  1. Yes please Silverlight. Some of the answer that we seem concerning the worldhopping community may soon be revealed. O master of adolasium I beseech thee to make it so!
  2. Iridescent tones had yet to shine.
  3. When you have tried on multiple occasions to turn one of your best friends into a sanderfan and you continue to fail at which point all that you can do is launch into a cosmere inspired cursing storm.
  4. That faced of Ishar's may soon be mangled when Nale gets his hands on him. Me thinks some dispensation of justice is in order. As for Ash she is rather good looking. What would Shallan say if she saw her I wonder. @king of nowhere is that before or after her face turns as red as her hair?
  5. Barely contained rage shook the cosmere.
  6. We fear thy power O mighty one do not smite we who merely seek to awaken the old magics.
  7. Welcome to the shard. While the theory is a interesting one there are several WoB's which make that problematic for me: THE ONLY JOE Was Hoid offered one of the Shards we know about. BRANDON SANDERSON You know, I can't remember which Shard I've shown you, Wait, no I haven't shown you that one. QUESTION Is Hoid any of the Shards of Adonalsium? BRANDON SANDERSON Good question. He does not hold a Shard. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These lead me to the conclusion that while Hoid was there he is not nor has he ever been a holder of a significant version of Adonalsium's power. @Roadwalker and @TheVillageIdiot you are both correct that the present tense on the second WoB disproves his present holding of the power. The first addresses the fact that he was offered a shard if he had in fact been Adonalsium itself then does it make sense that an offer would have been made to restore part of its power? This leads me to believe that at no point in the past did he ever hold some or all of Adolnasium's power.
  8. Thank you @Calderis for setting me straight on the fact that they are not the same. @PhoenixQuill I realized that immediately after posting the question, but then it occurred to me that Harmony never truly states that Lessor came there he only stated that she asked him to look out for Wax which could have come as she was dying not definitively when she appeared in the CR.
  9. Upon completing shadows of self something dawned on me! We are never told what happens when a Kendra dies. Do they pass on to the Beyond like other beings or do they simply cease to exist. In other words would Wax be reunited with lessie/ paalm on the other side when he does or will he be alone when he passed on.
  10. I'll imbue you with the power of a shard and unleash the wrath of a deity who lacks context. I'll help you learn the true meaning of a "the shattering of Adonalsium". We'll see if glass knives agree with you.
  11. Nothing good that's for sure!!
  12. You are correct. It is my belief that at this stage the best answer is that we simply do not have enough information to determine how the murders occurred. The speculation is both valid and fascinating, but it cannot be any more than that without the grounding. Listen, I like it as a fascinating bit of speculation the only point that I am arguing is the likelihood of such a speculation is unlikely. I myself provided something akin somewhat supporting speculation to the very speculation that I called unlikely. The fact that it is not grounded or even unlikely was not causing me to dismiss it. Rather I simply wondered at whether this idea had more to support it than any of the other speculative attempts that have been made.
  13. Great catch I wrote that post in a hurry. Thank you for the correction. As for the likelihood of the theory it is possible though it would need some degree of proof to make a leap into the realm of some of the theories that I have seen. It is an interesting idea to be sure, but without a grounding in text or WoB it is mere speculation.
  14. While @WhiteLeeopard's theory is a bit farfetched there are a couple of factors to consider: 1st there are two shards who could be at play as far as the KR are concerned. Honor and Cultivation could well be working concert in Urithiru. If so then the place was designed not only to uphold honor's ideals, but also to maintain order within the halls of Urithiru. There are 2 possible explanations that I can think of that would explain this and still maintain the MP status of the skybreakers as laid out by the WoB. The first is that the role of the skybreakers as MP's might be true everywhere, but Urithiru with the powers of the shards regulating the actions of the KR in the city. The second is that while they act the part of maintaining order they do not impose the punishments on the guilty. That mandate could well fall under the power of the two shards. @Calderis's point concerning the difficulty of regulating so many different oaths and moral outlooks is quite true. I would say though that with the shards perhaps setting up a system run on their dual powers the task of determining the true circumstances and whether a punishment is deserved.
  15. The man who bound the very force of the storms that ravage the world will not easily cow. The Heralds may be impressive, but if he has Nale on his side that will make a differemce. Perhaps Taln (if that is in fact who the mad man is) recovers and comes back into the fold then you have got two heralds and the blackthorn that should make quite the impression even on half mad heralds.
  16. It would be interesting if he proves to be the first to reaffirm his commitment to an officially reconstituted order of skybreakers in Urithiru! If that does happen then a coalition of the Blackthorn beating some sense into the other heralds is not an impossible outcome. I would love to see that.
  17. alternatively WoR
  18. I would love to see a combination of windrunner and dustbringers that would create the ultimate shock warrior.
  19. Welcome @AntiqueArabesque to Brandon's Perpendicularity. We look forward to your insights which will add to our knowledge of Brandon's written word. Enjoy yourself, but as my @Firerust has stated stay away from the realmatically modified baked goods. Also have an upvote for creating such a delightful piece of click bait!
  20. As Vin prepares to storm Kreddik Shaw to confront TLR she sings "lets get down to business to defeat the lord ruler" (Mulan). Sadeas at any point singing "i just can't wait to be king" because why not? The heralds singing " do you want to break the oathpact?
  21. There are a many people who believe that jews wear yarmulke's to cover the horns that we supposedly have. That idea actually came from a mistaken translation of the hebrew bible. The latin translation of the portion that deals with Moses descending Mount Sinai with the second set of stone tablets mistranslated the word karnayim (beams) as keren which means horn. That led to Michelangelo's moses being depicted with two horns. That whole misconception took off from there. I do believe that at least on your first point you are absolutely correct as to where that idea may have developed. It should be noted that the czarist propaganda work the protocol's of the elders of zion lay out this idea in stomach sickening length. @Delightful your analysis is spot on and a pretty accurate depiction of things as they stand.
  22. I would imagine that the Hierocracy was facilitated by just such a situation. With the ardentia and women in control of the knowledge of Alethkhar kings, highprinces, the public at large would be easy to control. With the fall of the vorin church from power the culture of dating which as indicate in comments above would require trust perhaps came about as women then carved their own sphere of power outside that of the vorin church. perhaps in many ways supplanting it.
