  1. We didnt even see a Voidform parshman in the area Kaladin was scouting. We know the townspeople saw a few "red lights" but could that have been something else? What forms are these parshmen holding anyway? It wasnt warform, but could it have been workform? I remember we had a theory running that the Everstorm doesnt necessarily bestow Stormform and could just give any of the basic forms if the parshman resisted.
  2. I think this is a bit of a stretch to think that the Everstorm would have any effect on Zahel/Vasher. There is no precedent to think that anything other than the parshmen bond to spren the way they do and would thereby be effected by the Everstorm. As the WoB says, it "signals something bad for him", which I take to mean he understands that that the Shard of Evil is coming closer to being released.
  3. Yea. Since making my original statement ive been convinced that it couldnt have been forged. But now im starting to lean towards the windspren idea...need more information...
  4. Agreed. I was arguing against the claim that people didn't know how to do certain tasks at all, not that the lack of so many workers would/wouldn't hav an effect.
  5. From what we know of Plate, it grows on its own when fed stormlight and cant disappear like the Blades. I dont think it will just "appear". I think itll have to be forged into something and that will have it maintain its shape and will forever grow back to that form.
  6. Im liking the theory of it being stormlight, because it goes along with the "Investiture solid form = metal" thing, and it makes sense that the Blade would be a spren but not the Plate because the Plate still needs to feed off of stormlight to work while the blade does not because it is a full blown spren and is the source of its own Investiture. The question becomes how does one condense stormlight into metal that can forged into Plate?
  7. It may be that Thude is the group that is in negotiations with Azir, but i dont think they could have gotten as far as Thaylen City in only 2 - 3 weeks. Not with the type of group they had.
  8. I think they had to be taught their job by someone at somepoint. If it was so complicated that humans didnt know how to do it, then they wouldnt have been able to figure it out themselves while in slaveform.
  9. So I'm not sure why we are assuming that he has future sight. We know he got some visions of the everstorm, but we don't know the detail of his vision. It may not have been a vision of the everstorm from the future but instead a grander understanding of multiple perspectives about the Everstorm. My theory is he doesn't have future sight, he gets Truths about situations. Be that meaning innately understanding multiple ppls perspectives on the situation, or knowing the history of the situation. I would venture a guess that this would be more from.Cultivation but that's so far into sepculation theory that I don't want to bother arguing that point. I just think we are jumping to conclusions about him seeing the future and maybe it's something a bit more subtle than that.
  10. Unless I'm forgetting something here, are we positive that the Truthswatchers power is Future Sight? From what I remember from WoR (the book as documented in the epigraphs) it's not necessarily seeing the future. Id theories that it's more about being able to see a grander perspective on any given situation, be that a situations past or several perspectives on the same situation.
  11. Ooooo. I dont remember that. Im starting my reread of WoR now.
  12. Yes, yes, of course
  13. The Dawnshards are said to "bind all creatures voidish and mortal", so they sound like an item. (Possibly the black orbs that Gavilar had but that is still up for debate.)
  14. @Calderis hmm. Well you have a solid point. The Stormfather is necessary for highstorms which have been around since before the Shattering, but then i dont get what the Stormfather meant by "I am the memory men create for him now that he is gone." The Stormfather existed before and is independent from Honor. Also, Shardic involvement may only be requirement for Bondsmith bonds? Seeing as the only Bondsmith we know are Dalinar (=Stormfather) and Taravangian (=Nightwatcher) (edit: the Mr. T part is theory of course). So i still dont see a Dawnsinger being a spren for a Bondmsith. I cant rule it out, but i dont see it happening. Unless somehow the Dawnsingers were Splinters after the shattering, in which case they are shardic-spren.
  15. Well, my theory is that the Death Rattles are words of people who are currently in Damnation, slipping through the mouth of people headed that way. This Death Rattle MUST be coming from Talenel when he is Damnation still. Whether or not this crack between realms is due to an Unmade, im not sure.
  16. Thats what im thinking. Im also thinking this will give him every Voidsurge power. He wont be stuck to just 2 powers. Which will mean all the Orders of the KR will have to be united to defeat him.
  17. @Calderis Thanks for all those sources. Its great to have people who can really provide concrete information like that! However, i dont see a proof that the Stormfather predated the shattering, necessarily. According to your sources, we know the highstorms predated the Shattering, and we know that the Stormfather is the method by which Stormlight is given, but we dont know if Stormlight was there before the Shattering. It could be that the climate event of the highstorms was present on Roshar which led to the evaolution of all the plants and life on the planet, but that doesnt necessitate Stormlight being there, only the climate event of highstorms. And what of the Nightwatcher? Was it there pre-shattering and was only later absorbed by Cultivation as a Cognitive Shadow? But we have no proof that one is capable of that. We have proof that shard-splinter-spren (ie Stormfather, nightwatcher) are capable of that, but nothing points to allowing Dawnsingers the same ability. Except for this.... (thanks @FiveLate) IF the Dawnsingers were changed to be Unmade and were basically Cognitive Shadows of Odium and became splinter-shard-spren, then it would make sense that one of them could be used to bond a Bondsmith, and is probably Odium's Champion. And that would be that the one remaining Dawnsinger that wasnt Unmade could also bond a Bondsmith. Which then makes me ask, which of the Unmade is the spren for the Champion? Or are all of them o.0?
  18. Ehhh, do you have a source for the Stormfather predating Honor or being a spren of Adonalsium? From what the Stormfather has said, he is a creation of man from the memory of the Almightly (re: Honor). And by your logic, the Stormfather is to Honor what the Nightwatcher is to Cultivation.
  19. Ah that does make sense. And if that is true, that would further my thought that the 10th Dawnsinger isnt going to be used for Bondsmiths, seeing as the two other Bondsmiths we know of are bonded to Shard-spren. Which then send me thinking that Odium's Champion is the 3rd Bondsmith and will be attached to Odium's spren. So definitely not a Dawnsinger.
  20. We havent seen it do anything, but that doesnt mean it wont when the time comes. I just dont think we can jump to say the 10th Dawnsinger is for Bondsmiths, Btw, do we have a guess as to what superspren Tarvangian could be bonding to?
  21. It could be that maybe some powers (ie. healing) stick with them despite distance from their Radiant?
  22. I'm not so sure I like this. The Stormfather isnt considered a Dawnsinger and is used to bond Bondsmiths, what makes you think that a final Dawnsinger would do that neccsarily? I'm more likely to think the final non-corrupt Dawnsinger would be that blue spren from the Interlude in with Axies the Collector.
  23. So the question then becomes what reactivated them? EDIT: question, and this is just because i may be lacking in knowledge, but wasnt "The Thrill" as Dalinar speaks about active for while? Its part of Alethi battle culture. How are we distinguishing these things from each other? I didnt mean to say he shouldnt be training an heir, that just a basic good thing to do as a ruler, just that it wasnt necessarily the necessary task in this context.
  24. Putting Gavilar aside for a moment, this doesnt answer why the Stormfather sent the visions in the first place. Yes, the Desolation needs no usher, but then why did the Stormfather just decide to start sending visions? Something must have triggered that.
  25. But why was he being sent the visions? There has to be reason that the Stormfather decided it was time to start sending them, thereby initiating the return of the KR in one way or another.
