Axies, unless you happen to be a fan of aged meat. Ah there is a question I really want to ask but it has implicit Oathbringer spoilers, so instead: who would be more likely to like scary movies, Shallan or Khriss?

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

I know like everyone and their chull has said this already, but I just literally fist-pumped and screamed when Kaladin punched Roshone XD I just really want someone to draw a picture of this please
-
I was going to say Kaladin because he's more likely to kill anyone, but then I remembered Kal has a thing for protecting small boys. So I guess Raoden by default? Who would be more likely to toilet paper someone's house, Siri or Lift?

Why The Rithmatist is my favorite Brandon Sanderson book (spoilers)
Taliax replied to Two McMillion's topic in The Rithmatist
I just finished this book, and I thought it was pretty dang awesome. Thanks TwoMcMillion for the super awesome description of why it's awesome. Having read Steelheart before this, I see a lot of similarities between Joel and David. I like them both a lot and I don't think I'd try to put one over the other right now, especially since David's had 3 books and Joel has only had 1. But anyway, I really loved the ending and how Joel is able to do so much more than he realizes with his ability, even though he's not a Rhithmatist. This book honestly has one of the most triumphant endings of any I've read. Also, I'm having to do a huge amount of math before my Calculus class starts, so I really appreciate this book giving me a little bit more appreciation for the subject. -
Brandon's new writing schedule, announced on his blog
Taliax replied to Unknowingly's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I just finished reading The Rhithmatist yesterday, so as much as I love the Cosmere, I would be perfectly fine with Rhithmatist 2 being in there. I really do hope the random novella is Cosmere, though. Still, I'm one of those people who really just wants Nightblood. ^^;- 12 replies

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Taliax replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When you want to preorder Oathbringer, but aren't quite sure how to do that at the BYU Bookstore yet. (I think I have to wait until there's a post on Brandon's blog about it...?) -
Great! Thanks, that's really helpful! I'm excited!
-
Hi, would I be able to join too? I don't have any evening classes so any day would work for me, preferably any day except Tuesday though because I will probably have the most homework on Tuesdays. Also, on a random BYU related note, a couple days ago I saw where the Bookstore had so many copies of the leatherbound Mistborn on display and I don't think I ever wanted such a ridiculously expensive book so much in my life.

Basically, what @Firerust said. This is great! I've been wanting to do some parodies like this but haven't gotten around to it yet. Thanks for posting!

^Stormlight Archive (nothing really specific, but inspired by Oathbringer) Definite Oathbringer spoilers:
-
This makes me hate Miles on a whole new level
-
Oh man this is hard. Slight spoilers for like everything. 1. Words of Radiance (I can't possibly say all of the awesome things about this book) 2. Way of Kings (Because Kaladin is a boss) 3. Well of Ascension (am I the only one who really liked this book?? I don't think I've seen anyone else like the Zane subplot, maybe it's just because I've been a teenage girl recently and I can see where Vin's coming from. I don't think she ever really loved him and I was never really worried about that, but I think she needed to consciously choose Elend when she had other options.) 4. Warbreaker (love Siri and Seb, also Lightsong's humor and Nightblood being a destructive puppy) 5. Final Empire (because Kelsier. Also because Vin and Elend at the balls are adorable.) 6. White Sand (prose) (I nearly cried when I finsihed this because I know the sequel can't possibly be out for like fiftyever) 7. Shadows of Self (Oh man this one also made me want to cry. But just because it's sad. In a good way.) 8. Hero of Ages (Still liked this one, especially the ending. I think my lower ranking of it probably comes from having parts of it spoiled, and the dramatic changes in Elend's character, which while necessary, also made me sad. I enjoyed reading him more when he could afford to be cute and innocent.) 9. Bands of Mourning (Wanted to rank this one higher because I love Steris but I can't ;; ) 10. Alloy of Law (Decent, just... don't really have much else to say about it. Wayne is cool?? I didn't expect Lessie to die in the first chapter??) 11. Elantris (the actual inside Elantris bits with Raoden were cool, but I didn't find the rest of it as gripping as his other books) So this basically turned into what I love about every Cosmere book... ^^;
-
@Tesh - the Elantris one and depressed Kaladin ones are great XD New Spring:
-
Sounds like there's a good reason Arelon never had an army. And why the final battle in Elantris had to take place in a different country. Raoden in Elantris seems super OP.

Fights you would like to see?
Taliax replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Saaaame Are these supposed to be ones from the same book, or can they be from different ones? Because I think Kaladin vs. Kelsier would be awesome, especially because their fighting styles would just be so different. -
You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Taliax replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
@Sunbird Yep that was it, besides Javert also having an unhealthy obsession with tracking him down. You know you're a Sanderfan when you implement Steris's idea of prewriting your humor into your daily life. -
You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Taliax replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Haha I really like this one! When you watch Le Mis, and just picture Javert as Nale the whole time. ...And sometimes Jean Valjean as Lift. -
You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Taliax replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
But then they would see you coming! Much better to be a Mistborn and see the lines of metal moving from their buttons or watches. (: -
Jumping into this quite late, and this might be a long shot, but could the gold skin have any connection with Sel? Elantrians have silver skin, is there any other Cosmere place/nationality known to have metallic skin? This may be irrelevant but it was a small thought.
-
This is fantastic! I used some of darebee's workout sheets on my mission, but I'd never seen a Mistborn one! That's great! They forgot to add in a level IV for people burning pewter though

Welcome to the Shard! Roshar is epic for sure, I just started reading Name of the Wind so I can't say much on Kvothe yet, though it's pretty hard to beat Kaladin for me. Anyway, hope you enjoy your stay, and do yourself a favor and stay away from the hemalurgically baked goods

I don't go onto the RP side really, but I did read the "evil pony" link in your sig and it was pretty great XD So I see where you're coming from there.
