  1. Ability to channel, finesse with weaves and elemental affinity are all separate traits from what we've discovered, although if you use an Atium spike and don't mind significantly more corruption to the soul you can rip off a larger piece of spiritweb and gain multiple of those traits.
  2. Another idea for Oregons destruction, the arrival of one of the many Epics in my backlog, Red (Who now regrets his name once he learns of the Red who resides in Portland) and his many followers. 151 followers to be exact. (Well actually 153 since I count togepi and Ho-oh as well) And no I'm not just suggesting this because I went to the effort (read: Had tremendous fun) of creating an Epic profile for every Gen 1 pokemon.
  3. It'd be one of the most dangerous cities to be in for him when he still had a cooldown on his teleporting but he could definitely do some serious damage if he wanted. Given that a large number of Epics and Vanillas all pack into a single small space on a daily basis, while unconscious, it'd be a pretty prime target.
  4. Dear Primary power: Telepathy (Tier 1) - Possesses highly limited telepathy, is able to tell at a glance what pet names people use for each other.
  5. Having fun? We could make it a competition if you want? Who can produce the most underpowered/overpowered Epic in theme from a name.
  6. I actually already had mine saved somewhere, though I think it was under a different name like Offence. So I may have cheated a bit there
  7. Step up: Primary power - Can create footholds in the air, allowing them to walk into the air. Step up 2: Primary power - Can turn any street into a staircase
  8. Yeah I used to just sit for a couple of hours and go on a wikipedia journey, just keep clicking through links until I found a page that was interesting, then make an Epic about it. Insult: Primary power - insult curse - can cause anyone in her vicinity who speaks an insult to have their tongue rip free from their mouth and fly towards her. Can set specific standards such as insulting a specific person or concept, target only one person in her vicinity, etc. Not necessarily lethal but most people who have their tongues torn free choke to death on their blood or bleed out unless they receive assistance.
  9. Her Primary power: Ominous aura, capable of letting off an aura that induces terrible fear in any living creatures nearby, is even capable of killing small or weak life forms. Passive power: Banshee cry, (Instant death tier 3) anything which hears her voice is struck instantly dead. No one knows Her real name, she wanders the country in search of some purpose, but as none live long enough to hear it, most simply avoid her figure as soon as they see her.
  10. Uhhhhhh Passive: Continually makes people feel like he's (Or if in a crowd, a vague sense that someone) about to interrupt them when speaking, this typically leads to people using a lot of filler words when talking in his presence. Has been used by some High Epics in an espionage war against their opponents to make them seem less charismatic as they keep mumbling and losing their place in speeches.
  11. I already have Opportunity: Primary power – Precognition(Tier 2), able to see one targets future up to 3 seconds in advance. secondary power – Vibration manipulation (Tier 3), able to create vibrations in any living organism that are capable of bursting internal organs, requires touch.
  12. After your 3000th or so you stop asking why and you learn to just enjoy the ride. ... I'll leave that for someone else to try.
  13. But are they really throw away Epics? Or am I secretly just creating dossiers for all the superpowered Epics who will take place in the inevitable uprising of doom!? Or do I just like creating Epics more than is sensible? Who knows!? ... Whoknows Primary power: Information manipulation (Tier 3) able to restrict one piece of information from the awareness of everyone in a city-wide radius, preventing anyone from consciously being aware of that information or being able to divulge it. Passive power: Memory manipulation (Tier 3) - able to absorb the semantic memories of those close by, this is a slow process but anyone who spends an extended period of time in his presence will gradually lose more and more of these memories. Vanillas who experience prolonged exposure have been known to have permanent memory impairment, either losing their memory completely or losing the ability to generate memories. (Couldn't help myself)
  14. Oh we did that ages ago. You never wondered why the seals are all circles? They could almost be mistaken for some kind of cookie...
  15. Bioterror took a seat in the box that he'd been informed was for his use, along with perhaps a few other notable Epics in the city. He'd considered ignoring the invitation and skipping this even entirely, but he had no idea who this Winterspell was, what kind of power he wielded, both supernatural and political. Taking a grape from a nearby bowl, he reclined in his chair, looking only slightly oddly shaped as opposed to his previous hulking reptilian mass. This did seem to be a formal event of some kind, so he'd left most of his biomass back at the house, assuming a form that was more or less human, although his muscles would appear oddly shaped to an observer. Tapping on his collar, he set some slightly softer than usual music to play while he waited, there was little chance of him getting to fight personally any time soon so nothing too dramatic, perhaps something melancholy? Heart of Courage?, no, after the fall perhaps? He relaxed back, closing his eyes as he let the music wash over him before reluctantly opening them again. This would be a good chance to observe some of his competition, and a good place to gather information. He had accepted Deathgales offer to lead the investigation on that shadow Epic but how did you investigate a sparking teleporter? You found a place that looked interesting, and watched the shadows, that was how. It was not particularly likely that he'd find his quarry here, but if nothing else he'd learn about some of the other Epics. And if that shadow-slontze did show up, then Bioterror was ready to pounce at any moment.
  16. I'll be trying to get some Astoria, Salem and Portland posts up soon, stupid RL is limiting my availability to a laptop and doing a whole post on mobile is kind of difficult for me.
  17. Speaking of our customer service desk, I think they deserve a shoutout, due to their diligent efforts in collaboration with R&D we have yet to receive a single complaint about a Dark Alley product or service. What's their secret? Some say it's because the forms to file the paperwork are located in another dimension and have been ensorcelled to drive any mortal readers insane. Others say it's because people get spiked before they can actually file the complaint. And still others say it's because we train our reps to use Hemalurgically fueled emotional allomancy to make people feel too happy to file a complaint. Well however they do it, here's to our customer service reps! *raises cookie*
  18. She pretty much would be, she can manipulate matter both spatially and through its very makeup, with no limits or restrictions on her power she could turn the world into anything she wanted, only thing she lacks is information based powers so she wouldn't be all knowing but yeah she'd be nigh-omnipotent, she could turn the earth into a cookie, teleport it next to a black hole, then turn that black hole into a giant glass of milk to dip the cookie into.
  19. The universe would break? They don't exactly compound off of each other but it'd create some very strong effects, for instance Upgraded barrier breaker could probably rid Upgrade of his requirement to touch the things he's upgrading, or his time limit potentially, allowing for Upgrade to Upgrade multiple Epics at range. Their combined abilities on other Epics would be even more terrifying. Nighthound: Enslaves all of humanity and has his requirements for physical touch and that he can't turn Epics into Hounds removed. Lightwards: Has no upper limit on zombies, can also resurrect over large distances. Instantly turns Oregon into Zombieland (Only with more dinosaurs) Corpsemaker: Everyone in the state simultaneously dies. Bioterror: See above the Metal: See above, but also all the buildings get crushed. Arsenal: Oregon is instantly filled with 5 million nukes that are then launched at every other country in the world. Funtimes: The world is turned into one giant pancake, is able to directly transmute living flesh, all Epics are simultaneously turned into pugs.
  20. Yeah the cities heavy hitters would have to be in opposing factions for any significant risk to the city to happen, Soulcaster himself couldn't really do much to the city itself, upgraded or not, but he does have the ability to pretty much instantly shut down any Epic that starts trouble in the city, between Soulcaster and Showstopper Salem would be one of the safest cities from Epic attack. And while not fool-proof Sentry keeps a close enough eye on the city that any attempt to take it down by subterfuge or a more subtle sabotage would also be pretty doomed without a lot of plot convenience. I'd be a bit cautious about introducing a meta-epic, especially another one that enhances other Epics in some way. They're a rare but very powerful breed and they can break a cities balance pretty easily. And if any ever showed up in Salem they would be recruited or killed very quickly.
  21. We already have properly spikend and tamed ones in the pens of hemalurgic abominations, the ones loose in the offices are just wild ones. You can keep them if you need wild specimens for your resource, but they can be found everywhere in and around the Alleys. Something about the alleys seems to draw insane creatures of ancient power. Personally I think they just like the smell of baking. Or the tortured screams of a billion souls. One of the other.
  22. Read over my last post and accidentally re-read puppet master as puppy master. And, well you know how it works. Puppy Master: Primary power: Able to summon and command a swarm of adorable puppies, typically composed of a mix of pugs and labs. Secondary power: Synchronicity, able to synchronize the minds of puppies, causing them to act in concert. Of course, being puppies mostly they just all tilt their heads or fall down together. Tertiary power: Cuteness magnification, can cause a multiplication of people emotional state towards puppies. Is known for once accidentally killing an entire town by overloading their brains with adorableness when he arranged for 40 of his pugs to put on a christmas play.
  23. Apologies for my absence all, got caught up in some research into temporal teacakes and somehow I wound up at the heat death of the universe. Trying to fashion a new time machine out of nothing but dissipated waste energy is not an easy task. Anyways, welcome to all new denziens, feel free to take any of the free labs, just make sure you clean out any lingering eldritch abominations manifested from the deepest recesses of human consciousness.
  24. I realize that most of the above were joking but for the record, I have Metronomes tier 5 power (The highest on my self-made scale and so I guess what they'd be boosted to by Upgrade) to be complete chronoperception, perceiving all timelines over all time. So that would be infinite pre and retrocognition as well as awareness of what decisions change what through perception of alternate timelines. Not quite complete time manipulation but it would make him the ultimate puppet master.
