  1. First of all, Kaladin not telling Dalinar about his radiant powers was perfectly understandable, due to his hatred and mistrust of light eyes. When he gets over that and is about to reveal his radiancy, good old Amaram steps in. Obviously Kaladin won't reveal anything now. The hearthstone scene was very satisfactory to me. The issue with Kholinar was that the city was under siege by Voidbringers, and everything seemed messed up. Weird spren, weird cult, suspicion about the queens loyalty, all of this encouraged their discretion. Btw I'll bet that the instant the people rallied behind Kaladin And the others (if it happened), the voidbringers would take the offensive.
  2. 1- Kaladin. He's the surgeon, slave, bridge runner, bodyguard, windrunner. His moral dilemma about killing the parshendi in OB made me love his character even more. I'm really hoping for some Venli, Kaladin interaction in the future. 2- Dalinar. He's the Blackthorn, highprince of war, Bondsmith. His flaws and horrific past and how he finally dealt with it are what make me love his character. I'm really looking forward to him confronting Taravangian, and his interaction with Szeth. 3-Shallan. She's the muderer, scholar, Radiant, ghostblood. I like her independence, her spren and her struggle to come to terms with who she is. I look forward to her interactions with Hoid.
  3. Hmm, so do the honourblades have the same effect? If they do, why does Taln have brown eyes? If not, what's the distinction between shardblades and honourblades apart from the shardblade being spren(is that the reason?)
  4. So, on re-reading Oathbringer, I realised that only Kaladin, a dark eyes had his eye colour change to light blue when he becomes radiant. However, there is no mention of Dalinar or Shallan's(both already light eyes)changing colour. So is there a clear reason why the light eye colour is important? Is it due to the pre-conceived notion that shardbearers are lighteyed? So when Kaladin summons Syl-blade, his self-perception changes and his eyes become light blue? Or is it due to some other reason?Im pretty sure having a shardblade doesn't change your eye colour from dark eyed to light eyed all the time, a good example is Taln'el who was dark eyed despite holding a shardblade. Are there any other theories as to why the eye colour changes once you summon a shardblade? Personally I feel self perception is more likely
  5. I loved Wok, it was a great beginning. WoR was a perfect sequel imo. However Oathbringer did not live up to my expectations. What about you guys?I voted for WoK
  6. 1) Moash, for obvious reasons 2)Shallan, no more POVs pls(or at least reduce the number of them) Of course, it's the Stick, how could I forget?!!
  7. Great post, however the main issue I see with this is the fact that Pattern doesn't seem to suspect anything. Moreover, nothing seemed amiss in Shadesmar(no spooky voidspren hanging over Shallan) However, Shallan does look like the perfect candidate for Sja-anat. We might see her getting posessed in the near future :/
  8. I loved Wok so much, it's undoubtedly my favourite. Wor was amazing, OB was an equally epic story. However, my enjoyment levels dipped in OB. Shallan scenes grew tiresome . Dalinar scenes were great, Adolin scenes were probably my favourite.
  9. That was a touching scene, definitely one of my favourites As to my favourite character, it has to be Adolin and Renarin, they were both great in their unique ways.
  10. Wow! That was emotional! Saddest part was Elhokar dying Dalinar's flashbacks were heartbreaking. Adolin as a kid is adorable! Poor Kaladin, hasn't he suffered enough?! Vivenna!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My favourite SA part so far, so unpredictable and heartbreaking, yet not unnecessarily.
  11. Definetely different from what Brandon has written so far. I'm glad we had the Jasnah povs, and the bridge 4 povs were great. I'm getting really worried about Shallan. Odium was a pleasant surprise, no 2D villians pls Cant wait for some Kaladin time in the next few parts!
  12. Dalinar's story seems to have come to an end, so no present time Dalnar, Shallan seems to have had a satisfactory conclusion to her arc too. I expect another short Kaladin pov and many different povs, hopefully some Hoid and Jasnah!
  13. Yeah some of the short stories were a pain to get through, some were good. Nothing outstanding, so the answer to OP is no.
  14. Isnt a six foot long shardblade more of a two-handed weapon?
  15. Great three chapters, both the Shallan chapters brought the plot of the story forward satisfactorily. The Dalinar chapter was interesting. The odium spren looks like a kandra, as mentioned in the comments, is it the cause of the copycat murders? The lightweaving scene was beautiful. Most importantly, POOR ROCK! Hopefully, the stormlight should heal his hand The Dalinar chapter marks a turning point in his life.I like Evi(so far) too. The moment we've all been waiting for! Adolin told Shallan about Kaladin and Helaran! What I would like after these chapters- a storytelling competition between Hoid and Shallan
  16. I wonder how voidspren look in the cognitive realm, if Pattern looks that creepy imagine how they would look!
  17. Plot twist, its Hoid in disguise On a serious note, I believe Brandon has something unexpected up his sleeve.
  18. The Rock? He's bald.
  19. Np, ur suggestions for new orders were great, thingpoker was mind-boggling
  20. There's another thread devoted to the same topic: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/60925-new-order/ So go ahead and post stuff there My answer is the same, Death Healers!
  21. I haven’t read any of the previous post so forgive me if I repeat a few points These things stuck out for me from these 3 chapters: ~“Shubreth-son-Mashalan, Sunmaker, the Hierocracy.....” Is the shin-like name sunmaker’s name or is it a Shin conqueror? ~”Navani blinked. “How in the Almighty’s tenth name did you do that?” The Almighty has different names?what are they and are they in any way linked to the 10 orders? Kaladin chapter: The voidbringers, Syl can see the yellow Spren. Kaladin cannot. Does this mean Kaladin, Yellow spren can see Syl. Voidbringers cannot. Is that plausible or not? If not why can’t Kal see it? Shallan chapter: “Standing beside her was Mraize, one of the leaders of the Ghostbloods.” It more or less confirms that Ghostbloods is more complex and bigger than what we have seen so far, the “one of the leaders” more or less clinches it. These were some of the few amazing bits in the chapters I found interesting, what say you Sharders?
  22. Thanks, so Adolin must be the one.
  23. I've not been keeping track of the threads for the last few days, so excuse me if I'm out of date. So Renarin can heal stuff, my query is whether this is limited to the physical realm? Personally I really hope this is the case, because if not it would be too powerful. If it does extend to the spiritual realm wouldn't be be able to revive every shardblade?
