That would probably be a good idea. Well Baxter can feel free to correct her if he wants, she hasn't gotten around to belly scratches so she hasn't noticed yet

Were you born with these powers or cursed? An odd question to say the least, Lucy knew of no Epics who had been born that way. In the early days some had pretended that they'd always existed, only recently revealing themselves. But there were too many other accounts, too many people who had been ordinary one day and the next simply not. "Cursed is one way to put it." She said bitterly. "The Dalles was ruled by someone who called it a blessing but I've never thought it so. All anyone with these abilities ever does is destroy things." Lucy gestured to Reader in the corner interrogating someone. "That's Reader over there. Perfect example. Given the ability to look at a person and know them more intimately than their own family. You would think knowing a person that deeply could only cause you to become closer, to become akin to family with them. Not him though, he has never hesitated to use his powers to attack people and destroy relationships." She heard a purring from beneath her hands, Dr. Games cat looking up at her in appreciation as she scratched behind his ears. "Now take this cute little thing. Given teeth far sharper than ours, concealed weapons that he can hide in his paws at a moments notice and what does he do? He asks for some pats. Doesn't force me to, he won't use the weapons nature has given him to attack me if I don't do what he wants. He just sits there, not understanding who I am or what I'm saying and he communicates with me more effectively than Reader ever could." Lucy sighed deeply. "So no, I don't believe I am cursed. I believe I am a curse. Who knows when it will happen, how or why but everything I know about Epics, everything I've felt since I got these abilities tells me that one day I will end up just as bad as Reader or worse." She paused, regarding the cat once more, eyes closed and purring. "And I see little beauty in that."

"Blossom and Cornucopia, stay with me. Hold back for now, and stay out of her line of fire. Try to help me figure out her power profile, if you can." Cornucopia nodded at Rainmakers instructions, all too happy to stay back from the potential danger. With Rainmaker here she could heal from all but the most serious wounds in an instant but the speed that this Epic was dropping people with was incredible. When in doubt, stay back from Epics who are alternately freezing people and throwing them into the sky. She noted mentally. She could feel both the heat from the Epic and the cold from her victims alternately burning and freezing the nearby grass on the fields, heat manipulation of some kind was obviously at work, that plus the human canonballs pointed to some kind of generic energy manipulation, either that or an illusionist and Cornucopia had yet to meet an illusionist who could concentrate enough light to physically scorch the earth. Then again by their very nature the most powerful illusionists would be the least well known, able to disguise themselves as anyone and anything, able to fake any powers that they wanted. So, heat manipulation at the least with possible further energy manipulation, either kinetic or photonic. Fighting directly with plants is a no-go then, she seemed to practically eat one of the grenades when she appeared so that's out. Gunfire then? I doubt she'd be acting so calm in the middle of an army if she couldn't defend against it but worth a shot I suppose. "Agreed." She said, hearing Blossoms communication "I haven't met an energy Epic who could manipulate both heat and kinetic energy but it's either that, a strength Epic or an illusionist. None of them particularly good options. If it's an illusionist or strength Epic simple gunfire should reveal it." Cornucopia readied another barrage of incendiary and gas grenades in case the firearms were ineffective. "Ready when you are."

Quick google search doesn't reveal anything, it's mostly just an avatar in youtube comments.

It does but you also need to take into account reference frames, there's functionally no difference between you hitting something and that something hitting you. So if it just stops anything from hitting her at all that would stop her from hitting anything too, which includes the ground and the air. Now as you say stopping things above a certain energy level works so she could say stop anything moving faster than say 10 mph but then she wouldn't be able to move faster than that either so she couldn't drive. Essentially I'm happy with the principle but I just wanted to point out the consequences behind it.

Obliteration has danger sense, that's how he can differentiate. Other than being a precog I don't know that it could really work like that.

Yeah I was about to say as well, I've got pages of problems that occur with kinetic energy Epics using powers defensively for Impact and MV. The simplest thing is to freeze a layer of air over their skin then that air acts as an impenetrable barrier since it can't move. But then you need to leave holes so they can breathe. I don't mind either, although if they don't play nicely I'm not sure how they'd get out alive. Plus Upgrades already got a dozen people fighting over him and he's in another city.

Most people still think he's an Allomancer WoB is that he took the Atium in the first place because he wanted to become an Allomancer so I doubt he would have just given up. Plus there's Shallans flashback.

Yeah I have certain headcanon as to how it works that helps me rationalize it. Whoops.

The Metal? I'm sure someone mentioned him once, seemed pretty strong. Oh yeah it was that Slontze who spilled my drink. Shame he didn't get to tell me about his powers before he died. Pulling the last of the zucchini's off, Bioterror introduced himself. "Bioterror. I'll get to the point, I used to own a small town some ways across the border but unfortunately I emptied it in under a month. I'm looking for a city where I don't have to kill a few dozen people a day just to make my point. In exchange I can provide my services to kill those who you do actually want dead." Bioterror glanced at the nearby pile of Zucchini's. Under his gaze the cells inside briefly came alive again, rapidly metabolizing their surroundings they literally ate themselves. The pile of vegetables withered instantly, decomposing into a pile of green mush. "Plants are a bit harder than people" Bioterror explained. "But I'm sure you can see the idea."

We're not sure on the canonicity but yeah he's in Portland, currently working for Corpsemaker and the Dominion.

Twi, how is the Financier likely to react if Bioterror turned his zucchini pile into a pile of rotted green mush?

Not particularly hard I'd imagine but considering who those Epics are rather incredibly dangerous. Speaking of, Twi did you want to go first with the Financier or should I introduce Bioterror?

Also he can breathe underwater so he goes to visit his undewater town from time to time. The other inhabitants were not so lucky. Feel free to treat this as fanon or as the insane ramblings of an Epic-creating obsessed madman as you choose. (I realize that nobody having mentioned any Oregonian towns suddenly vanishing presents some problems towards Oregones existence)

*sighs* Well it was capitalized so you all know what that means. Oregone: Primary: Large scale teleportation, widely known for teleporting an entire town from Oregon into the ocean when someone put coriander in his steak. Secondary: Speed, can move at incredibly fast speeds even without resorting to teleportation.

Having a Bad Day? Stop here for a Good Rant!
Voidus replied to traceria's topic in General Discussion
Really? Somewhere's actually getting a movie later than Australia for once? Might finally get enough backlash that publishers get the stupid differences in release dates sorted. -
Did I forget to mention that? I'm sure I put it in his character bio somewhere. Yeah sometimes the state he's in accidentally gets teleported.

So this would be a bad time to mention that the Adventurer accidentally just teleported Oregon to 5 miles from Babilar?

Well if he knew what the KR coming back meant it would make sense to be surprised at her.
-
Spikes also aren't that heavily invested though, I think it'd still work pretty well.

Cornucopia in particular wouldn't be likely to just accept a new ruler out of hand, she accepts Rainmaker because they naturally complement each other, she gets perfect weather for her plants plus guaranteed sunlight when she needs to heal. At the very least she could make it extremely undesirable for someone to try to boss her around, she essentially controls the entire city's food, water and utilities as well as possessing a veritable army of armed plants if she needs them. She might be willing to pretend someone else was in charge but if Rainmaker died she'd want to be the one calling the shots.
