  1. Hi everyone, I found this some days ago on Reddit and thought I'd share it here, since I enjoyed some of those a lot. It's a list of short stories with hyperlinks, you can read them for free. My favourites are The Paper Menagerie, Bridesicle, Flowers for Algernon. Enjoy!!
  2. yup. However, I remember one of the first books I EVER read was Hexe Lilli (a little witch, which was part picture book, part written letters )
  3. Yeah, I get your point now. Considering the main character was a teenager it was pretty realistic, ha
  4. Now I want a Stormlight Lego movie
  5. Nah, I couldn't disagree more. That's like saying, if you want something funny, go read a satire. If you read an epic fantasy that should include everything magic, love, mystery, jokes and serious conversations, death, friendship, family... A good book reflects life for me and all of those a part of life.
  6. Syl is really cute, I like her But I don't like Kaladin's hair so much, looks a bit too girlish to me.

    Thoughts?

I liked the excerpts so far. If it's going to be spaceship pilot school fun - I'm all for it In case you read the excerpts - I'm guessing that her dad didn't desert... And I'm already interested in what the aliens are going to be like and what they want.
  8. Yeah, I don't doubt if there's going to be a 3rd book, it's going to be good and all... BUT WHEN IS IT GOING TO BE OUT? At this point in time I'm not even sure he's working on it anymore
  9. It's torture. Wouldn't wish it even for my enemies ;-) I am currently reading the Reckoners. Got a copy of Aether of Night and read that too. Finished Elantris, Warbreaker and Mistborn before reading Oathbringer. Can you tell I like Sanderson? In case you like sci-fi I can recommend Red Rising (but I'm not up-to-date with that, didn't read the last book yet), Ender's Game, Forever War.

    Knights Radiant

I really like it, especially how the colors in the sky correspond with the foreground, makes it very atmospheric.
  11. I like all of Wit's stories. Also the one with the Wandersail, that was great too fyi, there was a discussion about that chapter some while ago:
  12. EPIC BATTLE. Adolin dies (Honestly though, I still expect Adolin to die somewhere along the way.) I agree that the Shallan/Adolin romance somehow does not feel realistic. But I also think the main reason for this is Shallan. Her psyche is just so weird and there are many things still unexplained/unexplored from her past. I just don't really understand her sometimes. But considering that we are only at book 3 of 10 I guess there is sooo much of the story still to come that I think could go directions we don't know yet. Maybe it's just that we're not satisfied with the relationship triangle as of right now, but that could change in the next books..
  13. I'm currently reading the Reckoners and I think that's considered YA. It's a bit "easier" to read and shorter / more action than some of Brandon's other books. I like it so far (I'm on book 3 of the trilogy). If you like sci-fi/fantasy, I guess you would like this series. It's about bad superheroes. Edit: PS: I think the main difference about Brandon's adult and YA books is the length (= the depth of the story)...
  14. I speak German and in my language, Ialai is perfectly symmetrical (pronounciation is ya - l'eye), maybe that's how Brandon intended it, kind of like Jasnah is really 'yasnah' (that's also how you would pronounce it in German).
  15. Oh right I forgot about that one. Yeah, Cultivation's nickname as "Slammer" is verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry interesting! So English is not my first language, could you please explain what "slammer" could mean?
  16. Thanks for posting this! What do you guys think this is referring to?
  17. I think Adolin and Renarin are so cute together, although they are so different, they just seem to like each other the way they are. In my opinion Sanderson is better at writing friendship/family relations, until now he's not 100% convinced me with his romantic relationships, don't know why.
  19. I don't Brandon would do that, because that's what's also said about Wheel of Time and its main characters.
  20. I imagined it like a mixture between a curious human hum and a satisfied cat purr..
  21. I assumed that every kind of sapient spren is a Knight Radiant spren, as the rest we've seen are only "minor" spren, like windspren, exhaustionspren and so on. Is there any evidence against that?
  22. No one mentioned Thalyen City yet? Alright, that's my second favourite scene after the Tower, that I think would translate really well in a movie.
  23. Kvothe could totally be a Lightweaver. I suppose Auri would fit an Edgedancer. And Bast would be .... Bast XD
  24. It is supposed to be Jasnah. https://wob.coppermind.net/events/259-oathbringer-leeds-signing/#e8740 (#6)
