It seemed to take Arsenal a few moments to realize what had been said, he was mid way through another lecture when he stopped and rolled up one pant leg. "LOCKSER!" He yelled, whirling to confront her. "Yessum?" She responded in her most innocent voice. "Oh dear, mix up the laundry? You need to be more careful or it might happen to your pants next time." By the way the veins on his temple were pulsing she thought there was a decent chance she may have just given Arsenal an aneurysm. MV crouched by a window, she couldn't see what was happening outside but she could certainly hear it. Several explosions shook the air, along with the loud booming of the lightning she'd seen it was certainly one noisy fight. Oh sparks, can I even block lightning? Or explosions? That's different to stopping a solid thing isn't it? Does lightning have momentum? Sparing a glance for the obviously terrified Bactrack, MV felt a protective instinct well up, conflicting with her desire to find Impact was her desire to protect Backtrack. How did this happen? I only met him today! Briefly closing her eyes, MV reached out to take Backtracks hand. She would have to trust Impact to keep herself safe for now, if there was one thing she could trust Impact to do it was to keep a cool head in a crisis. "Come on, we need to get out of here before we get blown up. Can you find one of the Epics from the city?" If they could leave a message for Impact with the city then someone would find her eventually. Wouldn't they?

She could have but it could be in character for her to leave them, there's no much point changing them if Arsenal never noticed. Plus it gives her an excuse for some revenge pranks on Reader for letting him know.

Given their opposing Intents (Not completely opposed like Ruin and Preservation but still certainly conflicting) I always assumed Odium just played them off against each other and then swept in while both were weakened. -
A fair bit of Brandons books are deconstructions of the genre(Mistborn-The Heroic Journey, Elantris-Zombies, Rithmatist was I believe based on RTS games like starcraft), one of the reasons he's so awesome. I love stereotypical fantasy as well (There's a reason it became a stereotype, it's fun to read) but Brandon always adds something new to it.

Huh. So my plan for an incorporeal who couldn't fly and was still affected by gravity is a no go? Well he was going to plummet into the earths core about 2 seconds after finding out he had powers so I guess it doesn't matter that much.

Devotion and Dominion from Sel. I'd say that Elantrians likely rank a bit higher than Radiants who in turn are probably above normal Mistborn and about on par with Lerasium Mistborn. -

There's a few different WoBs on that one, one states as natc said that it would permanently splice your DNA with the spike which would 'have some very unusaul results'. One states as Joe said that you could only burn a spike that had stolen your own power. One states that trying to burn one would cause intense pain and potentially nearly kill you I think. And a few more recent times it's been RAFO'd. So short answer: We have no idea.

Sounds interesting, looking forward to seeing them in Salem. Though I should probably point out that a statue of pure potassium in that size is almost certainly going to spontaneously combust.

As Twi said, Brandon tends to invert tropes quite a bit in his writing, the entire premise of Mistborn revolves around the inverted hero's journey, the hero went on his journey and the world was nearly destroyed, 1000 years later a bunch of thieves try to fix it.

At first Deathwish thought being thrown into a lake of Adulterers wouldn't be that bad, then he discovered they were all men.

Also I find the Dalles to be lacking Portlands array of interesting facial hair so I think he needs a beard or epic mustache of some kind.

Not sure if this is because of the recent downtime but I just noticed that when I'm upvoting people their total rep isn't changing.
