  1. "Oh hey," Mace replied. "How's it going - um, God? Is that you? You're not still mad about the whole 'stealing your cookie recipe' thing are you, I mean it's been ag..." Mace trailed off as the figure glared at him. "I'mreallysorrypleasedon'thurtmeitwon'thappenagain," he whispered, awestruck. Then he realized that pointing a gun at this thing wasn't going to help, so he sheepishly tried to hide it behind his back. As he couldn't think of anything else to do, Mace offered the gauntleted man a cookie.
  2. Mace came to a stop a few miles from the bar. As he caught his breath, he saw someone approaching. Worried, he raised his reloaded gun to ward them off.
  3. Mace spied the tiny rock. He drew on mental and physical speed immediately. His enhanced eyes told him his target wasn’t one of his TUBA allies, and it was definitely not a decoy, so he decided to strike. With incredible speed, he pulled on the trigger, doubling his weight and strength to absorb the recoil. The gun fired with precision, sending a wave of bullets into his target. Mace didn’t stop until he had emptied the sizable clip. When he finally did, he pulled his gun from the window and fled with a burst of enhanced speed, fearing the rock's wrath.
  4. You have successfully aged a year.

Which brings you a year closer to... Death.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOPEN.

  5. Mace was annoyed. Word on the street was that one of his friends had been killed. No one had been able to tell him who did it, but he had his suspicions. Even though it wasn’t his usual style, he’d decided to avenge her. Violently. Just walking into the bar seemed dangerous. So he chose the cowardly route, the way of the assassin. After some initial recon, he’d decided that the best vantage point was the warehouse across the street from the bar. He’d climbed to its second storey and opened one of the windows that had a clear view of the doorway. For the occasion, he’d borrowed a gun from the TUBA storehouse. It was a heavy weapon, a massive machine gun, so large Mace would have been unable to lift it without drawing on his reserves of strength. Guns like it normally used gravatonics, but that sort of technology was hard to come by, so Mace was stuck hefting it the old-school way. Settling into position, Mace checked the sight. He then carefully aimed it at the door. His finger rested calmly on the trigger. All he had to do now was wait. Enhancing his senses, he calmly listened to his surroundings and waited to strike.
  6. A subforum would totally solve that problem.
  7. Yes you may! These oaths are accepted, welcome to TUBA.
  8. I've got to go with Lopen for this one. With the powers of Death he can reserect people, and that's a skill that's often in demand. Additionally, he's in a lot of guilds so he presumably has access to a lot of intel. I don't think being 'secretive' and having the most to hide is a good judge of power, what one can do is more important. And Lopen can do a lot.
  9. So I'm going to engage my mediator powers and rule that Rashan only stored the practical maximum amount, which is still a lot, but not as much as he'd hoped. As for the effects of that action, I had trouble finding any info on what would happen if you slowed yourself down while being attacked by an aon. Go figure. So I'm going to rule that Sheo still does its full HP damage, but the decay is slowed. The flakes, since they're part of his body which is moving much slower now, are falling off slower. That means that any fingers or flaking limbs that were falling off are preserved in a way. They're still dying, but the physical effects are lessened. Therefore, he is able to hold onto his sword and chain better than he would have had he not slowed down. (-6) Devaan: 25 Rashan: 7 Damage pending for chain attack, which I think despite his flaking limbs, would still work. His grip would just be a little looser than normal.
  10. Yes! So I reset Chrome and everything went back to normal. I can post and everything. Thanks so much for your help guys!
  11. Thanks, I'll try that. I just tried using the browser Microsoft Edge (42) and it works just fine. I'll fiddle around with my Chrome to see what I can do
  12. Sure. I'm using Chrome 67 on Windows 10 (64 bit).
  13. I'll preface this by saying that I'm posting this from my phone, which has no issues accessing the Shard at the moment. When I went of the Shard this evening it wouldn't allow me full access on my computer. Weird stuff that's happened: All spoiler tags appear open to me, and I can not close them. On my profile page, where there is usually the first few lines of every post I've made, the entire post appears. I can not post in PMs. I can not post or edit posts. When I go to edit a post, it takes me to a separate page. I'm not sure why all this has happened. The only thing I can think of that has changed in my routine is that Windows recently updated on my computer. Here's some screenshots:
  14. Since not much is happening on the election front… I am officially announcing my candidacy for the Alleyverse Election! This summer, I want your vote to become the candidate for the Anti-Hemalurgy Party (AHP). If I become the mayor of the Alleyvillage, I intend to keep things mostly the same, but better! I want more of the stuff we all love, like parties! Featuring a steady stream of drinks from the The Alleyway Bar and an open cookie bar (featuring both spiked and hemalurgy-free, I don’t care to limit people’s freedom of choice), the parties I throw will be epic. You may not agree with my party’s ideology, but that’s not a problem. I encourage you to vote for the person you support instead. As an experienced mediator and senior member of the Alleyverse RP, I have demonstrated the responsibility and reliability required to be a leader in the community. You want someone you can trust with the vast ceremonial responsibilities of a mayor (No one really know what the mayor’s role will be. Head DJ? Backer of Alleyverse currency? Keeper of the keys to the city? I guess we’ll find out). I believe that I am the perfect person for that role. So please vote for me to be your AHP candidate to be the Mayor of the Alleyvillage!
  15. Don't do it! It's a trap! That cookie is spiked! (see below for visual representation)
  16. Welcome! What's your favourite book?
  17. @Nohadon As promised, here's the update (sorry it took a little longer than I expected): Attack One: Punch ‘Rashan punched Devaan in the face, sending him to the ground. The guy could hit hard’. A punch that knocks you down must be pretty strong, or he got lucky and caught you off balance. Devaan: -7 Attack 2: Heat ‘…raise the temperatures of his hand to enough to melt the steel bands, burning both Devaan and Rashan in the process’. The following may be considered gross: Google says that steel often melts at around 1370 degrees Celsius, and that the normal core body temperature of an adult human being is stated to be 37.0 degrees Celsius. At 70 degrees you get a third degree burn in one second. For cremation, a body is burned at 1000 degrees Celsius for 2 hours. Unfortunately, I was unable to find any good numbers for how fast a body burns, but I’m going to assume it’s pretty quick at 1370 degrees Celsius. As such, I’m maxing out the damage on both of you. Your arms are severely burned, likely catching on fire, boiling your blood, that sort of thing. Devaan: -33 (but gets +3 for light gold tapping) Rashan: - 33 Attack 2, part 2: ‘Devaan's clothes began to catch fire… He smiled as Rashan's clothes also set alight’ Heat is dangerous, but so is smoke. A quick google tells me that 15 minutes of straight smoke (0% oxygen) would kill you, 5-10 minutes would cause permanent brain damage in humans. Just like humans, pets usually have less than 20 minutes depending upon the location of the house fire and how hot and fast it is burning. Luckily, you are outdoors, so the smoke dissipates. However, you are very close to it, so -2 to both of you. Healing: ‘and then began to really start tapping his gold, weeks spent bed-ridden leading up to something like this’ BUT Devaan began to lose consciousness and had to tap bronze to keep himself awake. It looks like he tried to heal himself, but was unable to completely, as seen by the drowsiness. I’ll put it at +25 (completely uses up your gold reserves) Attack 3: ‘In one go, Rashan emptied his second emergency steelmind, supertapping it into a barrage of punches that seemed to crack through the air, leaving vacuum behind them…Rashan focused his speed exclusively on his circled fists as they whipped through the air, transferring immense power to his opponent in those few seconds.’ Rahsan is hitting Devaan with an arm that is literally on fire, so that’s going to hurt him as well. In fact, ‘the steelmind fully melted, it's liquid contents flowing off Rashan's arm onto the floor. It burned like damnation.’ Molten metal is no joke, but there’s not much more damage that can be done to that arm so the damage is only – 4. (Note: the reserve metalmind is probably close to melting too due to its proximity to the heat, but it won’t be fully melted, just hot to the touch and maybe a little squishy. You’ve both got metal on you that would heat up and burn you, so – 2 each.) Super fast punches at close range deal - 10 (it would be more, but his arms are injured) Healing: ‘He allowed the stormlight to heal him as much as he could, and began storing brass, cooling his body, while the fire raged around him.’ An explosion of stormlight is a lot. I’ll give you +26. Attack 4: Sword Strike A split second of Lord Ruler level emotional alomancy is formidable, but Devaan is fighting Rashan’s momentum here, so the attack goes as planned: ‘Tapping a very large portion of his last emergency steelmind, Rashan hurled himself at his opponent, taking out his sword, ready to strike. He wasn't supertapping, but he was going pretty storming fast.’ ‘It should be noted Rashan's holding his sword in front of him, so letting him hit you would be letting yourself get stabbed.’ ‘Rashan flew into him at top speed, and all Devaan could do to stay intact was to tap all of his gold, pewter and iron at the same time before impact, he was thrown across the arena floor, bleeding and bruised, he just had to hope that his opponent was damaged even more.’ Super tapping everything (I’m assuming you didn’t use aluminum, so it’s just the 15) means you: pull and push on nearby metal = cancel each other out increase your senses = a Tineye’s weakness is loud noises. The amount of pain he’s about to feel is amplified by the tin increased physical abilities = better landing rioting and soothing = ineffective against your opponent because of the short amount of time you have to use it and their momentum sends them crashing into you anyway hide allomantic powers and hear allomantic pushes = useless in this context slow and speed up time = cancel each other out reveal your past = more confusing than anything reveal your future = may let you plan for your landing better allomantic burn enhancement = less than useful without a target enhance your allomantic powers = better use of pewter In summary, while using up all your allomantic powers may have looked cool, it wasn’t very effective. I’m going to rule that from your pewter and flailing around with steel and iron and all that, you managed to pull off a decent landing. Somehow you managed to push on some metal that acted as shrapnel and hurt Rashan a little (-2), but the damage was done. The sword wound does -12 because it was sharp and at super high speed, like being hit by a bullet. The extra weight and strength helped though, bringing down the damage from what it would have been. The updated health scores: Devaan: 69 Rashan: 44
  18. I have no opinion on the matter you two are discussing, but I'd like to point out that Aurora is a pretty good source. After all, she was in his class.
