  1. "Looks fun, but it can't be that good" -Me before starting chapter 2
  2. It's my trademark. TPBM wants to drink hot chocolate.
  3. Not exactly, but my parents are divorced, and the thing happened in a pretty bumpy way, so it does feel like a feud, on rare occasions (everyone is civil about it but sometimes I wonder if it's forced for my sister and my sake). TPBM remembers what they dreamed last night.
  4. My sister and I seem to be the only people in the world who didn't think Coco was a sad movie... Aside from that, I'm a bit of a crybaby. In recent memory, episode 3 of All of Us Are Dead got me, when I continue watching it I'm sure it'll get worse. Belle made it difficult to restrain myself considering I was at the theater. No Way Home had a couple moments. RoW had a reaaally good moment (and more to come in the 300 pages I have left I'm sure). No Time to Die definitely. A song called Dandelion Girls, Dandelion Boys hit me a lot harder than I expected it to. Lupin III for all its silliness has proven it can play with my feelings like a toy whenever it chooses to. Trails of Cold Steel 4 has come to the point I cry once every chapter or so. And of course, I rewatched Your Lie in April recently and that one always turns me into a sad bundle of tears.
  5. Mostly the community ones. I want to catch up on my Cosmere to go back to the series subforums. Do you have old books? Like, you're scared to touch them in case they disintegrate old?
  6. For better or worse I'm on mobile, which means you don't have to close tabs once you're finished, which means *starts counting*........ 213 tabs... TPBM has as many tabs.
  7. I promise my skin being green has a completely logical explanation... That's a no. TPBM is a mermaid.
  8. This is my fifth year here so for the most part no. And yet sometimes I still feel like the new guy. TPBM prefers pizza over burgers.
  9. I swear, Pom is the real game here. I just spent like half an hour against Gaius in a single game. My usual strategy of tanking to save the cp and then attacking when they can't defend wasn't working because that guy gathers cp at lightning speed like, crem was intense.
  10. Got to the part in RoW where (posting that thought here because until I'm finished, I'm scared of setting foot into the Stormlight subforum)
  11. A few pages back (I just caught up on about 2 years of thread) some people were comparing Jasnah to Aes Sedai, which I was surprised about, because I deeply dislike Aes Sedai behavior, but I really like what we have of Jasnah so far, insensitive/self-important personality included. I wouldn't call her one of my favorite characters, but more like one I'm convinced will become one of my favorites once she becomes a main character in the back half. Now, this is apparently an unpopular opinion so I'll take this chance to say it. I'm extremely happy with the amount of Radiants we're getting in SA and I hope those numbers exponentially grow in the future. We're supposed to fill a storming army with those, why are we complaining about Radiant status (or lack thereof) undermining someone's character? It doesn't, not in this world. It's just an entry ticket into the army that also happens to be a really good device for character development. But Radiant characters are not interesting because of their powers, and "normal" characters don't need to prove they can be interesting without them. A boring character will be a boring character, spren or not. I don't think even the argument about broken people applies here. We're seeing Windrunners in the hundreds already, and the only reason there aren't more is simply lack of spren willing to bond. I think the selection of PoVs we've had so far gives the wrong impression that a person needs to have gone through hell to achieve Radiancy, but if only those select few could bond, humanity would have gone extinct during the first Desolation. There's plenty of things that can break a person to a lesser degree, is there anyone who doesn't have a single crack on their spiritweb? We just see the ones who have faced the most hardship at the forefront because they make for more interesting characters. I'm actually not a fan of the "Only certain people get powers" trope in general. Not like it should disappear but I feel there aren't enough stories out there where magic is an everyone can do it if they practice kind of deal. Also, regarding the posts above this one, yeah, Brandon is definitely really far from being a household name. We're fantasy fans, so of course we see his name pop up on a daily basis, but fantasy fans are a really small part of the population. Irl no matter how hard I look, I haven't met a single person who has even heard his name before.
  12. I actually don't. I don't exactly frequent forums to begin with but this one is so nice and everyone knows each other. I've come to think of it as a place. TPBM is scared of hardcore theorists.
  13. XD ok, I get that. Though in the end Wheel of Time takes me even longer since I stop at each description trying, and failing, to figure out how the thing looks.
  14. Needles. TPBM can fly.
  15. Wanted to get back into reading for good. Read about 50 pages today in about two or three hours. 50 pages. I can't keep up with all of you guys, how do you do it?
  16. Crap, I'd struggle with a top 20. Let's see: 1. Millennium Actress. 2. When Marnie was There. 3. Interstellar. 4. 5 Centimeters per Second. 5. Wolf Children. Everything under number 1 is in no particular order. I have one favorite movie and a gazillion second favorites. I just chose a few I'm fond of, without repeating directors.
  17. Oh crap. Should have written it on metal.
  18. Dried cranberries. Anything you'd recommend to live a healthy childhood?
  19. The ability to keep cat litter odor-free at all times. Also, to make it clean itself.
  20. Finished Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights, all 3 endings and 100% completion. I love this game so much. The art is absolutely gorgeous, the music is beautiful and so incredibly atmospheric (also composed by my favorite band so I'm obviously heavily biased there), the gameplay is silky smooth, areas and bosses are difficult but fair and at all times really fun. I cannot stress enough how much I liked this game. Best metroidvania I've played so far, no contest. I recommend it even to people who have trouble with difficult games. Death didn't feel frustrating in this game most of the time. It has a lot of quality of life stuff so the only real difficulty are the enemies themselves. So, that done, I'm still on this metroidvania journey so Hollow Knight seems like the next logical step. Already got a head start on that one actually. Gotta say, my relationship with Hollow Knight so far is like that one friend who convinces you to do stupid stuff and you question your life choices the whole way through. But next day you hang out with them again anyway because upon waking up you somehow decided you actually had fun. Translation is, I end up really stressed most of the times I play that game, but next day I play again for some reason. I'm really liking the bosses so far though so I think it's worth to keep going if only to fight the rest. I hate the death mechanics, they make me afraid to experiment, which makes me avoid most fights, which ends in me not getting any better at the game. But gameplay is good, atmosphere is great, those hand drawn animations are amazing, and I had a blast fighting the Mantis Lords... Storms, this is unhealthy.
  21. I was searching this topic last night. Apparently there's none.
  22. Yeahhh. I'm the only person within my close family who can have an actual conversation in English. When tested with native speakers though (had a part-time job that required it for a while) it was embarrassing when people found my accent hard to understand, there were some (fortunately few) people who I didn't understand a single word they were saying, and the most embarrassing of all, customers outright asking me to connect them to another agent because they had so much trouble understanding me. TPBM has eaten a sandwich today.
  23. Not rea government official points gun at me ...I love tacos! Everyone does. TPBM hasn't stepped into their school for 2 years due to the pandemic.
