  1. Oh, duh. How could I forget to do that?

    Era 2 war

I’m just saying that if technology already exists that can counter trench warfare, then it won’t be used as much. It still might be used, but generals would ask “What if they brought all of their Coinshots to this position and punched a hole in our defences, what would we do then?” And honestly, if this did happen, I don’t think they would just go “they punched a hole in our defences, let’s try that again and dig more trenches.” Edit: Sorry if that sounded mean, I’m not good at conveying tone using text.
  4. There is a Lirin quote in the Way of Kings that I would like to bring up:

    Era 2 war

If I remember correctly from my history class, this happened because they had machine guns and other things that could just mow down lines of soldiers, so they put men in trenches to prevent wasting the lives of soldiers. However, things like tanks and aircraft made trenches obsolete, because people could get to the trenches by going in tanks, and they could fly over the trenches to come from both sides, and they could drop grenades down and stuff. With the existence of aircraft, and the metallic arts, I don’t think that trenches would be a solution that would work for very long. So the wars probably wouldn’t be that bad.
  6. Is there a place that has the story to more than page just page 37 out of 669 or do I have to use the website? Antimatter decided to challenge Black Hole for the title of Ultimate Rock-Paper-Scissors Champion. I’ve been winning for 5 hours now! ...wait. This is the wrong thread for that.
  7. The things that I have discovered that help against being tired the very most are: 1. Sleep, and 2. Doing stuff. I know that 2 seems counterintuitive, but if you sit still and do nothing all day, you are almost always more tired than when you do things.
  8. But I’d have to be winning when it did.
  9. Maybe? It’s been more inactive recently.
  10. Did nobody post anything at all on here for the entirety of yesterday? That means that my chances of winning are increasing!
  11. Maybe? I don’t think so, but that’s based on a WoB that I barely remember. Something about if listeners could bond to any spren, but some would result in dullform, I think.
  12. Well, I was talking about those times that I remember hearing on Shardcast when someone (I think it was @Chaos?) said something like “location doesn’t matter in the Spiritual Realm, unless it does.” And this might explain the “unless it does.” Also, not particularly important. Still some. Probably. Maybe.
  13. Well, from what I understand, Dullform still has a spren bond, only “slaveform” doesn’t.
  14. When you realize how awful it would be to be an Elantrian with sinus problems or allergies.
  15. Ok. I’ll post this meme if anyone tries it again:
  16. I would pay to see that.
  17. Wait, I think I have another Idea showing up in my head. I’ll explain it just a bit, and then go back to flipping through Oathbringer. Since the Rhythms make manifestations in the Physical Realm (the lightning in the Everstorm at the battle of Thaylenah) and kind of in the Spiritual Realm, (Kaladin’s vision when he touches Riino’s orb) I would say that the Rhythms come from somewhere in the Spiritual Realm, and then are kind of filtered by other things, because I doubt that the Beads in Shadesmar rattle to all the Rhythms simultaneously, and the voidforms hear them differently than the other parsh forms. My brain is Taravangian right now, I’m just having ideas everywhere, and I don’t have time to write everything down, just ideas that kind of make sense, and I will clarify later.
  18. When Syl says she can shape bits of Honor, I just thought that Shardplate would be made of Stormlight, because Stormlight is essentially just bits of Honor.
  19. Here is my theory: areas develop their own spiritwebs! Explanation: when there is life on a planet, people form Connections to each other across the planet, forming a “web” in the Spiritual Realm. Each planet would have its own “Spiritual web,”(or Spiritweb) which would be somewhat isolated from other planets, and even more isolated from other Systems. This also probably applies to countries (and maybe even more localized areas such as towns and cities) in the Cosmere, but to a lesser extent; as there is a lot more travel across a planet. However, because the majority of people living in an area don’t travel outside of the area, the area would probably have its own somewhat distinct “Spirit web.” This can probably explain why entities like spren are unable to leave their system, why Investiture is Localized, almost by country, and why each planet has an influence upon the magic, as Brandon has stated,(can’t find the WoB right now, though.) why planets have different looking Cognitive Realms, and probably a couple other things, too. Feel free to poke holes in this theory. Maybe we could poke enough holes in it that it would look like a “web!”
  20. Multiple passages that I have read seem to suggest that the Beads in Shadesmar rattle to the Rhythyms: •Chapter 93 of Oathbringer, when Adolin, Kaladin and Azure are doing a morning kata: “The sea of beads rolling against itself began to doubt soothing. Even rhythmic.” •Chapter 99 of Oathbringer, when they had just gotten onto the boat with the Reachers: “When Kaladin awoke on the ship in Shadesmar, the others were already up. He sat, bleary-eyed on his bunk, listening to beads crash outside the hull. There almost seemed . . . a pattern or rhythm to them? Or was he imagining things?” •And, finally, the Prologue of Words of Radiance, just after Jasnah falls into Shadesmar: “That music’s complexity had always surprised her, suggesting that the Parshendi were not the uncultured savages many took them for. This far away, the music sounded disturbingly like the beads from the dark place, rattling against one another.” I don’t know if anyone has asked if the Beads in Shadesmar rattle to the Rhythms, but I think that these three pieces of evidence are strong enough that I don’t need confirmation, but it would be nice. So, now that we know about this, what can we learn from it?
  21. Well, that’s kind of what I mean: in Japanese, the language a Haiku is designed for, a Haiku isn’t quite as restrictive.
  22. Well, of course not. Haikus were designed in Japanese, where a syllable is much easier to define, because it’s just one character. English is weird, and is harder to make haikus with, so it makes sense that haikus are not your preferred medium.
