melody responded, Ellis felt a pull from the amulet down the tunnel.
  2. "I am not injured," said Gerald tersely, looking intently at Ellis.
  3. The spirits of the dead rose and drifted off, flowing to rejoin their master.
  4. The revenant moved its blade to block the knee strike, failing to notice Q's second strike until it was too late. The hand fell to the floor, black blood spewing from the wound. The Gray Man smiled joylessly and executed a jerky bow. He backed into the shadow, eyes locked on Ellis's. "Melody!" cried Gerald. "Quick, the sword, before it-" But he was gone.
  5. The Gray Man freezes in place, quivering slightly. The revenant leaned back clumsily, the blade nicking its neck.
  6. Dark sludge bubbles out from the wound as Ellis heals it. The Gray Man pauses, tilting his head slightly as he gazes at Ellis. He waits until Ellis is ready once more before striking again.
  7. The ground squelches. The Gray Man's eyes flash black. From the shadows, two revenants emerge. They charge - not at Ellis, but instead at Melody and Q. In their hands are a pair of well-worn daggers. The Gray Man matches Ellis's strikes with superhuman strength, but he remains defensive.
  8. The Gray Man whips out his own own sword, his mouth stretched open wide in a soulless grin. He moves to strike- far, far faster than before.
  9. The amulet thrummed angrily. Without further fanfare, the Gray Man dropped down the well.
  10. "Normally, when someone is reluctant to relinquish a newly found artifact, that's a really bad sign." Gerald twitched his tentacles. "I've seen people possessed before. It isn't pretty."
  11. "As in, it was there." Cupra pointed down the tunnel, which curved slightly away from the bottom of the well. "Short tunnel. Big gold doors at the end. Impossible to miss." "What do you mean you can't?" whispered Gerald urgently.
  12. Gerald frowned. The fact that the amulet kept acting up was... concerning, to say the least. "Would you rather one of us held it?" he offered. "What wasn't here before?" asked Gerald. "These tunnels," said Cupra. "Before... it was just here."
  13. The wind threw the coin away, for good measure.
  14. "Grace," replied the ennuller succinctly. @The Unknown Aon
  15. "No," said Grace tersely. "Have patience. If we ask enough people, one of them will be able to tell us more."
