  1. That raises the question about the nature of honourblades, are they like the deadshardblades, now that they aren't bonded to the heralds? Or do they still act like radiant blades? Another question, why don't the radiants experience the thrill, do we know why?
  2. It's bitter sweet, ill try and avoid it, sadly I'm sure i'll fail
  3. In fact the only person who was a killing machine and most definitely did not feel the thrill was Szeth!
  4. This could have quite a few interpretations, imo this is what this means, spren, being broken, having the right characteristics etc are the reasons they became radiants, shardbalde is something the spren could become for the radiants, so since spren aare a part of the reason they became radiants, shardblade are part of the reason they became radiants. Sounds weird but its clear in my head lol
  5. I believe they were dead shardblades, the ones prevalent in roshar after the recreance, for example Dalinar's shardblade oathbringer, Adolin's etc. They differ from Kal and Shallan's which are the blades the radiants must have had before the recreance.
  6. I was going through the stormlight wiki when I noticed something odd, it stated no spren exist in shinovar, this got me thinking, aren't spren splinters of honor, cultivation and sometimes odium? So why don't cultivation spren exist in shinovar, the supposed haven of Cultivation? (I'm sure this has been discussed before, however I couldn't find any threads dealing with this point specifically)
  7. In that interlude where those two ardents are alone on the island(Geranid and Ashir), she makes a discovery that measuring spren somehow traps it in that defined form, Ashir hinted it might have significance to fabrials too, are there any theories to this discovery? Wild speculation about to begin, but could this be the explanation for how the recreance occurred? Could they have learned how remove the defined form somehow, leading to the spren becoming undefined, thus a genocide.
  8. yeah, that's always pissed me off. However its to be expected with books that huge lol
  9. Warbreaker mistborn era 1 Elantris (good book, not his best due to being one of his earlier works, definitely a fun read still) White sand, dragonsteel and mistborn era 2 novellas including the threnody one, shadows for silence in the secrets of hell This order worked for me, I hope it does for you too
  10. Unlikely, her father being a part of the ghostbloods, Helaran having a shardblade and his fight with his dad, nan balat and his cruel streak(they all had their secrets, it forms a pattern doesn't it lol) all point to not just an 'unhappy family', but an extraordinary family. These extraordinary circumstances could lead to her cracking, however I feel more will be revealed in the books to come.
  11. I agree that Pai must have been genuine, the diagram is sure to take advantage of this, and might reattempt a Jah keved situation. What should be interesting is Dalinar's reaction to Aesudan's rule...
  12. I believe they lose their memories and become much less intelligent, as seen in the case of Syl, until the next bond.Syl tells kal that this will happen to her if she leaves him.
  13. @Calderis thanks for the interview that clears things up
  14. Yeah and the fact that her apprentice just went to shadesmar would have induced shock, disbelief and alarm, leading to a chance of panic.
  15. About that, do we know how Hoid knew the random location?
  16. ive always been a fan of the tien theories, I personally believe he would have been a truthwatcher. At the end of the day I believe it was his childish imagination, and as I'm rooting for a Kaladin happy ending, i hope he was an elsecaller and pulled a jasnah(however improbable it is)
  17. that's true but its pretty clear its not easy to transport into shadesmar especially when your in a hurry, you can end up making mistakes, like Jasnah choosing a weird location at WOR epilogue because she was in a hurry, but yeah the same room would have made it easier, true.
  18. Yeah the part where Shallan slipped into Shadesmar and Jasnah located her effortlessly does indicate an enhanced sense of direction.
  19. I feel the transportation surge itself is the factor that gives superior control in shadesmar, then ofcourse practice makes perfect
  20. Yeah that explains why Hoid believed Jasnah had learned stuff he wouldn't be able to in shadesmar.
  21. yeah the horneaters look like they have a lot of secrets, I hope we get a Rock pov soon.
  22. I believe Hoid can access shadesmar too? So worlhoppers can do it too, other than the three surges.
  23. I found Pai to be a really motivating character who stood up for what was right despite her world being shattered when she finds out she's the only devout ardent, i really hope she isn't crazy like what @Calderis said, because standing up for what's right isn't my idea of "mad". Nice theory though, phoenix
  24. So we all know that The nightwatcher grants a wish and then delivers a curse. This magic is referred to as "old magic", could this be some twisted form of feruchemy and hemallurgy?(after all stormlight archive events are taking place after mistborn, and i assume scadrial is more advanced so that could be taken as "old") Here goes,So basically The nightwatcher grants wishes by storing up assets in common commodities which could be used instead of the metals freely available at scadrial(like Vasher using stormlight instead of breaths) and the curse is taking stuff from people and storing that in the above said commodities, this process is forgotten by the victims( magic)and to keep the boon one must wear the commodity at all times. It would be cool if some worldhoppers notice this,of course a lot of speculation here but it popped into my head after I read mistborn(I read it after stormlight).Ofcourse there would be obvious limits in the boons possible then, and as for the Taravangian boon and curse maybe since It's linked to a shard(cultivation) it can constantly supply power to the 'commodities '?
