Well, it's been a long time since I last played, but maybe it's about time I try again. I'll join! A little clarification on medallions: The Southern Scadrians distribute some of them on Cycle 0, but are there other ways of getting them? Is it possible to give someone else a medallion you possess? Could the Southern Scadrians just give themselves medallions on Cycle 0?

I'm going to apologize in advance for my inactivity this cycle and possibly in following cycles. IRL stuff takes priority I'll try to be as active as possible, but I can't promise anything.

Well, I finally managed to get on again. I even forgot to make a night PM We got one! I'll look at last cycle's thread later, to see what I can gather, but for now.. something that caught my eye. 1. Forgetting the number of necessary votes for a lynch is a stretch, but it's understandable, I suppose. However. Miracle Max is actually more helpful to the elims than the village, so them blatantly trying to get rid of Max might very easily be their way of incriminating Sart. Also, alienating Max isn't the best idea, yes, but treating Neutrals as "just another elim faction" is a sadly common stance in SE and Mafia in general. I can understand where he's coming from, even if I don't agree. The fact that you're so hung up on Max says something. You realize that keeping Max alive doesn't necessarily help the village win, yeah? 2. Okay, that reads slightly as trying to pocket CadCom. Especially considering you're under fire. And then we have a pretty big flip-flop, to borrow one of El's terms: You say that Len being an elim speaks for itself in regards to Bugsy, but then imply that he's an elim for.. having a vote moved off of him? Again, this was at a time when we didn't know Roadwalker wasn't Max, and I still stand by my belief that the elims are trying to toss the blame on people by associating them with Roadwalker's/El's death in one way or another. And it's very curious how you specify "moved from Bugsy to Roadwalker". In my opinion, the fact that a vote was moved from someone is first and foremost, and to who(m?) is secondary. Again, this reads as not wanting to commit, which I find suspicious. Plus, what does Bugsy have to do with where that vote was moved?? I'm confused. Sorry for mild incoherence, but it's 6:20 AM and I have nothing better to do (Mainly) For the reasons stated above, Devotary. (As a TL;DR: I think the elims are trying to frame people (namely Sart and Bugsy) for Roadwalker's/El's deaths, this is the next stage in their "plan": revealing these "suspicions" to the thread.) EDIT: I will suggest something to everyone: Don't focus on Devotary. We can decide whether or not to lynch her, but look back on the last cycles with the new information we have now. Analyze anyone that has posts worth analyzing. We need as many reads as possible, and this'll help massively.

I don't mind either way, whichever works best for you, Steel. I feel like we need to solidify a lynch at this point in the cycle. I'm going to keep my vote on Elenion.

Mid-Range Game 29: A Midsummer Night with No Moon
Eternum replied to DrakeMarshall's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Yes, Orlok was banished by Encanis. Good game, everyone! Orlok, Alv, Fifth and Devotary in particular. Orlok caught me on cycle one. No joke. I had misread the rules and mobile formatting was weird, so I thought the rules said that the Tinker had secrets, not the particular item. So, I pretended to be a Tinker, forgot there were no Storytellers in the game and overall didn't play my cards right. He called my bluff and basically blackmailed me. Well, to be fair we were blackmailing each-other, but that's a different story. I tried to sow chaos through him. Keyword: tried. I don't quite remember why Wonko targeted him, but honestly I was glad Alv.. Oh, Alv. This is a weird one. You see, this game alone has made me heavily consider beginning to worship the Gods of Luck and Chance. For those that don't know, he roleblocked Elandera, Wonko and Devotary through RNG. He can explain it better than I can, but.. yeah. Fifth played very well near the end there, catching Devotary (With Bort's help, admittedly). However, the last few cycles would have gone far differently if Bard hadn't.. well.. You have no idea how hard I laughed when this happened, but Bard accidentally killed himself by juggling Itiah when they sent in the kill against Xino. In the meantime, I was trying to convince Fifth to kill Bard with a (admittedly cursed) knife I gave him, and which he never suspected for some reason? That weirded me out, but it worked in my favor... To a point. See, had Itiah's kill actually gone through, I think this game would have ended differently. Devotary's claim of having used a Lodestone on Wonko would be impossible to dispute. Fifty can confirm or deny whether he would attack Bard in that scenario. Still, hindsight is 20/20. Devotary gets mad props for going as far as she did with an inactive teammate and two others who died so early-on, it's almost unfair. The moment in the elim doc when I finally manage to contact her will seem pretty weird to y'all I couldn't create PMs at all, so.. getting in contact with them was impossible. I managed to communicate by highlighting sentences in the elim doc I very much enjoyed this game, but I do feel it had problems. For starters, there were too many roleblocks/protects, and far too many of them were included in the game. Also, in my opinion, the Tehlin Monk should have been immune to the Skindancer, not the Scrael. Either way, there was no Skindancer in the game, so.. Moot point, I suppose. Still, it was fun! I consider this a win, to be honest Nobody that I know of even suspected me after Orlok, I managed to infiltrate the villager trust group and I didn't die! Looking forward to killing you all again in future games!- 406 replies

@randuir My biggest problem with Len's read of Araris is that Araris made a joke. The post that gave Bugsy a miniscule elim read was apparently taken by Len as a village tell for some reason, when it should be completely NAI as simply humor and nothing more. I might be tunneling at this point though, so I'll go to sleep and look at everything again in a new light tomorrow

Don't worry about it, I've grown increasingly conviced that this fabled "consistency" the more experienced players talk about is just a myth and nothing more. On another note, you can't be consistent if you don't know your own playstyle! Ah, I see. Well, I've responded to your first suspicion to the fullest of my ability. Do you have any more questions or things you'd like to point out? For that matter, does anyone else? I've been throwing a fair amount of shade around this cycle, but for now I'll vote for my first (and biggest) suspicion, Elenion.

@Elbereth I should answer.. what, exactly? Did I miss something? @randuir What you're missing is that when I placed it, I intended it to be a joke vote. As the cycle progressed, I decided to leave it where it was for reasons I have stated. Also, something to note regarding progression of thought, seeing as it's been a topic of discussion. Villagers actually do have it, while elims cannot. However, they can appear to have it. The difference is that elims have to plan it all out, thus making it more likely to seem "artificial" if they're not careful. Also, it coincidentally takes more time. It takes an obscene amount of effort to make something sound genuine if it's not. So, any posts like as CadCom's should be thoroughly scrutinized. All posts, imo, should be thoroughly scrutinized, but if I'm not willing to do something then I won't genuinely suggest it, and I lack both the patience and time necessary to do such a thing

@Steeldancer How accurate is the writeup? Are you differing between the vig and elim kills, or should we not trust anything that comes out of Grandpa Steel's mouth?

Interesting. @Fifth Scholar, why are you assuming Kidpen was the vig kill? Looking at it from an elim's perspective, Kidpen is a great target for the elim kill. She had only posted RP and other, non-game-related things, so killing her would get rid of a villager and give us little to no information at all. I've used this exact strategy as an elim before-- It's an effective means of starving the village of information. So I'd like to hear your thought process behind this.

By the way, a quick question. When I first voted for Araris, what did you all think the vote was? For example, Doc immediately took it as a random vote, and while it was a joke on my part, it's curious that he considered it a, and I quote, "Self-stated random vote" when I hadn't stated anything. This isn't exactly alignment-indicative, not yet at the very least, but I found it curious and worth mentioning.

I didn't suspect all of you at different times, I suspected all three of you at the same time for different reasons, Len. It's just a matter of which suspicions I decided to voice. For example, my suspicion that you were trying to pocket Araris has only grown stronger on a reread of the thread. You say you had a village read on him, but Araris.. really had said nothing alignment-indicative. Some RP, a little bit of distribution discussion with Rand and an explanation of what LYLO means when @Rebecca asked. (Speaking of which, I'd like to hear more from you, @Val, @Dalinar Kholin @Snipexe and @Coop772, who I for some reason seem unable to tag..) So, I don't really understand why you immediately jumped to his defence when you're not Roberts. EDIT: Also, @Rathmaskal, @ElephantEarwax, any thoughts?

Mm.. Fair enough. I'm not going to ignore the fact that it might just have been a mistake I wasn't really trying to seem active. I just felt like keeping my vote on Araris was the best idea, but all I did was skim the thread, as you said. Now that I reread the last cycle, I'm growing less sure that Araris is indeed an elim. He has been very.. well, forthright. Not really worried about being suspected, not being particularly careful about his posts etc., tells I would rarely, if ever, associate with an elim. I think that Len coming to Araris's defense could have been an attempt at pocketing. My suspicion that Araris and Bugsy were distancing seems to fall flat, in hindsight.

I finally had enough time to read through the thread. Hey Rand, how slow is this game by championship standards? This entire Bugsy-Araris-Len exchange has been.. Interesting. Right now, I've begun to suspect that Bugsy and Araris are distancing, and while Len's "defense" of Araris seemed.. unnecessary at best, it's not a priority of mine to think about it, mainly because it could go either way. The fact that Bugsy only reacted to Araris's post (the one @Mark IV quoted) after it was brought up by someone else, despite it being a prime target for accusations, makes me uneasy. So I'll be leaving my vote on Araris for now. Depending on how he flips, if he gets lynched, I want to/will look at Rand, Bugsy and Len as the most contributing (discussion-wise) players this cycle.

Mid-Range Game 29: A Midsummer Night with No Moon
Eternum replied to DrakeMarshall's topic in Sanderson Elimination
A soft flute melody wove through the air, slow and calm and melancholy. It was a song of pain, suffering and of endless conflict. It was.. part of a song about the Chandrian. Few heard the music, thanks to the debate going on, but suddenly Enerin stopped. He stood, flute in hand, but did not speak. What was there to say? The tumult went on, whispers and shouts and the old-as-time debate between the Sithe and the Chandrian taking place in the middle of their troupe. It almost felt staged, like a performance. What else could explain such madness? Then again, he had witnessed much madness in the years it took him to compose his song. It was not meant for a flute, that was obvious, but it was meant for no human minds either. And it was not meant to be sung, for the Chandrian would come calling. He knew, for that was exactly what they'd done. Most interesingly, he felt no guilt. Multiple troupe members had died, but they had died for music and family. What better way was there, for the Edema Ruh? Locke.. he almost remembered that name. Almost. He felt no guilt, but he did feel sadness. And so, swept up by his own thoughts, part of him wondered where his feet were taking him as he stepped into the woods. ————————————— Well then. That was an interesting bunch of messages to wake up to. I'm going to vote Devotary.- 406 replies
