Having a Bad Day? Stop here for a Good Rant!
Voidus replied to traceria's topic in General Discussion
Have I mentioned how much I hate flying? I believe I mention it approximately every time I ever fly. Because I'm 6'5 and trying to fit into a seat designed for midgets so my knees are already located somewhere around my ears. Then inevitably someone sitting in front of me decides that hey I'm just not uncomfortable enough with my severe anxiety, chronic headaches and crushed limbs so they decide to recline the seat back as far as possible so my knees hit me in the face. And when I land I get to look forward to the terrible air quality of the flight triggering some latent medical issues so I'm going to feel like I'm getting stabbed in the eye for the next month or so. On the plus side I at least have painkillers that actually mildly help now so after nearly a decade of having these problems they're at least just tortuous rather than making me wish I was dead. -
Same thing I do in all of my apocalyptic survival plans, hide out at the university. Because if I'm going to die, I want to die surrounded by books and science.

Yay! Internet again! Been on a short trip with family for my grandfathers 80th birthday and haven't had much internet access so much apologies, pugs shall be offered as recompense for any who ask for it. (And those who don't because hey, free pugs) I've tried to follow the Questions but sorry if I missed anyone who wanted to talk to me about anything, just keep screaming til I notice "It's beautiful!" -Nevertheres final words Yay Astoria again! I'll try to get something up soon but I'll let you know if I need to ask anything. No. Nighthound doesn't deserve RDJs attention let alone his sarcasm. Only Obliteration is a cool enough villain to deserve that.
-
Nietzsche claimed that God is dead. Neverthere just called Nighthound God. Therefore Nighthound is dead. My logic is irrefutable!
-
Voidus is disappointed in the lack of Neverthere philosophy.

-Abraham from Steelheart. I think Edge has the right of it, if even Steelheart didn't kill weapons dealers they've obviously got some pretty good reasons behind it.
-
I think its more likely that weapons dealers would just refuse to visit Portland.
-
The ISS crew all decided to risk just jumping back to earth after Nevertheres constant appearances.
-
This actually reminds me, Nevertheres range is big enough that she could pretty much reach space.
-
Yeah that's like twice the height of Everest, I don't think theres enough oxygen to even stay alive, it's not even in the troposphere anymore.
-
Then drop right on top of the center of the city (Or more likely blown straight back out by Rainmaker) and that's assuming she's willing to wait for 24 hours and doesn't eat, drink or sleep during that time.

They don't have to lower the bubble at all if they don't want to, particularly if theres an angry Epic waiting outside or just create more stringent procedures like only leaving the bubble up for the time it takes the authorized entries to come in (So about 10 seconds) So not that big a window unless she's pushed right up against the bubble and knows when its coming down.
-
I was assuming that since theres a giant forcefield and her resurrection is relatively random in location that that'd result in her likely being locked out of Corvallis and then she'd be denied all future entry. Edit: Plus it means the next time she was captured they'd know to just keep her sedated all the time.
-
She's not immune to heat is she? I guess she could then try to reabsorb it but that'd either result in the restraints not melting or her just getting very severe burns instead of losing both hands entirely depending on how quickly she absorbed it.
-
Theres also the issue of if the restraints melt off then she's going to lose the use of her hands.
-
Pretty aware, her senses work more or less as normal so it's mostly limited by how much attention she's paying so if her projection was concentrating really hard on something she wouldn't notice much happening around her real body.
-
I'll just lock him up next to my real body and... He escaped. And now he knows where I live. *Cries for several hours*
-
Depends if the removed limbs etc. remain after being regenerated, same thing with reincarnation, does the old body remain? Also depends if it's just a speeded up version of regular healing, cell division etc. (Basically does Prof get really really hungry after he heals?) Cause that would still conserve matter. If not then yeah that'd probably be right up there. Quite happily, family that haven't killed each other despite being Epics means they care at least a bit about each other which means leverage.
-
Re: Countdowns first post, interesting character but murdering Vanillas for no reason is generally not approved of. Soulcaster is hardly likely to care about the matter personally but there are rules in place about using lethal force. Blowing off a limb or two should be ok under Soulcasters 'Training and Reprimanding Act' of 2020 If you still want to keep it in that's fine but Mouldbreaker might be notified and potentially pay Countdown a visit later if that's the case.

Neverthere's grin widened slightly as she watched the Epic leering at her body, attempting to employ no subtlety whatsoever he brazenly stared at her legs. Men are almost too easy sometimes. She mused to herself, shuffling plans around mentally to accommodate this new discovery, an Epic, apparently allied with Lightwards or at least working with him for now, clearly had some interests in women if the three others in the room were anything to go by. Her gaze quickly shifted to the two unknowns. Epics? The one who interrupted probably is. The other ones not from the MEE in any event but she doesn't exactly seem willing. Just a pretty girl he picked off the streets? Filing the information away, Neverthere allowed her grin to slide. Sometimes it was worth being serious with people, this Epic wasn't exactly starved for feminine attention so she doubted that her usual act would distract him much. "From you? Nothing in particular. I recognized Lucentia when I saw her last night and if I had to pick a contender for the inevitable battle for this city my votes probably with the guy with a dinosaur army, a floating fortress and allied with the Diamond Queen of Astoria. So I suppose the reason I'm here is to provide some assistance. Neverthere, master of espionage and intelligence at your service." She finished, sweeping another small curtsy before adopting her usual grin once more. "Also, some meanie from Corpsemakers camp killed my boyfriend last night so I wanted to get Wardy to bring him back. It's so hard to find a man with a sense of humour and 6 inch teeth capable of tearing through steel."

David wasn't singing when the first gun disintegrates plus Mitosis has an upper limit, yeah he can make a few hundred clones but as far as we know Curveballs power never ran out, he could make an infinite amount of matter if he had enough time. Conflux might be able to match matter creation but I seriously doubt it, he didn't even power all of Newcago just a large part of it and that only after its population had significantly dropped compared to today. Matter creation could power the entire planet pretty easily in terms of energy.

If it was my choice I'd definitely rule for Alex. Unfortunately characters never do what you storming want them to do.
-
Just finished it. He'd award Mouldbreaker the win on that, he usually rules in favour of the last person to actually die, setting up a surprise comeback like that would be something he'd greatly enjoy too so he'd definitely rule in favour of them. McMuffins>Everything. Big Al wins again!
-
Mitosis' clones had reduced mass to conserve matter, which was why they couldn't use guns. So yeah even the one other character who could create stuff out of nothing still wasn't as powerful.
-
She might be almost as powerful as Metronome the Great!
