Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mindbogglingly big it is. I mean, you make think it's a long through the Cognitive Realm from Nalthis to Roshar, but that's just peanuts to space. We know that Adonalsium existed, and most likely created the cosmere. But what about the rest of everything? Is there any reason to believe that other Adonalsium's couldn't have formed in other places? I predict that Dragonsteel will end with the reveal that some Othernalsium led the plot against Adonalsium, with the future Vessels completely unaware of it. This also gives us a potential bigest-bad for Mistborn Era 4. And stopping this Othernalsium could be Hoid's main motivation for reforming Adonalsium.

I didn't realize spren could undergo mitosis But spren can change size, right? What if we make a thunderclast-sized crossbow, and have a spren grow into a giant projectile? We'll be bound to hit something that way!

It might be safer to build something that can rocket you across the cognitive realm, basically using it as a form of hyperspace.

We know how Odium feels about picking up other shards, but do we know anything about Autonomy's feelings? What if Rayse gets killed by the end of Stormlight Archive, but Autonomy swoops in and picks up Odium to create another dual shard?

Have we seen spren choose anybody with a deadeye blade yet? Dalinar didn't really give the Stormfather much choice... I expect the Perpendicularity had some role to play in the 3 heartbeats difference, maybe the massive amount of Investiture somehow strengthened the gemstone-bond? Regardless of what initially caused the difference, Adolin now knows what type of spren Maya is and what order she belongs to. I wouldn't be surprised if he learns more about the Edgedancers after the battle, and tries to live their values to see if it eases her pain.

My take on this is that Adolin might have Edgedancer potential, but that he also needs more character growth before he can live up to their Ideals. It's the whole "Journey before destination" thing, right? He's not there yet, but maybe in a couple of books he will be.
