  1. I don't think Backtrack's on his own in that though. Picture, say Obliteration or Newton at super-speed with sword drawn, veritable unkillable ninjas of Epics and clearly some of the most badchull Epics of all time. Picturing it? Good. Now picture Vondra, and if he isn't jumping out of a helicopter with no parachute onto a flying bear and strangling it to use to cushion his fall then you're picturing it wrong. That's right, even completely powerless he's still more of a badchull than the most badchull of Epics.
  2. Along with: The Infinitely-Infinitesimal: Omnipotent, but his weakness is everything.
  3. Would that include himself?
  4. I would like to point out that it's been a little over a week and we've already half-filled this thread with our patented blend of ponies, planning and insanity. I would like to say... You guys are awesome.
  5. The sudden spike in Investiture on the battlefield alerted Voidus who stepped out of a nearby shadow. "Huh. This place still here? And also apparently confetti. Who put confetti on my battleground? And how? And even more importantly why?"
  6. PI isn't used incorrectly at all to my knowledge, it's the term 'High Epic' that keeps getting used to mean different things.
  7. Well if he reduced it to absolute zero that's around 300 degrees C, which is pretty hot.
  8. MV wasn't entirely sure what to make of the goings on in the clinic, between that Slontze Reader getting pantsed, Shiny sparkle abducting Autumn again and one of the other Epics getting all high and mighty she'd nearly forgotten about Backtrack. Elsa's interruption brought her attention back and she pulled her new friend to one side. "I think that they wanted to meet up with Autumn Glass, that woman who just got teleported out, but I need to find someone here too, he can help me find my sister again... I hope." Hope was the word alright, MV had no idea whether Backtrack was even here still, let alone whether he could or would help, and even if they could find her, she dreaded finding Impact only to find something horrible had happened. No, she's alright, she must be alright, I'd know if she wasn't wouldn't I? I just need to focus on what I can do now. She addressed the doctor who'd just walked in in Autumn's absence. "Excuse me, is there a patient here called Backtrack? I think he came in with Autumn Glass. I need him." Somehow even in her frightened, disheveled state her own words still embarrassed her. "I mean, I need to find him, so that he can um... help me." She stuttered out, cheeks aflame.
  9. I blame Brandon for making me love his lack of plotholes so much that when we find one it dissapoints me way more. Ah well, Mizzy's still awesome.
  10. Still a lot, certainly a lot more than just the sunlight just not enough to blow up a city. There's a few things that could boost it even more like the energy the earth radiates, background radiation and such but I don't think they'd be enough of a boost to compensate so yeah I think there's just a bit of handwaving going on. The Rule of cool prevails.
  11. Doesn't really work with Megan though, she was straight up trying to murder him, I don't know how much harder she could be rejecting him and yet that's when he seemed to be able to predict even better than when she handcuffed him.
  12. Could be but it'd have to at least be both his attraction and them not wanting to date him (Either that, or the Reckoners are terrible at their jobs) which is possible since probably no one wants to date him but I'm more inclined to believe it was just his attraction. I think it's at least enough of a basis to go along with the weakness for now being at least not explicitly impossible.
  13. Found it. It wasn't emotions specifically, but he definitely implies it's potentially internal. EDIT: On review it's possible that he meant that other people thinking certain thoughts around them could weaken an Epic, although I don't think that's what it meant.
  14. On Euphoria
  15. Well keep in mind that there's someone in the clinic who can rob anything she sees of all momentum so if he goes too mental/murderous he might not have a lot of luck with leaving, that combined with the number of Epics in the clinic makes surviving an attack of any kind somewhat problematic.
  16. Not sure that that would be much better, I'd think that if an Epic ran away from the city guard before being cleared by Autumn and Reader they'd likely be targeted by the guard.
  17. Fine with me, I might write a short bit with MV talking to Elsa soon but it'd probably just be a whispered bit off to one side.
  18. If it were purely from sunlight which is about 1100 W/m^2 at sea level over a week gives about 665,280,000 Joules which isn't even 1 ton of TNT. If the air around him were reduced to absolute zero, so a drop of roughly 300 K is roughly 300kJ (It's roughly 1 kJ of energy to increase 1 cubic metre of air by 1 degree) of energy per cubic meter of air, even if it circulates the full m^3 every second that's 181.44 GJ over the whole week which is only about 40 tons. As was pointed out nuclear blasts are on the level of a few kilotons at least so we're a few orders of magnitude off.
  19. In fact David specifies that they always pick someone with a PI, personally I wouldn't take a blurb to be all that canonical, they're meant to sell the book, not provide accurate exposition.
  20. Maybe move it to the bottom with a note that it's been RAFO'd?
  21. Not sure, certainly the actual tech part of it but I'm not sure if recreating motivators would be possible. I don't think it's so against cannon as to be impossible but I'd leave it up to you and Twi to decide for balancing reasons. Synesthesia's in Portland, as is Altermind although he's not been cool enough to use his power like that
  22. "Sure." Voidus replied around a mouthful of taco. "Help yourself, they're pretty good. Never did get around to studying the spike that gave me that ability but it does come in handy when you're feeling peckish, tapping calories is all well and good but then you don't get the taste."
  23. "Well we've always got a few Acolytes looking to prove themselves if you need more soldiers. But then again there was that one who accidentally spiked his own memory into a piece of granite that time we had a skirmish with a chasmfiend so not necessarily as useful as you'd think." Voidus groaned at the memory, pulling an extra-large taco out of a nearby shadow for some comfort eating.
  24. Yeah but demonsquid or no it's still better than the one we had before that kept tearing holes in spacetime and causing time-paradoxes that threatened to destroy the universe. Baked like a dream but we kept having to go back in time to stop acolytes from killing their own grandparents.
  25. Yeah, next time we restock remind me not to go to denziens and demonic appliances for our ovens. Prices are good but they keep adding weird features like that.
