  1. Not sure that that really works, there's not really a possibility for the laws of physics to mean that someone can control the ocean with their mind. Plus it would make Megan particularly difficult to explain.
  2. That's more savantism than general autism but I might incorporate some of it into the character. Mostly I just thought it'd be an interesting interaction with the corruption but I've been reading some books with autistic characters and I do like my research so I'll probably get through some biographical works too before I get started.
  3. On a different note I'm considering introducing an Epic who falls somewhere on the autism spectrum. It'll be a pretty big effort since I'd want to do a bunch of research beforehand but first I just wanted to check that nobody minded, either for personal reasons or because it might make for a bit of a departure from the overall atmosphere.
  4. I think he probably has good reason for not including them, he doesn't have the time to work through every possible scenario with every Aon so there's no way to know for sure that he's not introducing something completely broken.
  5. And an 'and then they conquered the known universe with their mightiness' list for Metronome since we don't want him to feel bad.
  6. Well I'd like to think the momentum twins would make it but given that I just spent half an hour brainstorming ways for Impact to kill people I don't think that's likely.
  7. All the main Obligators I can think of were male (Marsh, Vin's father, the one's Vin's gang were trying to con, Yomen), it might not be exclusively male but at the least I'd say it's a vastly male majority.
  8. *Sorely tempted to skip to last page of the forum and necro oldest thread* *Resists because is a nice person* *Remembers is first lurker of Dark Alley* *Shrugs and goes to sharpen spikes instead*
  9. Invulnerability Epic with a weakness to things that aren't paper?
  10. So the new year just started and the first thing I do after admiring the fireworks is head back inside and smash my head on a doorway. Because apparently being 6'4 isn't tall enough and I needed to grow some more despite being 23. Apparently when I was younger and short for my age there was one of those cruel irony genies listening when I wished I was taller.
  11. I couldn't even begin to get through my ideas related to Epic powers in thirty seconds. I'd die from old age before I got through it all.
  12. It might be able to have intent for it to count as it's own being then but again, Steelhearts weakness is specifically about people, I doubt he'd be afraid of a robot that wasn't afraid of him because it's kind of expected that robots don't fear people, you wouldn't try to intimidate a computer so you wouldn't be afraid of a computer that couldn't be intimidated.
  13. I think that would count as you doing it, and even if it didn't Steelhearts weakness was specifically people who didn't fear him so I doubt a robot would count unless it was insanely realistic maybe. Which is also the reason I doubt those would work, his weakness has to be activated by a person not fearing him, if there's no person involved at all it would still not do anything. Tripping might work though since that's arguably him causing it, but then he seems more prone to flying than walking.

    Children

I recommend not lurking in the Mistborn subsections much if you haven't even finished book 1, people generally try to be considerate but not everyone reads through the whole thread enough to know how far you've gotten. Especially since Mistborn is so old now people aren't used to having to use spoiler tags for it. But yeah, basically what everyone else said. Skaa would have had a very low infant mortality rate and pretty cruddy childcare probably but they had increased reproduction rates to make up for it. I imagine around 8/10 would have died before being able to do much work but that doesn't really matter if they all have 10 children or so to keep the population stable.
  15. Just checked and nope they took it away, she took it from her mistcloak when she escaped and put it back in. Makes sense, you don't leave a Mistborn with metal to use. Even if it's not particularly useful.
  16. See after the first few seconds I just clicked on it and then saw the picture title
  17. Happy New Years everyone! From the Voidus household.
  18. Hers wasn't inside her quite as much as theirs are and did she even have it in at that point?
  19. Well at the least they'd need an Ironmind so I don't think it's too likely. Though for a while I have liked the idea of the military employing them as portable, long term watchtowers. Just use an iron wire that they can store in and keep them tethered to the ground and you have a human kite.
  20. I imagine a Koloss burning Aluminium would destroy their spikes and either die or no longer be a full-blooded Koloss.
  21. Salem would be one of the safer choices for such a person and Soulcaster's generally on the side of not killing Vanillas for no reason but he also wouldn't tolerate killing Epics without consulting him since they're his main source of entertainment. Only problem other than that is that Salem already has an Epic-canceler. Although I suppose there could have been some rivalry between them since they're slightly different. It may or may not have been deliberate.
  22. I doubt he'd answer, questions on compounding are pretty routinely RAFO'd. Hopefully something comes up in BoM that opens up questions on it.
  23. Brandon explained that she just wasn't experienced enough with Atium to notice, Atium burns so quickly that most people think they have more than they do.
  24. I imagine so since Allomancers can tell what the entirety of their internal reserves are not just the surface area.
  25. I have an Epic profile with someone whose power is temperature manipulation and their name is Squeak so I'm fine with somewhat misleading names Fusion works much better for what you've described too in that it's more like an explosion than Antimatter is.
