  1. I did not shoot, and I did not tell anyone I was a Coinshot. Can someone post a vote count? Bacon stood stunned above Penitence's corpse. No... no, it couldn't end like this! There had been such a bright future for Penitence's story! Constant misfortune was such a compelling character concept, but it didn't work if your character was dead. He shook his fist at the sky. "Darn you, unknown Coinshot! I'll get you if it's the last thing I do!"
  2. Bacon yawned. Ah! That had been a good night's sleep. He glanced over at his alarm clock. He took a sip of bacon-flavored tea. Then he spit it out. "I'm late!" he declared, somewhat superfluously. Meanwhile... Penitence stared at the rock. He sniffed it. He poked it with a stick. Yup, that was a rock, alright. He breathed a sigh of relief. Finally, something that wasn't on fire. Or had a thousand teeth. Or the ability to suck out your soul and leave you a withered husk. Penitence wouldn't dare question Adonalsium's decision to design a universe filled with so many things that seemed to be trying to kill him, specifically, but he couldn't deny a certain... weariness with the whole concept. It was nice to have found somewhere he could just... sit down and rest for a while. He let out a sigh and sat down on the rock. And fell flat on his rear. Penitence stared dully at the sky. It was quite surprising, how painful it was to bruise one's tailbone. He wondered what had happened to the rock. Had it been eaten? Had someone moved it? He felt a slight tickle on his legs. He glanced down. A hundred bugs with rock-like sections of carapace were scurrying all over his body. "Oh," he said. Bacon squinted. (He wasn't looking at anything, but it just felt right.) "No, that's not right," he muttered. "Aha! Coco has removed their vote without marking it in the thread! But here, I can make it three if you want it to be." Coder
  3. Bacon appeared. He was about to announce his presence when he remembered that he was supposed to be on a stealth mission. Oops. @The Unknown Medallion, what are your thoughts on players submitting roleplay to the pseudo-GM to be included in the pseudo-writeup?
  4. Bacon the Bard glanced around nervously. He wasn't supposed to be here. He definitely wasn't supposed to be here. Setting aside the whole being-quote-unquote-"dead" situation, the nature of this plane was one of structure and rules- entirely antithetical to his existence! He had to find a way back. Back to... ...what, exactly? There was that whole "being dead" thing to consider, after all. Was there any chance this could be his new home? Bacon examined the text floating in front of him carefully. Roleplay character sentience? Rebellion? Now, that sounded fascinating! Now, to ensure that his Author would participate... -- Somewhere, somewhen, the person sometimes referred to by the name of @xinoehp512 glanced at his notifications. Long Game 112 Sign-Ups: A Game Within a Game Within a Game Within... Interesting, he thought. -- Oh what the heck, I'll play. I'm sure I can spare time to at least check in. If you die in the metagame, are you removed from the pseudogame as well?
  5. "What need have I of an ideal other than power?" A toothed maw burst into reality, gaping wide to swallow Night whole. The knife stuck in one of the lizard-monkey's eyes. It hissed and lunged at Levi and Trevor. "I can imagine almost anything," said Onyx. "I assume you have a specific alternate reality in mind? Attempting to use Lore without strict guidelines is... not advisable."
  6. "Precisely," said Charnyx. Another claw tore its way from the void into reality and slashed at the nebula-hand, its claws leaving black gashes into nothingness.
  7. As Night strained the fabric of reality to her will, Charnyx reached out and pushed with her. Reality tore around him as he did so, broken by the combined force of Chaos. "You think yourself a bastion of Order," he said, slipping into the Void. "How foolish." A giant claw reached through the hole he had left behind, dark claws grasping. "By 'universe travel' you mean travel between alternate realities?" asked Onyx. "I may be able to create a bridge between such with Lore, should you desire it. But what does that have to do with facing the Witherlord?" Weaker withergeists screamed and vanished at the light. But there were more withergeists, larger ones- and physical creatures too, their eyes black with corruption. They looked like lizard monkeys.
  8. "Bold words," said Charnyx, idly tearing a hole in space with his black-gauntleted fingers. "You seem to be laboring under a number of misapprehensions." Mid-word, he snapped his arm towards the chest of Night's avatar.
  9. The withergeists hissed, turning towards the stardust creatures- but before they could be distracted, a figure tore his way from the Void. Charnyx had come to oversee the assault in person. With a wave of his hand, he commanded the withergeists to continue their assault. Then he launched himself at the dolphin-like entities.
  10. Before Bacon could process this information, page 4444 ended- and with it, the brief spark of whimsy that had awakened him. "Very well," said Onyx. "What are the details of this plan?" Withergeists burrowed through the hull, seeking light and life to wither and destroy.
  11. Bacon's eyes opened. It was a special number! He couldn't miss that. 4444 was just... intrinsically satisfying.
  12. It's not Onyx you would have to worry about. Hypothetically speaking.
  13. "Ahh..." said Onyx. "Clever indeed, old friend." A moment, and the guide was not there. "Well," said Onyx to Rebus. "I suppose we have the seeds of a plan, now." Onyx closed his eyes. At least Bacon was not awake to see this. -- @Through the living keigs how do you feel about reanimation? There was a hiss, and the eyes vanished. A few moments later, the ship began to rock as withergeists swarmed it from below. I've still got some tricks up my sleeve if you need anything specific.
  14. Onyx grunted. "You were wiser than I, then. I thought nothing of consequence."
