I'm a really slow reader not because I physically read slowly, but because I spend several days without picking up the book, so this looks like a good motivation. I'm in.

Trails of Cold Steel (and the Kiseki series in general)
Eluvianii replied to Zurvanight's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Seems like a good time to bring up that time I noticed the clock in Sky FC counted minutes on second, 43 I think it was. -
Lewis started climbing, feeling nervous for some reason. It would be considered normal but honestly, when was the last time he had cared for his own well-being? He brushed it away, nervous or not, they had to deal with this. It had been a long night, he had lost a client, surely reputation too, but this time there was more at stake than his dinner. If they made it, they would save a lot of people, somehow the thought brought a smile to his face. A smile? Really, wasn't this thing supposed to make him all depressed? If he was smiling now what would happen if he took it off? But. Despite himself, it felt good. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if he did it in the end, but would it be right? Still, he wasn't taking that decision until they took care of this. They already had people counting on it, funny how he was starting to care about that too, but whatever the case, until everything was over the ring stayed. They were almost there. The people they were looking for were probably already in the middle of, something. It felt weird, not knowing what they were trying to stop, but it was bad, that was for sure. Wita was ahead so she would be the first to get there, the first target once these people saw her, but from what Lewis had seen, fighting wasn't her forte. Her behavior had been somewhat erratic throughout the night, but she had saved them from difficult situations more than once now. She was smart, at least he could be sure of that. Stealth wouldn't be an option here, so he'd have to count on her. @Sorana

Maybe not the future exactly. Your spiritweb is the perfect version of yourself, isn't it? Maybe when Shallan sketches someone, she sketches the best version of that person, which is why they always seem so eager to change when they see it, and the reason Elhokar resembles his sketch when he dies. He was taking the first step to become that version of himself.

As far as I know it's always been like that, but similar to what others said above, it's virtually unnoticeable unless I'm actively trying to.

Oh I'm aware of that. It's just that when I noticed it I couldn't help but think of those, given that with one eye I saw blue-ish and with the other red-ish.

Lewis followed Wita out the window, then closed it. It seemed a little too convenient to have this here. Probably one of the downsides of not getting to choose where your evil plans take place. He took out another vial. Why hadn't he done so earlier? That had worked just barely, he had been careless. "So, this leads to the top, right?" he asked Wita trying to stay focused. @Sorana

If it helps develop the theory further, I have noticed something similar. I haven't gone through any procedures, and though I use glasses now, I'm fairly sure I noticed it before that, so maybe humans just see everything through a pair of reaaaally subtle old-school 3d glasses by default.

What are you playing right now?

Finished Hyrule Warriors Legends. One would think 21 hours is a bit short but those were A LOT of stages. Which I can now replay in three more difficulty levels with new rewards. And then there's adventure mode which seems to be several times longer than the main campaign. The story is just the beginning with this game, isn't it? -
Heraldic Apotheosis and the Power of Mismatched Surges

Hmmmmm I wonder if one could swim on ground by combining Cohesion and Gravitation. Like, you make the ground liquid, dive in completely and then use Gravitation to fall in any direction and come out at another point. Seems tricky but it could confuse the enemy in battle or the user infiltrate themselves anywhere. There's just no way to watch the freaking ground for intruders, not with Roshar's technology anyway. -
Not to have an existential crisis during his own 1000+ pages book. Let the suffering stay in the flashbacks while he chills and saves people without further trauma.

Trails of Cold Steel (and the Kiseki series in general)
Eluvianii replied to Zurvanight's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Great! It is a long trip indeed, but a worthy one, I hope you enjoy it. When the time comes I hope you consider playing the Crossbell games too. There's no official localization but they're awesome too and part of the bigger picture. -
SINoALICE was released worldwide last night. I had never seen a mobile game with such a good soundtrack. I swear, Keiichi Okabe will be known as a Uematsu level legend some day.

I finished Resident Evil Remake on the Jill route for the first time today. I've had this game for years but was too scared of my inability to survive to play it XD but after a tutorial on how to dodge zombies things went smoothly. Honestly, I didn't know this game was so big, and it's full of surprises. The game can be as hard or as easy as the player wants, you can go full Rambo or skip entire boss fights by doing certain things. In that regard it kinda reminds me of Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines, letting you choose between mind games or just kill everything, it's something I wasn't expecting but it was a really pleasant surprise. -

Wait, really? That's, disappointing to say the least. -
So I was trying to watch Alien last night and accidentally watched Poltergeist. I liked it, though some scenes are too intense to be horror, to the point it felt more like adventure. At other times though, it was really good at establishing an atmosphere but really bad at keeping it, like you would be in this really tense scene wondering if something will happen or not, and then the movie would drop a joke. They were good jokes, it made me laugh but there goes the atmosphere, and this kept happening until the climax of the movie, which is when it finally started feeling tense without interruptions. Overall it was good, it was a fun concept and I liked the characters, but it really made me wonder if it was actually trying to be scary.

Hmmmm so then I gather it's not as bad, but I still would ruin some surprises. sigh Guess I'll wait for now. Goddess, I hate being stuck. -

Eluvianii replied to Zurvanight's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Yeah, I figured, but since the two mini previews we got before were pretty mild, I was hoping that just maybe this one would fall into that category too. Edit: Oh gosh, I'm just noticing. Welcome to the shard! -

So, currently my knowledge stops before the end of CS1 Chapter 6. Would it be too bad an idea to watch the trailer? -
"Wait, what are you...?" Lewis saw Wita rush suddenly and she threw something to the air. What was it? It looked small. Thin. Nails. Metal. Of course. Lewis wasn't good with things that required both precision and speed. Most of the jobs he got involved hurting, or sometimes killing people, but he always did it from the dark, where he could wait for his target and go unnoticed. Now he needed a good shot and he had a half second to do it. But it was either that or getting caught. He burned Steel and followed the blue lines all pointing to him, until they were also pointing to them, and Pushed them all at a time. And then his Steel ran out. The nails changed direction but not with a lot of speed. That wouldn't kill anybody, but hopefully some nails to the face would bother the thugs enough to stop paying attention to them. @Sorana

Technically about ten years, but at some point it became very sporadical. I even took like over a year to learn a single song and didn't even finish it. So yeah, I'm pretty much still a beginner. I'm trying to go back to it though.

Trails of Cold Steel (and the Kiseki series in general)
Eluvianii replied to Zurvanight's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I've been relegated to replay the Crossbell arc in my phone. It feels good to see Crossbell again though a malfunctioning touch screen and my sweaty hands make a terrible combination. The question now is if I'll finish this again before getting a new laptop or if I'll have to stop midway so I can stop suffering with the controls and get into Cold Steel by morally-better means. -
Lewis followed Wita's gaze towards the elevator, which by the sound of it was about to stop right where they were. Sure enough, after a thud the doors opened revealing two more people. Had they known what they were planning or was it a coincidence? "Where is that escape ladder?" Lewis asked quickly, still not sure of what to do. The two thugs spotted them immediately.

I got about 100 pages in and then put it on hold. The world and magic look interesting but Kvothe gets on my nerves.
