How characters are described vs how the appear in your head.
avus replied to ChetLee's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Woah, thought I was the only one. That was exactly how I saw it! -

Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)
avus replied to killersquirrel59's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
You now have the incredible ability to walk on walls as a gecko. No, literally. You are now a slightly transparent lizard living on a window, eating the bugs attracted to the light at night. Congratulations! The kind inhabitants of the house let you in in the winter, and allow you to read their books. But your lifespan is still normal lizard length. Sorry. I wish for the ability to shapeshift to a safe, stable new form of my choice instantaneously with no ill effects to my person or the balance of physics in this universe. -
Thank you!!

I'm not sure how to do it.

What's up with all the Growling and Grunting?
avus replied to Kel's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I think it's realistic. Many other authors have characters being absolutely silent, never using the bathroom, never sneezing, blinking, or coughing, etc. Brandon's attention to these smaller details adds more realism and, in the case of Adolin and his Shardplate needs, some lighter elements. I grunt all the time, but maybe that's just my inner emo-kaladin coming out. -
Getting People Hooked on the Cosmere
avus replied to Nazianzen's topic in General Brandon Discussion
YES. One of my long-time good friends, (and I mean, like since we were 3) almost had a fit of excitement when he heard that SA was my favorite book series. When I asked him if he'd read all the other cosmere books, he said he hadn't read Warbreaker yet. And he's trying to read OB right now, even though I tried to convince CE him to wait. -
One more thing I have noticed. In all the confirmed Hoid/Wit/Whateveryouwannacallhim appearances, he never changes his bone structure. Hair color, age, etc, sure, but not his overall physical skeletal/structural appearance. This leads me to believe either has or has not a nice butt, and it, like his angular features, does not change.

I see Dalinar as the future holder of all the Shards: the Unity of Adonalsium again. He is probably the single most broken soul in the Cosmere, so it would make sense that he could be bonded strongly to each Shard since he has so many cracks.

OK, guys. Here's the single MOST IMPORTANT thing that OB brought up. List told Gawx not to trust Dalinar because he has a good butt. Butt, (see what I did there?) Lift says (in Edgedancer) that she thought Wit was awesome. (As old Whitehead) So. That begs the question. The question for the ages. A question we need to get WoB on. Does Wit have a nice butt? The fate of Roshar - nay!- of the Cosmere itself rests on the answer to that burning question.

Brandon Sanderson Hemalurgically Spiked himself with Writing Speed he took form George R. R. and Garth Nyx. He tries to model himself after the greatest man alive; it's really easy. He just has to be.

Possible motto: Surely at least one of our theories is right and Brandon can't throw us all ANOTHER curve ball... Right?..Right?

Also, Wit beating Kelsier up? My favorite part of the Mistborn books/extensions. (Please don't kill me, crazed Kelsierens.)
-
Wit said he made a promise long ago to always be in the right place at the right time. So yes, he's definitely still feeling guilty for something. It makes you wonder, did the Shattering happen because he wasn't there in time?
-
Yes. This bugged me really badly. As to the topic of not knowing the full reason for the recreance I completely agree. The suddenness of the Recreance indicates the knowledge of human's origins on Roshar wasn't the jarring cause.

I needed this in my life. Thank you, ookla-nimi.
