  1. See, I don't think the canon really supports Odium. The big argument is red eyes. It's not a particularly strong argument, where things like the Letters, the Taldain essay, and PaAlm hint more toward Autonomy, all of which are canon.
  2. Look, Odium's a great villain, and I have no doubt that the Scadrians will have interactions/conflicts with him in the future. However, there are other Shards out there. Having Odium be behind everything makes the Cosmere narrow (Honestly, I feel we're already pushing that threshold, but that's another matter), and Brandon has been setting up Autonomy as a potential big player as of late.
  3. There's a foreman in the wite Sand Graphic Novels named Trell.
  4. I wasn't saying it was an Elantrian, I was using that to counter "Lightweaving on three planets is unlikely." The point being that there's no reason to believe other magics can't ahve it. Corruption just means a shard coopting the magic system of another shard. We already know where getting Ghostbloods in this book who are well aware of Odium. If it is Odium, talking to them would mean Brandon having to walk on a knife's edge to not spoil SA5. Autonomy males more sense with PaAlm's manifesto. Plus, the whole Trell on Taldain thing.
  5. Red is typically a sign of corruption, it's not an Odium only thing, and Eltantrians can create illusions similar to Lightweaving so...It's actually one of the more common Cosmere powers we've seen.
  6. Keep in mind that there are similar mechanics in different magiics across the Cosmere, i.e. Yolish and Rosharan Lightweaving. So just because a Fused has that powerset doesn't mean something else can't have it as well.
  7. I really think Odium would be too restricting for Brandon to use here, having to tiptoe so much around Stormlight. He can probably get away with the Ghostbloods without mentioning stuff on Roshar, but Odium involvement is another matter.
  8. It's the most accessible form of Investiture we've seen this far, and you can do a lot of stuff with Investiture.
  9. The Ire are a sect of Elantrians they are from Sel, the planet where Elantris takes place, the Shards on Sel are Devotion and Dominion. The glowy stuff is a kind of Investiture, that's all we know. The planet Kelsier saw was Sel. It's not Stormlight, it's some other form of Investiture. Interstellar space is much smaller in the Cognative Realm because it is largely empty. How, the same way he formed the crew probably: Recruiting. Why, to protect Scadrial from outside forces in the greater Cosmere. He used a Seon, also from Sel and the book Elantris. Shallan gets one in Rhythm of War, the glowing, taking orb from the Ghostblood box. Really, you should probably read Elantris, it would help with a lot of these questions. It's Brandon's earliest published work though, so don't expect Stormlight level quality. We're not exactly sure how Kelsier got a body again, we know Hemalurgy was involved, but beyond that... He is still a Cognitive Shadow, that is the affliction he shares with the Hearlds, or at least has something to do with it.
  10. For me, well, Mistborn are cool, and you know, it's the name of the series. It would be weird if going forward Mistborn didn't have any Mistborn it it. (Kelsier and Hoid notwithstanding.)
  11. We should easily break 30 million by the end. The record should stand for a while.
  12. The Iri just sided with the Singers, they seem committed to me.
  13. At this rate it might hit that before the day's out.
  14. Does anyone else find watching the number go up oddly calming? I know, I'm probably just strange.
  15. Apparently, it's already the #10 Kickstarter of all time by funding.
  16. Brandon announces a kickstarter. The fans:
  17. I do wonder if one of them could be Aether or something.
  18. Someone has to finish it, and smart money says it won't be Martin.
  19. So, the Kickstarter has now raised over two million dollars in basically an hour.
  20. Three Cosmere books, I wonder if we've heard anything from them before?
  21. Hasn't he said there's stuff he couldn't talk about yet before? Maybe it's that?
  22. I think he'd be more likely to shelve non-Cosmere stuff than Cosmere. He's said on multiple ocasions he wants to finish the Cosmere.
  23. Posted by Brandon on Reddit: Just want to say to everyone, thank you for the kind words and thoughts. You don't need to worry as much as you are doing right now. I am fine. Though this IS related to the stress of the last few years, it isn't something that you need to feel concern for me regarding. Indeed, there are some big silver linings to what I'm going to announce tomorrow. It will make sense then.
