  1. Ok, first thing, stats. @Aonar Faileas Dark Elves: Nature aligned, Dark aligned, (passive) increased mana, (passive) start with stealth skill. (passive) bonus to stealth in forests or at night. City Elves: Human aligned, (passive) increased mana, (passive) increased magic damage Spirits: Light aligned, (passive) greatly increased physical resistance, (passive) greatly decreased endurance, (passive) immune to light damage, (passive) decreased resistance to dark damage,(passive) decreased strength, (passive) start with magic skill. Wraiths: Dark aligned, (passive) greatly increased physical resistance, (passive) greatly decreased endurance, (passive) immune to dark damage, (passive) decreased resistance to light damage, (passive) decreased strength, (passive) start with magic skill. Next, now that we have quite a few players and people are starting to get into combat posts and such, a bit more information is in order I think so combat information, possible actions and more coming to this space soon. Actions: So actions you can take outside of combat, while you're in the city you can try to search for information, this will take 1 hour per attempt and may fail to yield any results or may yield a random result rather than the desired information. You can go to the stalls to buy equipment, this takes ~2 minutes per store visited. You can search for a particular item for sale, this takes 10 minutes per attempt. You can search for a quest, if there are none immediately obvious this will take 10 minutes per attempt. You can search the town for a particular service, this will take 15 minutes per attempt. You can search the town generally, this usually yields more information but of a random variety, takes 15 minute intervals. You can attempt to recruit an NPPC to your party, you can spend any amount of time on this search but the results will depend on the amount of time spent. 1 round takes 5 seconds of time.Movement: All characters and mobs can move towards each other at speed*5 meters per round. Base equipment stats: Adventurers trousers: 1 armour, Adventurers shirt: 1 armour, Bronze sword: 5 damage, Bow: 2 damage, wooden arrows: 1 damage.Damage: You deal damage equal to 1d5 die plus your attack plus the equipment you use (eg. for a human with base 5 attack while wielding a bronze sword: 1d5+5+5)You take damage equal to the output of the mosters roll * your resistance minus your armour (So if wearing both pieces of armour against Hobgoblin(Deals damage: 1d5+4), Hobgoblin deals: [(1d5+4)-2]Decimal damage: If you take or deal damage with a decimal, always round down. So if damage is 4.2 or 4.8 you would take 4 hitpoints off for both.
  2. Will do when I get back. Going to be taking things simple for a while while everyone gets used to the setting but i like dlc ideas. It is, information coming soon. Nice build. Guilds sort of function as quasi-classes but theres not a direct analog, it's mostly your skills.
  3. Yep. Most non-starting skills are 2 or more sp with a few exceptions.
  4. MV was still shaking, her face was slick with sweat. It had only been a moment but being forced to relive that and now Impact wasn't even here to help her, to stop her. There was no one to stop her from doing it all over again. Only Backtrack and some stupid vanilla from the Dalles. That stupid town that had imprisoned them, threatened to kill them and then conscripted them into their military. The stupid town that had stolen her sister. A cold glaze came over her vision as she stared the man down, a sudden, violent impulse to stop the mans heart, to steal the momentum of a car and crush him into a wall. Her gaze drifted to the only witness she'd need to take care of, the Epic with no combat abilities at all. The Epic who was useless to her other than as a tracking device to find her sister. Well she could find another tracker. But Backtrack had helped her. He'd taken her away from that creepy guy in the museum, helped her move through the Dalles without getting shot, helped her try to find MV, and then he'd helped her try to get in with Lightwards so that they could find her again. She took a deep breath, calming herself slowly. The blood that pumped through her veins drowned out the sound of the two speaking but it seemed that the Dalles man had finally gotten around to his offer, protection in exchange for service. The same deal that was offered everywhere nowadays, the only difference was how trustworthy the one offering it was. Megan Pierce did not trust the Dalles as an institution, sure a couple of people there had seemed tolerable, but there was that Reader guy, and the termination squad who more than balanced it out. But this wasn't an institution, this was one person. Did she trust the man before her. She stared at his face as silence descended again, Backtracks scared breathing the only noise. "Why should we trust you?" She asked bluntly. "Your town was nearly demolished by a bunch of panda bears, what makes you think you could handle Epics on this level?" She folded her arm, forcing her breathing to continue steadily. It had been quite some time since she'd felt that kind of anger, and she hadn't felt it on that level since the day she'd become an Epic.
  5. That classification system is meant to decide which city you start in, the undead and demons share an underworld like city. For the purposes of the RP I thought it'd be better if everyone started in the same city though so those don't have a lot of bearing on anything.
  6. Oh right, forgot my own race bonus for a second
  7. You could try to use the bow and any arrows you made without if you're a crafter but you'd get a pretty harsh deduction from your damage output and bows already have a lower damage output.
  8. Alrighty then, only other issue is you don't get to decide starting equipment. It's pre-generated based on your skills.
  9. Magic-writing is a higher level ability, you can take regular writing which eventually unlocks it though.
  10. Ooh pure mage. On mobile right now but pm coming soon.
  11. Not at all: Centaur: Nature aligned, (passive) Start with archery skill, (passive) increased stamina, (passive) Unable to equip leg armour, (passive) increased speed EDIT: For those who've read Darkness' latest post a few things to note: 1- He's currently trialing a weather system that I might integrate later, current excuse is that he's an alpha tester for that piece of content, if he joins a party with anyone else he loses that bonus and goes to default at the moment. 2- Slight misunderstanding there with how levels work: Total level is simply the cumulative score for all your skill levels not a separate stat, you gain xp for each skill individually by performing actions related to that skill. For example for most enemies your combat skill levels by dealing damage to that enemy at a rate of .5xp per damage dealt, this is separate from the experience gained by say sneaking up on that enemy which will give you xp towards your sneak skill but not your combat skills. Dealing a sneak attack will give xp to both. 3- Darkness came up with an idea for achievments that he wanted to try, I have actually had a similar idea that I wasn't sure I'd implement in the RP but I probably will, which is titles. Titles bestow ongoing passive benefits but you can only have one equipped at a time. Your equipped title is also visible to other players for example if I acquired the Adventurer title my name would become Voidus [The Adventurer] So those achievements listed will be retconned but I will be doing something similar.
  12. Well my other rp started up if anyone wants to take a look, feedback is appreciated even if you're not too interested in joining. Also, MV post coming soon!
  13. Ok, for those interested in talking to the first quest NPCs, this part should be pretty easily discoverable so I'll just make it public- Dialogue tree- NPC: A brave adventurer! Thank goodness! the town has been surrounded by goblins! They've killed off all the livestock and captured our town healer!Player:-That's terrible!(NPC response) - I know! And we're all just farmers and tradesman, we can't rescue the healer but our town will be doomed without them!-Why are goblins attacking a small town?(NPC response) - How should I know!? They just suddenly arrived here and started attacking!-How did they kidnap the healer?(NPC response) - Well he was wandering alone outside the town walls, picking some herbs and they just kidnapped her(Player response) - How do you know they kidnapped him if he was wandering alone?(NPC response)- ... we don't have time for this!-Maybe I should join the goblins(NPC response) - How could you! We're in dire need of your help!NPC: So won't you please rescue our town from the goblins and bring back Luka the healer?(Accept quest: Saving the town from goblins? YES/NO)(Conversation ends)If talk to NPC again:NPC: Shall I repeat that?Player:-Yes(Repeats first conversation)-No(Ends conversation)Any of the NPCs not at a stall or having a quest marker over them will appear as normal people, they can carry on fairly normal conversation and while they don't know much about how the players got stuck in the game they can give you a hint on where to go to find out more information. I can PM you the relevant clue if that's something your character would ask about.
  14. And profile sent. Something I just realized I didn't mention is that all players start with 100 gold pieces (gp) Also Edgedancer coined the term NPPC which I'm using, for all NPCs who are players in the game.
  15. Yup, not sure it's possible to change the code in such a way to accept it without a fair bit of work so looking for some other way to send privately. Ah well, still happy so many people are willing to join.
  16. Yeah tried that, recognizes the user but on sending it breaks it back into two people and gives an undeliverable message.
  17. I haven't been active there in a while so not sure.
  18. You start out with suitable beginners equipment, I'll send you a pm shortly with your equipment and starting stats and abilities. Also assuming you mean forest elf, which means you also get farsight as a skill for free @Bond, Nahel Bond - Your display name is causing some issues with sending a pm, I can send you an email or you may need to change your name. The comma seems to be throwing the name detection off into thinking you're two people.
  19. Certainly are, Ogre: Dark alignment, (passive) Strength bonus, (passive) requires custom or ogre-dropped armour to equip, (passive) reduced dexterity, (passive) stealth skills less effective, (passive) bonus to bare-handed damage
  20. This is why I love the Shard, everyone apologizes and even thanks people for getting called out. We're the Britain of the internet. Thanks both of you for clearing everything up so quickly. We now return to your regularly scheduled viewing.
  21. 22. The town of beginnings was struck by a sudden golden light, closer inspection revealed it to be several dozen beams of bright golden light descending from the sky into the town square. These beams of light slowly resolved themselves into all manner of people, Undead zombies wielding bows, demonic beings with swords, angelic visions wielding magic in the palm of their hand. The NPCs surrounding the square mostly ignored this sight, a couple ventured into the middle of the square and small question marks appeared over there head. Some of the people from the beams walked towards these NPCs and began talking to them, others sprinted away from the square immediately, running to explore the town and surroundings. A small handful of these people did nothing at all, unlike the others who, whether talking, running or just wandering all had the same blank, expressionless face, these few were gazing around with confusion and a touch of horror. The game of guilds had captured its first victims, living people had been brought into the world of a game, with no clue as to how this had happened or what they could do to get out again. ========================================== To the north lies an undeveloped portion of the town, with many fields waiting to be planted and plots of land awaiting buildings. To the east lies a great lake, surrounded by a small forest. To the west extends a hilly terrain, with rocky cliffs, small caves and a number of ruined buildings. In the far distance a large intact tower is just visible on the horizon. To the south is the ocean, with a port with many boats docked, and a mix of humans, hobbits and elves swarming back and forth, carrying cargo. The town itself is split in three, the marketplace where most stores set up their wares, and a few empty stalls are available for rent. The guilds district, a combination of low-income residents and the guild halls of the town. And the residents district, where most of the towns inhabitants live and where some shops have their headquarters, which often sell higher quality merchandise.
  23. Ok, think I've got everything sorted, game will be beginning shortly, I'll create a new thread and set the scene, I'll list directions to explore and if you want to go a particular direction then PM me and I'll tell you what there is to do/find. I'll also be posting a list of NPC players here shortly, if you want to party up with one let me know and I'll either start a collab for you to try and convince them or let you know if you can just go ahead and party up. Clans are more permanent. Parties are meant for short term adventures, clans are meant to be longer term, usually lasting your entire playthrough. Clans can own property, own a shared treasury and gain some other miscellaneous benefits. Parties can share combat experience, divide loot automatically and complete quests as a group. So even if you're in a clan with someone you would usually form a party with that person if you're also planning on working together to take down a boss, go grinding or complete a quest together.
  24. Guild membership is decided by personal choice and a short quest. For Parties or Clans let me know which you'd prefer.
  25. Ok looks like tensions are running a bit high here, posts will be reviewed by mods but in the meantime: @Darkness Ascendant Try to keep in mind that when someone is experiencing as much stress and anger as @Cognizantastic is that they're 1) Not likely to be at their most polite when someone suggests a relatively extreme solution 2) They should not be making the decision to try to ruin the life of the object of their anger. Even if a public calling-out was required the decision to do so is not one best made while you're still red with rage. @Cognizantastic While I can tell where you were coming from please try to keep the bolded, caps-lock yelling to a minimum. Yes it was an extreme solution and one that many could consider offensive but the last thing we want is to turn this into a youtube comments section and just yell at each other. Keeping an eye on the thread for the moment, anyone involved feel free to PM myself or other mods/admins if you feel further moderation is immediately required.
