I'm intrigued with the thought that Kaladin might be initially shunned because he's now a Lighteyes and basically shot up the rank. I agree that Lirin might be a bit cold at first though Kal's family is pretty level headed. Would be funny though if Lirin was somehow a student of Ym (or something that would tie him to the KR)

Without a doubt: "No apologize! Boots"

Also remember that when you've been cutting your enemies as easily as Szeth has, your skill tend to become stagnant unless you continually practice. I don't know what Szeth does in his spare time, but Kaladin's been training with Bridge Four and constantly gets put in life-or-death situation. I think his instinctual battle skill may be naturally higher than Szeth.

How long was the gap (roughly) between Warbreaker and WoR? I have a feeling Vivenna is either dead, or decided to stay in Nalthis when she got old...

Why didn't the stormlight heal Kaladin's scars?
Velnica replied to eveorjoy's topic in Stormlight Archive
From WoB: To Kaladin, his tattoo is a mark of the man that he was. He didn't consider himself a family of Bridge Four (hence the failed tattoos) and neither was he content with his past. Remember he was still stewing about Amaram too at the time, hence why his 'slave' persona was the one in the forefront. Maybe in the future when everything is resolved he'd finally remove the brand. -
Umm, did I miss this tidbit of info in the book? Where was it stated?

You guys are doing the work of the Almighty... seriously! So obviously Mr. T is fairly certain that the KR Order will return. Judging by the wording of that epigraph it sounds like he was out to destroy the KR if they return because they'd interfere with his plan. Meaning that he's of the KR = Mankind's enemy group. I feel like I'm grasping at straws here since it's rather vague...

I like the Genetically Modified Horse theory, but I don't think that they are in anyway 'bonded' to Radiants. They are just super horses that are also intelligent (like dolphins maybe?). Perhaps since the KR were always needed everywhere they needed a better mode of transport... Maybe you can infuse the Rhysadiums too so they run faster?

Willshapers sounds a lot like Engineers to me. Building tanks/weapons and repairing them.

When she yelled at him and he went all sputtering in indignation (something that Kal has never done to any other characters before), Brandon had me in his potential love match clutch, heehee... There's something about characters bickering like old married couple after they've just met!

Vasher/Zahel mentioned something along the line of sustaining himself through a similar force - which I presume is Stormlight (which is similar to Breaths apparently). So either Wit just came back from Nalthis, or Vasher traded his Breaths for the ability to use Stormlight instead (switching Investiture).

Judging by the plural "Words", I think he's got a way to go yet. His posse of Radiants are also still green so I think they all have to level up first before that one is fulfilled. He has at least started the process though.

So how many secret societies do we have at this point?
Velnica replied to synobal's topic in Stormlight Archive
Amaram sounds like one of the head honcho of Sons of Honor though, so that might extend the Ghostbloods' feelings towards his group. I would say that Wit counts as a secret society (or more like yet another faction in this Free For All Rosharian brawl). He's clearly got an agenda and is moving around the world trying to fulfil it. As far as recruitment drives go, he doesn't ask people to join, but subtly coerce them with information. May also be working with Jasnah next book too. The only one I would omit is Vasher for now. There's too many missing info about why he's here. -
At the moment he thinks he's safe, but Adolin is circled by people whose virtues are Honor, Truths, and Doing the Right Thing. What if Renarin can see through Adolin's lies? That would put a giant magical wrench in their sibling relationship. EDIT: Also I am so glad Sadeas is dead. He was there to provide local conflict to the story, but now that we're moving past petty Kingdom rivalries he wasn't needed anymore. Bless Adolin for doing what the entire fanbase wanted to do to Sadeas.

Laral is engaged, possibly married to Roshone (she courted his son I think, but he died so she got hitched to the dad) Tarah is the woman that Kal keeps remembering. Something about failing her (we don't know how yet). I just checked the wiki and it sounds like they met/became involved after Tien died. Her significance is gonna be apparent in the next book but 'tis just another hurdle for our ship to smash through

The Ghostbloods are fairly in on the workings of house Davar, so I'm putting my money on Veil finding that one out. IMO one more strike about Shadolin is that Shallan is starting to confront her Truths, while Adolin is quite possibly going to hide His truth (Sadeas' murder) so that would be a rift that happens first I think.
-
I was pining for Adolin since it would avoid the cliche Main Hero + Main Heroine, but damnation if those Kal & Shallan banters don't do wonders to my shipping armada. "No apologize! Boots!", making a scene in the palace, omg the stormcave!!! Shallan is true to herself when she was with Kaladin, and definitely not when she was with Adolin. Whether this theme would continue or not is anyone's guess, but in the meantime... All aboard the SS Shalladin!

How to Revive a Spren [WoR + Warbreaker spoilers]
Velnica replied to Scriptorian's topic in Stormlight Archive
I was under the impression that both Kal and Relis heard the yell. Relis might've just got the echo of the blade as it's screaming at Kaladin (since he's the KR and KRs 'killed' the sprens). Wonder if this little tidbit of info maybe of interest to anyone else in the kingdom. -
Speculation on Stormlight & Radiants given new WoR info
Velnica replied to Paradox's topic in Stormlight Archive
At this stage it's all conjecture as to the lifespan of KR. IMO The Radiants, on top of being superhuman, do live longer not because they stop aging, but because their body's natural destruction is delayed when they hold Stormlight. The longer they do it - the longer they'd live. WoB did mention that Stormlight heals people to what they envision themselves to be (Kaladin at the time of the tattoo still believes his brand was what defined him). I would think that Natans is correct - to stop aging completely they need to be Invested all the time. Imagine the amount of Stormlight they'd need! I have a feeling we'll see later how all of the seemingly "immortal" characters stay alive (Vasher, Hoid, the Heralds, etc). My guess: they're being fed some kind of Cosmere-power directly through the shards, or they can tap into the Fount of Youth Stormlight. Relevant WoB: (search for "knitwitz")- 4 replies

New Books & The Emperor's Soul
Velnica commented on firstRainbowRose's article in Brandon and Book News
He actually read an excerpt from this in Melbourne Supanova Convention. It's set in the Elantris world (Sel). He also described the magic system in it (that he said he got inspired from by a Taiwanese museum visit, lol). Basically Forgers create stamps that they then use to change the history of an object. S/he must know the history of the object first in order to rewrite it I believe. It sounded pretty unique and awesome
