Well, Originally my name was Harthan. I was a proto-radiant on Roshar, in Dalinar's Warcamp. One day, while my spren Swing and I were training out in the chasms, we were suddenly, and by no means of our own, transported to Shadesmar! (at least, that's the best we can remember it). We can vaguely remember a man saving us from a pool of beads, and telling us a direction to walk. We soon found ourselves in the middle of nowhere, spotting a town we spent the night there. The next day we found that we were interrupting an information exchange of a few worldhoppers. I soon learned that there was much more than just my home world of Roshar for now I was on a planet know as Scadrial. Joining with the other worldhoppers we went on a few items of business, and eventually a Perpendicularity or two to take me back to Roshar. When I returned to the Shattered plains The strangest thing was happening; A large force was heading out into the shattered plains! And so the events of the Everstorm ensued. I was able to catch up to the Army and survived the battle against the listener's. I stayed at Urithiru for a while, where I once again met Carola Davar ( @Ookla the Lightweaver ) who I have since been traveling with to various destinations in the Cosmere, learning and completing research. However, I needed a cover story, as far as anyone on Roshar is concerned, Harthan the Soldier died during the battle of the Everstorm. Now I travel the cosmere under my new name, Benjamin.

Right, I just realized that I was unclear in how I wrote it, but the Elite families that the Church selects their leadership from has No ancestry of smokecasting. (no biggie, I didn't make it super clear, so that was easy to mix up). However, I think I will want to stray away from that because of it's similarity to Mistborn

I mean, they don't really need to 'outlaw' it per se. since they control the knowledge of it, and limit it to their highest ranks. So in essence it is outlawed. and because they keep their ranks within several "noble" (yeah, sure close enough) families that they know have no ancestry of Smokecasting, there's really no issues there (besides the possibility of the priest who discovers he has Smokecasting powers and then turns evil) Although as I was writing this I had the great idea for the church to at some point send assassins or something after the main character(s) so thanks! @NickPlum Also yes. It would be Lineage related. Genetic kind of.

Yes, Oathbringer is great. Probably his best book. So far anyway

Alright, Sounds great! @tineye0309 Also, I have made some additions to my original post, with some more background info, like what @SilverTiger asked for. More updates coming soon, I've almost figured out what woods I want to use as the sources for magical smoke, so I'll probably add that next.

Right. So, I've actually been working a lot with this lately, and I have a more cohesive story idea now, as well as a really interesting history. Basically, because of said smokecasting, there was a highly advanced society, with their tech being based off of smoke, the magical kind. But something happened, which destroyed the civilization and putting everyone back in almost the dark ages. so it's a little bit more along the lines of what @Belzedar said. (Thanks Belzedar, Your comment really helped me shape this up!)

Honestly, Oathbringer is like my favorite book ever. But there's still more to come with Stormlight, soooo. lol

So, I had my pizza, my drink, and my laptop. perfect combination. I was gonna listen to some Shardcast, and enjoy a relaxing afternoon. But wait. Sharcast won't play?!? Yeah, when I pressed the play button, nothing happened. I tried going to the soundcloud site to listen to it as well. It just said that it "could not be played at this time, please try again later" Is this just me, or? EDIT: Nevermind, I think this was just me. Please ignore this post lol
